Motorola Droid :: Way To Figure Out Whole Debug Bridge?
Mar 22, 2010I rooted my phone. I have been trying to figure out the whole debug bridge. when I point the cmd to the tools folder and type in adp, i get a message 'adp' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. So let me go over what I have done so far and maybe I'm missing a step. I downloaded the SDK. I extracted it to c:/android. I then opended up the sdk setup. then i updated the package. it downloaded a bunch of stuff. I opened my compand prompt and typed in cd C:androidandroid-sdk-windows ools now according to the guide, at this point I should be able to type in adp and it should give a list of commands. I also tried typing in adp push, adp pull, su, and all that good stuff and I get the same message.

Jun 26, 2010I see a few "uninstall apps" on the market and I am wondering why there are such applications. Uninstalling an app from the phone is not that complicated and it is quite fast. Maybe my question is silly but I am very new to Android. I know that Windows for example does not uninstall programs properly, and one needs often a third party program to really make a clean uninstall. Is that the same with Android, or do these apps just make it faster to uninstall an app (with the same result that one will get with a "uninstall" process through the apps manager)?

2. The phone came with handcent messaging app which is cool but what is not cool and semi annoying is every time I get a text message it alerts me with the original app and that one. and if i check one the other one does not always clear the alert.

Nov 23, 2009I have an HTC Droid Eris with Verizon. It came installed with several apps that not only do I not use, but that in some cases start automatically. These include Amazon MP3, Footprints, Google Talk, Teeter, and YouTube. I would like to uninstall them, but I am not given that option (like I am for third-party apps) when I go into "Manage applications" in Settings. Is there another way of removing them from my phone?

Now when I go to manage my applications to uninstall, it's no longer on the list! How do I get it off my phone?

I am using Astro to uninstall this version of Swype.
I can install the beta one that they just released, but it then tells me a version of Swype is already installed.

Mar 19, 2010Ok so I've got smoked glass 6.0.1 running great on my phone but I'm one of the many that are having problem with google maps. I opted to uninstall after installing the rom but I don't know how to do it. I've searched everywhere and they all say just go to manage apps and uninstall from there. I don't have the option to do it from there!...I then saw that you can try filtering and choosing one of the com.google......things that are listed but I don't have the one for maps. Lastly, I saw somewhere using adb shell does the job but I have NO IDEA how to do that.

I like the theme, but want to go back to the stock UD8, because I like LauncherPro and LP and Watermarked don't exactly match in design. Can I just re-install UD8 on top of what I already have without clearing data/cache, or should I do a complete data/cache wipe before re-installing UD8? Or is there another way to remove a theme that I don't know about?
