Jul 9, 2010I am planning to purchase a DroidX on launch day and am switching from a BB Storm2. There are a few apps that I love on my Storm2 that I would like to have on the new phone. Wondering if you guys (and gals) can point me towards similar apps for the Android platform. 1. BerryBuzz - Customizes LED light for different notifications (I.E. can set light to Orange for SMS, Disco light for missed calls, etc.) 2. BerryWeather - Awesome weather app 3. Later Dude - Can set a reminder (calendar, task, call, e-mail, etc.) based on an incoming message/phone call 4. Pocket Informant - Great PIM app.

Jul 13, 2010What i like about nokia is the pc suite(the older version) it syncs automatically with bluetooth. (files, pictures etc) and can read sms messages.
What ive read so far, theres no alternative on android?
Bluetooth handsfree- The current n82 connects fine to the car stereo,- and can accpets calls etc.
This seems to be a problem on android,-dependent on phone and android version. Is this correct?
Regarding programs, i have a call manager with whitelack lists, answering machine and scheduler. And a program that can record conersations.

May 25, 2010First I'm very new to smart phones: I use the application called Handcent SMS, if I hold down the Message bubble when texting I have an option menu appear > Message Options > Copy Message Text.
1) Question: Where does it save the copied text to and how can I paste it to lets say another app like the already built in Phone Book.
2) What is a good place to see a list of function apps for the Droid, and why is the latest build still 1.6 when other phones already have 2.2? (sorry if that question has been asked before.

Jul 27, 2010First of all, I am not saying that I prefer the iPhone over the Droid X at all. HOWEVER, I am terribly jealous over their cases!! I haven't seen the iPhone 4 cases, but for iPhone 3G and 3GS, their cases are just sweet.

Motorola Droid :: Contacts With Similar Names Not Storing Properly
Jan 14, 2010I went to send a text message today to a friend named Jamie and when I scrolled through my contacts and click on Jamie I see two numbers. One is for Jamie and the other is for James. The problem is only Jamie shows up in my contact list. Luckily, I had my old phone and I was able to see which number belonged to who. I tried deleting both contacts and re-adding but the same thing happened. Can anybody else confirm this or is there some setting that I am unaware of (ie. group similar names)? Not a huge deal just curious.

Jul 4, 2010I have had my Droid since January and when I began to update my contact my friends that did not have facebook I would just go under an album and assign a picture off of facebook to their contact. When you go to the facebook picture from an album there was an option that said "set as". Well today I went to go try to set a picture to another friend and the "set as" option no longer shows up? Was that taken away with an update? Is there anyway to set a facebook picture from an album to a friend?

Feb 8, 2010Just rooted last night....Here's what I'm hoping to be able to do soon. I have a bluetooth parrot visor clip in my car. So far it works pretty well. But my one complaint is that the speaker inside it is only OK. It would be GREAT if the call audio while the phone is plugged into my car's AUX jack could be sent to my car's speakers instead of the bluetooth device, leaving the bluetooth device as a glorified microphone.
Right now, when a call comes in and I'm listening to music through my Droid the audio stops and the call audio is transferred to the parrot kit, as it should. So there is obviously some sort of programming that can be done....

Nov 19, 2009I have a motorola bluetooth headset and with my old Storm I could push the button on the headset and it would say "Say a command" from here I could say "Call John Doe mobile" and it would call him up. Haven't figured out how to make this work on the Droid in the same manner natively. Is it possible or is there an application. Purpose of bluetooth is to be hands free. Its not very hands free if I have to pull my phone out my pocket to dial the number first to be able to use the headset.

Dec 14, 2009This may have already been discovered but this weekend while holding my Droid I stumbled upon a cool (maybe useless) feature. If you have the "Google Search" shortcut on your home screen like I do, all you have to do is lightly shake the Droid to activate the search feature. You have to be on the same home screen as the Google Search shortcut. The weird thing is I cannot reproduce my findings 100% of the time. For instance, this morning it worked 7 out of 10 times.
