I have a full backup on the phone right now, but I'm wondering if I'm able to flash custom roms on this phone without messing up the proxy workaround settings.

View 5 Replies View RelatedSo my droid is flashed to cricket, and the oh so anticipated full flash has arrived, ( ) after bringing my droid home several months back, i did a bunch of research, and came to understand that there's two ways to run your phone.
I paid a pretty penny for my droid and wasn't exactly anxious to do anything to the fancy digits inside the phone,..... so my question is, since my phone is flashed, does this mean my phone is already rooted? im a little nervous about doing the whole full flash, since this is a new file they use,(I will be taking it to an "expert") but i've seen so many ads that say "we wont brake your phone like the other guys",....kinda scary statement if you ask me.
So what does this whole flashing thing do to a phone? I dont have any of those rooted things you people talk about, dont know anything about any of that, but im scared its possible these people will somehow ruin my phone.....
I have a DROID that has been flashed to cricket. I woke up this morning and the phone was working just fine. I went to turn on music and noticed all of my music was gone. I started my anti virus to see if maybe something there was causing an issue, and during the scan my music showed up. My phone started running really slow and some pop-ups started showing up stating that "whatever the name was" application has not responded with three options "Force close, wait, and report" When I got frustrated enough to pull the battery, I started getting a boot loop. In the past I get the loop anytime I pull the battery, but if I let it run for 3 or 4 boots, the phone works just fine and I go on with my life. This morning I was not able to get back to "just fine" And the phone has been in an infinite loop all day. I have had it charging, I have tried disconnecting the battery and all the options the forums online have stated.
I can boot into recovery, and about every 6-10 boots the main screen will come up after the eye. I get the main screen with my lock code, the time, notification that I have a voicemail, and "no service" with 0 bars. I get that for about 3-10 seconds, and the phone reboots starting yet again at the white droid symbol screen. While in recovery mode I have been able to navigate around the recovery screens. When I try to do a recovery though, I get "Error: nandroid exited with status 20" if I try to do a backup I get the same error just with status "36" I have no idea where do go from here. I have read that if I flash the SPRecovery it will fix the boot loop, but the biggest thing I am worried about here is loosing my Cricket flash. I do not know how all of this stuff works, so if I am calling the Cricket "flash" wrong, please by all means correct me. If I can flash the SPRecovery while keeping my provider's "flash," or whatever you want to call it, are there instructions on how to do this flash of the SPRecovery? I have recently gotten my entry code in fast enough to get the background to show up. I have a loader app loaded and it showed all the icons at the bottom of the screen, but after a few seconds the phone went back into a boot loop. It showed the correct background, but it didn't show any of the applications loaded. I have let the phone reboot twice since starting this response, and got the same result. The second time I got my code in, I was able to see apps on the background, but a few short seconds later, the phone freezes and shuts off again. I see that I am making progress, but it has been hours so I am hoping there will be a quick answer to help me here.
Alright ive been searching for a couple days now for a tutorial on how to flash to cricket but i just cant find anything.nobody locally knows how to do it, google searching all day gets me nowhere and im seriously starting to give up hope and might just pack my bags and go back to the iphone while i haven't sold it yet. can someone PLEASE give me a link to how to flash an evo to cricket, or explain to me how to do it. are the videos on how to root it of any importance here? im assuming you need to root it then change the carrier settings after that, but i just cant find out what to do after rooting.

View 1 Replies View RelatedAll the new features sites said Flash 10 was part of Driod 2.2. 2.2 was pushed to my phone overnight and I installed it. However when I go to the Adobe Flash showcase, it says I don't have flash installed. So I search the market place and do not see flash as a download. Is this just something that will come later? I really don't read up on Driod all the time so I don't know all the news, just a regular user.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have gotten both the Flash Player and Flash Lite APK's, and I have been trying to install them on the Droid. Flash Player refuses to install on stock 2.1. Flash Lite installs, but after install I can not connect to the internet (Nothing connects, Skype, market, random app, browser.)
So I wanted to know if anyone wanted to do some testing with them, to see if you can get them running on the ROM you are running. Maybe we will be able to make fun of iDevices earlier, because Droid Does what iDont

View 49 Replies View RelatedI figured out how to full flash the LG Ally 740 to cricket but 3 out of every 5 phones I flash do not save the NV settings. When I go to manual programming (##program740 send) then select DATA. The MIP & DUN MIP settings always revert back to the default 0000000000@vzw3g.com settings. I've changed them in LGNPST,CDMA Workshop & QPST but still reverts back to VZW. It's rooted and tried several different ROM's to fix the problem. Could it be the kernel? If anyone can help, please let me know.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a droid eris that's flashed to cricket & everything works except my apps. I searched around the forum & found Pkopaleks thread on how to finish the full flash to get working apps. The store I got my phone flashed at said it was impossible to get working apps because the apps are verizons (lies) & now I'm disappointed their not working. My question is that do all stores that flash phones root phones before the flash? If so will going to recovery mode and loading pkopaleks cricket file ruin what has already been done? Lastly if the store didn't have to root to flash how will I fix this problem?

View 2 Replies View Relatedok, I am new to these forums, so im sure these questions have been answered a million times before. View 49 Replies View RelatedAnother n00b needing some tips/assistance... I spent hours the other night trying to figure out just how to flash my LG Ally to Cricket, to no avail. I've never flashed anything to anything before, so I'm trying to understand the whole process at the same time. There's a lot of vague info on the forums about doing this on the Ally, but nothing clear, yet. I rooted my phone (thanks to amoamare's AllyRR) and tried using 3 programs to gain access to changing PRLs, etc: CDMA Workshop, LGNPST, and QPST. None of them could correctly identify my phone (and yes, I had USB debugging on). It seems to me LG has added a layer of protection to prevent using these tools. My guess is that those of you out there who know how to code (I'm not included) can use ADB Shell or something else to modify PRLs, etc. on a rooted phone.

View 4 Replies View RelatedFailure. Ok I rooted using Visionary. Everything works great but my camera will not open so I thought I would flash with 2.2 and start over. See if that was the issue. I did a hard reset of the system and the phone is still rooted which I understand. My problem is I can't seem to figure out how to successfully flash. I downloaded both RSD Lite and SBF 2.2. I have attached my Droid X to my PC and checked debugging. I have opened the Droid X window on my PC which only shows my SD Card. I then go to my folder holding both RSD Lite and 2.2. I click on RSD Lite and open it and install it. After that I'm lost. Nothing happens. What am I suppose to do move forward.
View 9 Replies View RelatedSo I downloaded droid x bootstrapper and ROM manager, removed my NEXTHEME and black status bar, and when I tried to install the stock droid x 2.2 file from ROM manager it failed. not only that, all of my apps except for superuser app were deleted including launcher pro once it booted back up. it's almost as if I have a stock phone (i chose reboot from the recovery screen. did this flash the SBF by chance?) still says 2.1 update 1 for version. I get the following code...
View 5 Replies View RelatedAs the title says, flash isn't working. Even if I go to here: Adobe Flash showcase for mobile (BETA) and click on a show it won't load. Am I going to be able to get any flash support on my X on launch, or am I going to have to wait until the end of summer? I know on my incredible I got a flash and with a handy hacked apk from 2.2 I got full flash support, but from what I can tell i wont even get flash light on the X is that right?

View 20 Replies View RelatedI just rooted my phone a bit ago and tried a few different roms on Rom Manager. I got to the Ultimate Droid 10 New Era or something one and now I'm stuck in a bootloop. It keeps loading the UD circle and flipping it then goes blank and repeats. What do I need to do to get it out of this? edit- I held X while turning it on to get into the clockwork menu and nandroid to try to restore the boot but it still didn't work. Was still looping the Ultimate Droid boot screen. edit again- I went back to that menu and restored system this time. Still loops but its the original droid boot screen now.
