ok, I am new to these forums, so im sure these questions have been answered a million times before. But i am wondering how close is the 2.1 update and flash to being available for the Droid. Also, how do you update it, is it in the market or will it just happen automatically?

I just flashed back to 2.1 using RSDlite 4.7 and the sbf file, but is my operating system up to date? As soon as I flashed it, i rooted it and that all works fine, but i hear that rooting doesn't allow OTA updates. I went into settings and found that my phone said it was up to date, but idk if this is accurate with rooting right after the sbf flash.
View 9 Replies View RelatedThe Verizon Flash Update keeps trying to install on my Bugless Beast .4 phone. When I click "install" it reboots the phone, and tries to install but fails on the install and goes straight to Clockwork Recovery Mode. Then a couple days later it tells me to install the update again.
Does anybody know of a way to disable the update notification or successfully install the update so that it will stop bothering me?
I still have not received the ota 2.2 update for my motorola droid. I used to have my droid rooted to droidmod I think, I started having some problems (this was months ago so I'm sure everything was fixed) and I unrooted and went back to stock 2.0.1 and then used the ota to update to 2.1. So I am waiting on froyo and I was just wondering if I update and don't like it will I be able to flash back to 2.0.1.

I downloaded the flash player beta with 2.2 update running. So, how do I get it to work? Just go to a site with a flash video and press play? Is there a way to put it in full screen?

anyone else having this problem after the update to 2.1. When I had 1.5 it NEVER force closed. Any idea's what I can do? Yes I did the hard rest after the update.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI did do a search, but didn't find anything. I had been running Cyanogen's latest 5.0.5.3 I had also been using Ultimate Droid 8.1.1. I had decided to flash to UD from CM. I used ROM Manager. I had been using the Helix 2 launcher with UD. I decided to try the launcher2, so I checked that. The whole process ran apparently normally. Except it did lock up at the cache backup stage at the dalvik cache backup. I had to pull the battery and re do the ROM download from ROM manager. However, when the screen pops up after all of the boot antimation cycle, and you unlock, there is an immediate launcher2 force close. I can get to nothing in the phone. I do have the entire contents of my sd card on my laptop, which has all of the backups on it, not including this latest one.Power off and hold the X key does not work, so I can't get to reboot recovery that way. Multiple power off and battery pulls did nothing. Another point is that I had been able to download UD only if I checked AdamZ's 1.0 low voltage overclock kernel. I would get ROM download error with ANY of the other kernel choices. I tried this after the ROM Manager update I found tonight. This time I checked Chevy's 1.25 low voltage, and the process seemed normal, other than the lockup during cache backup noted above. However UD had been running just fine when I had used it. S
View 5 Replies View RelatedAll the new features sites said Flash 10 was part of Driod 2.2. 2.2 was pushed to my phone overnight and I installed it. However when I go to the Adobe Flash showcase, it says I don't have flash installed. So I search the market place and do not see flash as a download. Is this just something that will come later? I really don't read up on Driod all the time so I don't know all the news, just a regular user.

Flash Lite installs, but after install I can not connect to the internet (Nothing connects, Skype, market, random app, browser.)
So I wanted to know if anyone wanted to do some testing with them, to see if you can get them running on the ROM you are running. Maybe we will be able to make fun of iDevices earlier, because Droid Does what iDont

I really dont think so at all. I looked at some vids in you and that nexus is FAST!! I have my droid clocked at 550 firm all the time (its rooted) and it does not come close to how the nexus moves around and opens things up.I also know that one cannot compare speeds by simply opening things up. If that were true my wifes cliq is faster many times opening things up. But when you do things that need a strong proccesor theres where you will see the difference. For example, before I rooted the droid i could NOT stream tv shows (jetflicks) using wifi and a bluetooth stereo headset. the show would pause every 2-3 minutes, very annoying, and the voice would be of sync as well.
When I rooted the phone and installed an app that keeps the droid at 550 it worked PERFECTLY. No problems with sync or the show stopping every few minutes. SO, Im thinking that there cannot be no way in android world that the droid can perform at the same speed of the nexus when using apps that NEED a good fast proccesor.
I just got my droid about 2 weeks ago. I returned it the next day because it kept force closing on my sms. They gave me a new one and haven't had the problem.until yesterday. At least twice a day now, since yesterday, i get a message saying: The application Messaging (process com.android.mms) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again...so i hit Force Close and then it just stays on a blank black screen so i hit the home button and hit messaging again and it pops up again. I take the battery out and that works for a few hours but then it just happens again...i don't wanna take this one back again and get a new one.I mean i have anti-virus (i dunno if it's good though lol) so I don't think it could be an app...i use the standard Messaging app that came with the phone, not Handcent or something else.will someone.I searched but they all seemed to be for different phones, not the droid.

Well yesterday, it started to do a force close when I click to open an email. I can synch and view the headers without any problems, just can't click on the email. I have rebooted, hard shut off, and done *228, and nothing has worked. Gmail works just fine.

It is currently stuck like it is downloading and sometimes it even says it's 100% downloaded, but nothing happens after that. If I click on cancel download, it force closes the market every time. I tried deleting LauncherPro and reinstalling it, but now I have lost it and can't get it back. I am still able to install and update other apps without any problem.

I can open and take pictures using an Fx camera, but anytime I try to open the camera or camcorder it will open for maybe 2 seconds then just close, sometimes my screen will just be completely black, and also sometimes it tells me camera not available try again another time.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have had zero issues connecting my Droid with my corporate exchange client, which has been fantastic and refreshing, however, in the last week I have had email tell me it had to force close 3x.Each time it does, when I go to re-open everything is gone, it goes back to the sync an account/enter email address set up. Each time I do it on the far left the bars are a different color (what does this mean), right now they are the color of this smilie.Anything I can do to stop this from happening? Are there other email apps that might work better and have this not happening? I keep 2 weeks worth of emails on my phone so when something like this happens it is not a quick fix to get back where it was.
