View 7 Replies View RelatedI noticed at some point after the upgrade to CL14 (done via sprint) that my flash on the camera isn't working. This could have been happening before the upgrade but i doubt it.
Anyways so the camera doesn't light up the flash. I saw it light up the flash once since I started troubleshooting but thats about it. I switched back and forth between flash on/off a dozen times or so.
Downloaded momentflash. Low and behold i started the app and it worked! Then i tried turning the flash on again and no luck. So i uninstalled, rebooted phone over and over again, no luck. I then did some reading and realized there was a widget. Put that on the desktop and again the FIRST time i ran the widget the flash worked. then it stopped again. I haven't been able to light it up since then.
I haven't been able to do much troubleshooting when it does work, but it doesn't seem hardware related. it stays on until i hit off, but i didn't get a chance to wiggle it around to see if contacts needed cleaing, etc...
Just wondering if anyone had any ideas? I don't think its any apps i have installed as i have pretty standard ones and had those on when it was working ( i believe at least).
i also tried killing all my running apps to see if any were causing conflict, then restarting momentflash and it still wouldn't light it up...
any help would be great, I don't really know what else to try. Looked at the android logs and nothing jumped out as having an issue.
I could probably try hard resetting but don't want to restore the phone again if i don't have to.
I am totaly new to doing flashes and everything to cell phones. Last night I put 2.1 on my phone and it worked wonderful! Today I was going to root it with SPH-M900_MR2_DD03_REL-joeykrim-recovery-2.1.3.tar. I started up the Sprint Uploader thing and when it reached the actual updating part the USB cable got disconected form the computer. When I tried to turn my phone on it says "Cannot find .jpg or png!" I have tried to re-flash it but everytime it gets to the uplaod it freezes and has "?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am a new moment owner and like it so far, has anyone heard or think they will have any icon flash for missed text or calls as part of the 2.1 update or has anyone heard of an application?
View 4 Replies View RelatedCan anyone tell me if there's an app where I can get Flash player? I like to get to see my local weather videos and can't get it due to no adobe flash player? Will this be something we'll have with 2.1? If so I guess I could wait?
As for facebook? How do I get to alert me in pop-up format when I get a message or replied to in facebook? I tried in settings and can't seem to see anything that I can tab for it to pop-up? The only way is when I recieve an email update, and there it shows someone replied to you in facebook or requested you as a friend? Along with email? I would like to see that pop-up like my email, text, etc. but from facebook alone if possible.
After flashing Radioactive Froyo 1.8.7 Panda Radio doesn't work. It loads but when I go to run it a popup appears and says it has stopped unexpectedly to retry. No matter retrying it won't work.
View 4 Replies View RelatedThere is an app in the market which is written just for the Moment that uses the camera flash as a flashlight -- essentially it turns on the camera flash. The application says not to use the flash "too long" or damage may occur, but the "too long" time period is not defined. First, will having the flash on for an period of time damage it? Second, if so, any idea what maximum period of time would be "safe?"

View 6 Replies View RelatedI figured out how to full flash the LG Ally 740 to cricket but 3 out of every 5 phones I flash do not save the NV settings. When I go to manual programming (##program740 send) then select DATA. The MIP & DUN MIP settings always revert back to the default 0000000000@vzw3g.com settings. I've changed them in LGNPST,CDMA Workshop & QPST but still reverts back to VZW. It's rooted and tried several different ROM's to fix the problem. Could it be the kernel? If anyone can help, please let me know.
View 7 Replies View RelatedA friend of mine is going to buy the Droid and he wants to Flash the phone and use it with Cricket... is this possible yet?
View 11 Replies View RelatedWe can now do partial flashes with the CL14 SBL.... If you have not had the CL14 official update yet, you can follow these steps to get it:
Remember... THIS WILL PUT THE CL14 BOOTLOADER ON YOUR PHONE!
What you need:
Sprints Update Utility
1. Create a datatool back-up.
2. Download and install Sprints Update Utility found above.
3. Run the program (now called SWUpdater) and follow all the directions until it says "Flash Downloading Complete".
Once you have the official CL14 update on your phone, or if you already had it, and you would like to flash SDX/Joey's Kernel (and Max's Recovery), follow the steps below.
What you need:
CL14 official update
An SDX/Joey's Kernel
Max's Recovery
1. Create a datatool back-up... (Although you most likely wont need it if you are just flashing a kernel.... But JUST in case, you should create a datatool back-up if you aren't confident that you wont wipe your data!)
2. After downloading and installing Sprints Update Utility, go into the binary folder (C:Program FilesSamsung ElectronicsSWUpgradeModelsBinary) and move the CL14 file to a safe place, MAKE SURE IT IS NO LONGER IN THE BINARY FOLDER.
3. Find the Kernel you want to flash and put it in the binary folder.
Note: Now you should only have one file in the binary folder (the custom kernel). Also make sure that if the file you are putting into the binary folder says 7zip or winrar, extract it!! If you dont you will get the message "Cannot access bin folder!", and you will not be able to start the download.
4. On your desktop there should be a program named SWUpgrade. Run the program and follow all of the steps through the end. After every thing finishes successfully, you will end up with STOCK CL14, this includes the CL14 SBL, along with the custom kernel you put in the binary folder (you are root).
5. Double check that everything worked by going into Settings-About Phone, under BaseBand version you should see S:M900.8.0S.CL14, under Kernel version= 2.6.27 moment(at)momentdev, under Build number= Joey's name (or any other developer who's kernel you put in the binary folder).
6. Repeat steps 1-4, putting Max's recovery in the binary folder instead of the kernel.
7. You're all set.
(If you happen to want to flash one of Zefie's kernels, repeat steps 1-4 also.)
It wasn't a great thing to get the CL14 update before, because it was hard to obtain root. But now with Sprints Update Utility, and all the new kernels, we are able to get root with the CL14 SBL easily.
Another n00b needing some tips/assistance... I spent hours the other night trying to figure out just how to flash my LG Ally to Cricket, to no avail. I've never flashed anything to anything before, so I'm trying to understand the whole process at the same time. There's a lot of vague info on the forums about doing this on the Ally, but nothing clear, yet. I rooted my phone (thanks to amoamare's AllyRR) and tried using 3 programs to gain access to changing PRLs, etc: CDMA Workshop, LGNPST, and QPST. None of them could correctly identify my phone (and yes, I had USB debugging on). It seems to me LG has added a layer of protection to prevent using these tools. My guess is that those of you out there who know how to code (I'm not included) can use ADB Shell or something else to modify PRLs, etc. on a rooted phone.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just got my hands on the ever so lovely HTC incredible and flashed it to cricket. However I'm having a few issues with getting my gps, mms, apps and getting my data connection to stop going on and off. I followed the walkthroughs for both the HTC Eris/hero and the Motorola Droid, course respecting the aspects of Motorola that won't work on an HTC. I've gotten the web running with the issue of it periodically goin in and out. As for mms, gps and apps....sadly they're a no go. If anyone has any ideas or can help it would be greatly appreciated.
