Jan 6, 2010Is there any way to disable the volume control button as it works on the ringer volume? I use locale, but I bump those buttons often enough and turn the ringer off completely.

Verizon sent me a replacement phone. Not only did the replacement phone arrive with the same 3g drop issues, the replacement phone has such a bad buzzing in the ear piece that it's hard to hear someone speaking!

Aug 28, 2010Has it been determined if the issues with WiFi or 3G signal dropping a hardware issue on the device or a software issue? I have 3 days left to exchange it for a brand new one and it would defeat the purpose if it ends up being on the software side. I really love the heck out of my DX (52hr battery life with light usage!). But I'm getting sick and tired of either signal dropping randomly and not being able to connect on the Internet. I have to turn WiFi off/on, or with 3G, wait 'till it finally decides to reconnect itself again or close window and try again. When I do get a locked signal, it is fast, but within 10-15 minutes it drops. With WiFi I have tried many configuration with my router and everything is a No Go, same results.

But the computer doesn't recognize the phone at all. Nov 9, 2009For some odd reason, I will miss a call or a text and wonder why I didn't hear the ring. So, I go into the settings and see that the ring setting is turned nearly all the way down, so I crank it back up again. Then, later it is back down again.
What could cause this? Is there some action which will cause it to automatically turn down the volume, not just silence it for a while, but actually adjust the setting down?

I'd like the vibe & ring (both) option. But would be happy with just the ring too.or have the choice to change when I want.I used to have a very old MOTO Razr, which have PROFILE setting for: Meeting, Outdoor, Silent, Vibe, Normal, etc. I'm surprised The Hi-tech Droid X has nothing like that.

I keep my phone on vibrate always. well, I try to, but sometimes I hit the volume button on accident and it would be nice to not have to adjust it. Not only do I not want the phone to ring, but I don't want it to not vibrate (all the way down). Also, I still don't always understand when I can adjust other volumes, like Media Volume. Sometimes I start an app or music and the volume is too loud. It seems like sometimes I can't adjust the volume till after it starts playing.

Nov 19, 2010I just got a Droid 2 and I think the phone is amazing... except for one thing. I am amazed that the volume rocker doesn't function logically like any other volume rocker. I have heard brief mention of this being a common problem, but I can't seem to find any other threads on the issue. Here's what I want my volume rocker to do: (just like any other phone,) I want it to adjust volume level, then go to Vibrate (everything!) and then go to Silence (everything!) Right now, when it goes to silent, some things still vibrate, and when it's on vibrate, some things still ring--and it is driving me crazy! On a related note, it would also be awesome if I could set it up to silence all notifications beside phone calls, text messages, and the alarm, when I want it to, like when I'm sleeping. If somebody could humor me and tell me exactly what I need to do to get my D2 to function in these respects like a regular phone, but while not impeding its other awesome functions, that would be great.

In order to deal with the pain, she is using a program called "Hypno-Babies", which consists of a series of hypno-induction preparedness CDs, and then a "Birthing" CD to listen to."You feel no pain. Your pelvis is not splitting. Your vagina is not tearing..." I'm being as supportive as possible, as I have a role in this as well, but this is our second, and I know she's going to be asking for the epi about 2 hours into it!She wants to use her Droid to listen to the CD while she is in labor. The problem is that any distraction through the Droid will have an impact on the whole thing. (If the incoming messages notification sounds like a chicken, she might come out of all this clucking!) Well, maybe not that bad, but it will screw up her concentration.I use Sound Manager on mine, but I need to make sure that there's absolutely no chance that my wife's Droid does anything other than behave like an mp3 player.
