Aug 7, 2010I got a full body zagg today and on the way home when I tried to use the car mount it started to peel the corners off in the back. Does this only happen when the zagg is new and not all the way secure or did I make a mistake and need to peel of the back pieces?Just curious if anyone else have both the zagg and car mount and if so if people are having the same results as me.

Jul 22, 2010I ordered a ZAGG full body max protector to replace my Body Glove case. I didn't know if anyone had any experience with covering the whole body with this thing? I went with the max vs the easy version because I'd think the corners are going prolly mostly likely to get hit if it's dropped and the easy version doesn't protect sides/corners. Obviously this provides no shock protection if it's dropped but it's a nice compromise between showing off it's sexiness and protection.

May 11, 2010Looks pretty craptacular right now. I know I'm supposed to give it another 12-24 hours to dry and "cure" (although I seem to recall seeing the timeframe of 24-48 hours on this board, anyone vouch for that?), but I'm a little concerned.Sorry for the huge crappy pic, had to take it with my old phone. But you can see the smears and lines. Those are what I'm worried about. Anyone who's used a Zagg able to comment on whether those disappear in the curing process? I'll be sure to post better pics when it's completely dried for people.

Dec 15, 2009I've been playing around with Home++ lately and have really been liking the feel of this home replacement. Currently I'm using DxTop and while I am really impressed with it as well, I feel like changing it up a bit.
I'm just wondering if having both of them installed on my phone is going to kill the battery faster, make it lag, or generally cause any issues with normal phone operation. Also, if I select to use one of them as my default home screen, does it automatically stop the other one or will I have two home replacements running at once?

Nov 26, 2009After reading Engadget's article on how to make your own dock, I decided to make my own, and I wanted to see if anyone else has made their own custom docks as well. As for mine, I just used some Foam-core board, glue and extra magnets lying around, and came up with this:

Nov 25, 2009I have been trying to find one in stores for about a week and a half now and can't find them anywhere.
Then two days ago they went on backorder online, and now they aren't even listed on Verizon's website, and on Motorola's they are both listed as "Coming Soon." Anyone have any info on these?
Also, does the car mount come with a charger? It states that it does on Motorola's website but it says it doesn't on Verizon's...
Motorola Droid :: Pictures - Magnetic Docks Work
Nov 9, 2009So it's no secret that the super-special-awesome multimedia and car docks use magnetics to get you into that mode. But I got curious just now, so here is what happens when you put 1/4" cube neodymium magnets on certain spots on the device. If you already figured that this is how it works, good for you.
These pictures are terrible, yes. You can click on them to see them in their full-sized horror. I didn't make a point of being artistic here, I just want to show you what happens. And yes, that is a box of Sensodyne. It was on my bathroom vanity, which is the best-lit area of my house at nighttime.
This is where you want to put the magnet to activate the sensor.
But the polarity is the key to choosing which "dock" gets activated. I don't have a polarity indicator to tell me which pole is which, but suffice it to say that one pole activates multimedia, and the other activates car.
I tried this with 5mm diameter, 1mm thick neodymium disks, but they didn't work. That's the only other size I have besides 1" cubes which I'd be afraid to put by my phone though.
You may want to look into something like 5mm by 2mm or 10mm by 2mm or something. 1/4" cubes aren't very compact if you're looking to be thrifty and make your own dock. You could just slip a thin disk into your design and it'd be totally discreet. Hey, making your own dock or buying an el cheapo one and slipping in a 10 cent magnet sure beats buying a $30 one, doesn't it?
This also shows us that there may not be any more special docks to come, and if there will be, they won't be based on this technology. After all, both poles of the magnetic sensor have already been used.

Jan 22, 2010For anyone using the Body Glove case, I have a question for you.Has your slider become loose?I know the case fits snug and causes the keyboard to be tighter opening, but when removed, is your slider actually loser?I just bought the Body Glove but I'm thinking about returning it. There is some resistance to opening the slider, which I wouldn't mind, if it wasn't causing the slider to actually separate from the screen.What I mean is, upon looking head on at the side with the headphone jack, I can see the tab where the bottom plate snaps to the phone rubbing with the tab where the front plate snaps to the phone when opening the slider. That's what is causing the resistance, at least on my case. That would be fine except, from that angle and from the angle looking into the micro-usb port, I can see the screen and slider separating a bit when opening the slider. I'm worried about that making the slider loose over time.

Dec 18, 2009So I chose to get a Phantom Skinz after reading the reviews. My older Droid was having major reboot issues, so I just exchanged it 3 days ago. Once I determined this new Droid had no glaring issues, it was off to install my phantom...Took 1.5 hours. Wasn't thrilled at the way the corners worked, but it was doable. HOWEVER, when I went to take the dog out and bent over to pick up a ball to throw for him, the once-sticky droid (now slick with the full body skinz), slipped right out of my hoodie pocket. OF COURSE the only place that was scratched was the 1mm of bezel that is not covered by the strangely-engineered top/corner cover. Kinda ticked that I wasted, 1.5 hours, only to make my phone slick enough to fall and have it scratched where the "full body" cover didn't cover.

Mar 29, 2010okay my driod is getting harder and harder to slide open. i noticed on the back of the phone when its slid open you can see a plastic film. the clear film began to bubble and i thought thats what was causing the slide to not open smoothly. i took off the plastic and its opening nicer. i think maybe if i clean and lube gentally the tracks it might work great again.
