I have the FRF57 Froyo ROM installed, and with it comes a 600 OC. I'd like to push it up to 1GHz, but I'm unfamiliar with OCing the Droid. Could you guys post a link to the kernal, please? I can't find one. I'm using the Clockwork flash. Also, to install the kernal, is it the same as installing the ROM? (unzip it into clockwork backup folder, boot in recovery, and restore it?)

I've read that FRF57 was getting about 25% faster speeds, what about BB.1 vs FRF57.Is there a difference in speed.More importantly, how about how smooth it operates.I am a nut about how smooth the phone works.Even if BB resulted in lower benchmark scores, but smoother performance, I would go for BB.1.

View 32 Replies View RelatedI installed my first custom rom and kernal yesterday and unfortunately I'm having some battery problems. I left my phone on for 7 hours idle and it only has about 80% left.
The rom i used is BB .4, Kernal is Chevy ULV 1gig
My idle temp is 26c, basic use temp is 36c (browsing, right after quadrant use), is that high?
The usage breakdown is:
Total time on: 6hrs 52 m
Phone Idle: 26% 6hrs 43 min
Cell Standby 20% 6 hrs 49 min
LauncherPro 16% 5m 56s
Android System 12% 4m 32s
FlipClock Blackout 9% 3m 31s

If it is the kernal then i have to go back to stock right? because ULVs use the least amount of power?
During installation of rom and kernal, i did the wipe data/cache stuff. I also installed a custom boot animation. lots of stuff to do on my first day.
My phone is Running way to hot on this kernal for Pete and I haven't even put O.C. yet the speed is good but is their a way to get like a 800 Mhz Kernal for ESE, b/c haven't found one yet. Thanks....actually I'm not even sure Pete is running a kernal.

View 4 Replies View RelatedIt looks like Chevy's kernal is breaking the root access for Titanium. Anyone else having the same issue? When I first installed BB .7, Titanium worked fine. Then I installed Chevy's kernal and now it doesn't have root access. Looks like a couple other people are having the same issue on AllDroid. I'm using BB .7 with Chevy's 1ghz kernal.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently rooted 2.1update1, I backed up twice with sprecovey...2.1 unrooted, 2.1 rooted. Then downloaded Ti backup and did a full backup of apps. I bought ROM manager and downloaded p3droid 1ghz kernal and flashed it. I know it probably worked but I ended up restoring to the back up that ROM manager made just before flashing p3droid kernal. How can I restore my settings and apps after I flash a ROM? Is there a way to add p3driod to over clock without overiding my apps?Didn't want to get in too deep without finding out first. I read for weeks before I rooted, Im ready for the quick answer. Im considering CM or Nexbeast...not sure. I really don't mind the rooted droid OS, but id like to use wireless tether and over clock a little. If I flash to a new rom can I redownload TI backup and have it restore all my apps from my SD? I also have sprecovery backups on my PC, but that wont help because they were created on stock 2.1 rooted.

Are there any ROMs built on 2.1 for the CLIQ? Or is there a way to flash the stock 2.1 version onto his phone now? What we've done so far is:
1) Root the phone using the weird french orange update.zip
2) Flash the custom recovery.img
3) Installed a ROM that he's not entirely pleased with, I was expecting to be able to just install ROM Manager on his phone and pick out a ROM like I did on my Droid.
I have hundreds of books, manuals, and blocks of text information that I wish to read, but with no Eris app that "works" for me I must carry a Palm TX. The material is 100% text, no images.
My requirements are
1. Load text files
2. Adjust font size
3. Controllable scroll
4. Instructions (user guide, manual, etc.)
I've tried Laputa, Aldiko, JJReader, Wordplayer, eReader, and others - and every one of them fails on at least one of the above.
And it's critical that the app provide help in loading, storing, and accessing the files.
Price is unimportant - I really REALLY need an ebook reader!!
This Eris is on 2.1, and is not rooted.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI just ordered the seidio battery for my phone (3500). the battery widget i downloaded is telling me 92% left on battery, and the little icon in the task bar is showing completely full.
Are the widgets pretty accurate with what they display as to what's really left on the battery?
also, when I first got this battery, I put it on the external charger for 12 hours(tuesday night). what else do i need to do to ensure it's going to fully charge while charging IN my phone? This morning this is what I did: charged til all the way green, turned phone off, charging light turned back orange so i waited until it was green again, booted into recovery using clockwork, and then wiped battery stats. this only being my second charge, i know it can take up to 5 or 6 charges to reach battery's full potential, but i have unplugged it and not really used it since 7:30am. my battery widget is telling me I only have 90% left (dropped 2% already while posting this). that seems like it drained that first 10% really quickly. also, i have made another thread about my phone being awake 100% of the time, so I am sure this is contributing to it.

I am using multicon so i can utilize more of my homescreen with more apps. Other than that, not using any other widgets besides the weather widget.
I can't figure out what's keeping my phone awake. how do I ensure that my battery is going to get a FULL charge while IN my phone.
Trouble updating PRI
I can't get wireless tether to work. (a whole other issue)
I have the KingsxKernal right now and when I tried to flash the CM6 Turbo kernal to the phone it installed and when I rebooted the phone it kept restarting every time it got to the 4G screen and wouldn't go any further. I did the nandroid backup and cleared both caches before installing and then did the reboot so im not sure what I could have done wrong.
