So i rooted my phone about 2 or 3 weeks ago and then after a day of having the stock ROM i flashed fresh 3.3.0.1 or what ever it is and i have always read up on rooting and stuff but i have no idea what a kernal is compared to a ROM and should i change the kernal i am running because all i have done is flash the ROM nothing else

I work at Colgate U. and am in a concrete room with a very old concrete or stone building. Usually with the S2 I got 0 to 1 bars of signal. With my HTC Eris I am getting 2 to 3 bars of signal and can carry a conversation without dropping a call. What was you previous phone and how do the signals compare?

I am not getting great battery life as of right now and am hoping that someone can suggest a new Kernal to help with this. View 3 Replies View RelatedI just ordered the seidio battery for my phone (3500). the battery widget i downloaded is telling me 92% left on battery, and the little icon in the task bar is showing completely full.
Are the widgets pretty accurate with what they display as to what's really left on the battery?
also, when I first got this battery, I put it on the external charger for 12 hours(tuesday night). what else do i need to do to ensure it's going to fully charge while charging IN my phone? This morning this is what I did: charged til all the way green, turned phone off, charging light turned back orange so i waited until it was green again, booted into recovery using clockwork, and then wiped battery stats. this only being my second charge, i know it can take up to 5 or 6 charges to reach battery's full potential, but i have unplugged it and not really used it since 7:30am. my battery widget is telling me I only have 90% left (dropped 2% already while posting this). that seems like it drained that first 10% really quickly. also, i have made another thread about my phone being awake 100% of the time, so I am sure this is contributing to it.

I'm using HTC Sense as my launcher.
I am using multicon so i can utilize more of my homescreen with more apps. Other than that, not using any other widgets besides the weather widget.
I can't figure out what's keeping my phone awake. how do I ensure that my battery is going to get a FULL charge while IN my phone.

I have the KingsxKernal right now and when I tried to flash the CM6 Turbo kernal to the phone it installed and when I rebooted the phone it kept restarting every time it got to the 4G screen and wouldn't go any further. I did the nandroid backup and cleared both caches before installing and then did the reboot so im not sure what I could have done wrong.

I have a HTC Hero, I have it rooted and running the Fresh 1.1 ROM and the more I play with it, the more I don't like it. I work at a Verizon franchise and get to play with the Moto Droid all day and it is amazing at how much quicker it is. So, what I am asking is, is there antother DROID powered device besides the Nexus One that puts out similar speeds? And is there one for Sprint that is coming out soon or rumored to be atleast?

On Windows Phone, it does 1,000 times a minute, a bit slower. But on Android in particular, it only gets about 500, and the UI updating is slow. I am getting some serious battery drain with Fresh 3.2 and netarchy-toastmod 4.1.9.1 cfs ( i have also used the stable 4.1.8) and I am getting serious drain. Here is a screen shot from today. Unplugged phone around 7:30 and by the time I took the screen cap at 8:30 i was down 25%!! I used the phone to RDP to my house for maybe 3 mins (using pocket cloud app).I also played 1 youtube clip ( katy perry on sesame street XD~~ 1.:30 mins long) Thats all I have done so far. Do you guys think I should try a different combination? I pretty much have everything turned off on the phone. No GPS, sync i think every 4 hours. Using launcher pro, and beautiful widgets.
