Motorola Droid X :: Best Way To Copy Media Files To The DX
Jul 19, 2010I'm using media player now, since it launched right away.
If there a better/faster method (drag n drop or such) to move files from/to the droid?
Also is there a file structure in place where you *must* put specific file types? (I have the pdf manual, and want to copy it as well to the DX... I'm not sure where it goes though, or how to move the file over.)
Is there a faq here on the best methods and file folder locations specific to the DX?

Feb 7, 2014im looking for an app that can show me recent facebook, instagram, and twitter posts close to my location. i found "tweets nearby" but its twitter only. there seem to be plenty for seeing places nearby, as well as friends nearby, who sign up to the same app.

Aug 25, 2010I posted earlier about finding apps that are now no longer on the Android Market. More so I wanted the Sickipedia app but it isn't showing anymore on the Market. Is there a place where I can go and find lists of apps that I can download as apk's and then install using Astro File Manager? Would also be great if someone actually had a link to the Sickipedia apk. Everything I have found in Google so far directs me to a link for the Android Market but the particular app doesn't exist there anymore.

Jun 8, 2010I have the FRF57 Froyo ROM installed, and with it comes a 600 OC. I'd like to push it up to 1GHz, but I'm unfamiliar with OCing the Droid. Could you guys post a link to the kernal, please? I can't find one. I'm using the Clockwork flash. Also, to install the kernal, is it the same as installing the ROM? (unzip it into clockwork backup folder, boot in recovery, and restore it?)

Apr 4, 2010I have a Samsung Galaxy I7500 using android 1.5. I extended my phone with a 16GB microSD. I copied a big music collection (around 800 files) into a folder on this SD. Now the problem is that the music player can't find all the files.
I know that there are several threads about android not finding music. The answers are usually that the library hasn't yet been updated or that the ID3 tags are not correct.
I have checked both.
Btw. I can play the files using ASTRO.
In my opinion it seems as if android can't build up a library with too many entries. If I rename the files or put them into different folders, songs disappear and reappear quite randomly.
Do you have any solutions? Is there a music player which doesn't use the native music players index of files?

May 4, 2010I got my droid eris in december for christmas and have had no problems until recently. Everytime I try to put more music onto my Eris it'll only transfer SOME of the files. For instance, my phone was stolen last week and I just got my new one today. I tried to put about 20 artists onto it, and after waiting 30 minutes for them all to transfer only about 15 were there. I've checked and I still have ample space too.

Nov 17, 2009I uploaded about 50 pictures from iPhoto (using a Mac) just to see what they looked like and then later formatted the Droid's SD card, so the pictures were no longer there.
Now, if I mount the Droid via USB and view the file structure there is a folder named /albumthumbs which contains 50 files, presumably for the 50 pictures a had on the SD card.
To me, these file, unless linking to actual photos stored on the SD card, take up extra space in the phone's memory (not worried about the SD card). I wonder if I can safely delete them (just the files...not the folder)?
Motorola CLIQ :: Way To Finding A ROM
Nov 12, 2010So I spent a couple hours helping a friend root his CLIQ (which was WAY harder than rooting my Droid BTW). We had trouble finding a ROM that we liked. Are there any ROMs built on 2.1 for the CLIQ? Or is there a way to flash the stock 2.1 version onto his phone now? What we've done so far is:
1) Root the phone using the weird french orange update.zip
2) Flash the custom recovery.img
3) Installed a ROM that he's not entirely pleased with, I was expecting to be able to just install ROM Manager on his phone and pick out a ROM like I did on my Droid.

Nov 15, 2010572 photos were accidentally downloaded to my Druid when I synced to my PC. The problem is, I CAN'T DELETE THEM! The "additional details" says "location unknown".
