View 32 RepliesI have run a bunch of Froyo roms already and nearly all of them have had significant bugs. Is there any suggestions for a froyo rom that is the most reliable and stable at this point, or am I just being unpatient? I'm running ROM Manager, any suggestions from there? Or is elsewhere better.

View 7 Replies View RelatedRead in the past where things weren't working such as camera, bluetooth, GPS, LED notifications, etc. And then I stopped paying attention for about a month But now, my phone is bugging me every 30 minutes that an update is available, so I either have to move to stock 2.2 or something else, so would much rather have vanilla. So was just wondering if there are any vanilla Froyo builds with everything working? I see that two of them are in RC status, but are they stable enough to use without major headaches?

View 23 Replies View RelatedI have been reading a lot of positive things regarding Pete's Bugless Beast and I really want to flash this rom. I have read a lot of different opnions in many threads but I wanted to get more of a complete picture and ask this in a seperate thread.Which of Pete's roms do you feel is the most stable? I know different builds have different perks but in your experience, which BB runs the most stable? (Least issues and FCs).

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been running smoked glass 6.01 for about a week now and before that SG 5.01 for about a month. Other than bugless beast, I haven't tried any ROMs out. I'm quite pleased with SG, it seems stable and speedy. I'm kind of wanting to try out something new just for giggles.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI installed my first custom rom and kernal yesterday and unfortunately I'm having some battery problems. I left my phone on for 7 hours idle and it only has about 80% left.
The rom i used is BB .4, Kernal is Chevy ULV 1gig
My idle temp is 26c, basic use temp is 36c (browsing, right after quadrant use), is that high?
The usage breakdown is:
Total time on: 6hrs 52 m
Phone Idle: 26% 6hrs 43 min
Cell Standby 20% 6 hrs 49 min
LauncherPro 16% 5m 56s
Android System 12% 4m 32s
FlipClock Blackout 9% 3m 31s
Voice Calls 8% 1m 35s
Display 7% 6m 7s
If it is the kernal then i have to go back to stock right? because ULVs use the least amount of power?
During installation of rom and kernal, i did the wipe data/cache stuff. I also installed a custom boot animation. lots of stuff to do on my first day.
My phone is Running way to hot on this kernal for Pete and I haven't even put O.C. yet the speed is good but is their a way to get like a 800 Mhz Kernal for ESE, b/c haven't found one yet. Thanks....actually I'm not even sure Pete is running a kernal.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have the FRF57 Froyo ROM installed, and with it comes a 600 OC. I'd like to push it up to 1GHz, but I'm unfamiliar with OCing the Droid. Could you guys post a link to the kernal, please? I can't find one. I'm using the Clockwork flash. Also, to install the kernal, is it the same as installing the ROM? (unzip it into clockwork backup folder, boot in recovery, and restore it?)

View 4 Replies View RelatedFrom reading various posts, I feel like I'm one of the few that's not. I'm still flashing ROMs manually with SPRecovery update.zips and nandroid backups but I'm seriously thinking about using Koush's ROM manager. What are the advantages/disadvantages? Is it stable?
View 49 Replies View Relatedthere are so many different OC kernels out there I figure it would be good to have a poll to see which is everyone's favorite, not roms but actual OC kernels. Also when I mean fastest I dont mean highest ghz but fastest at the same clock speed
View 22 Replies View RelatedIt looks like Chevy's kernal is breaking the root access for Titanium. Anyone else having the same issue? When I first installed BB .7, Titanium worked fine. Then I installed Chevy's kernal and now it doesn't have root access. Looks like a couple other people are having the same issue on AllDroid. I'm using BB .7 with Chevy's 1ghz kernal.

View 10 Replies View RelatedJust tried to oc to 1.3 ghz, tons of random reboots so i went down to 1.1 ghz, with the same thing. So I guess I'm stuck at 1ghz for now. Could this be the ROM I am running (smoked glass v4.0) or is 1 ghz just the max for my phone to be stable? How fast are you guys going while staying stable?
View 49 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone have a 100%, perfectly stable gallery? Because, oy vey, my gallery has been glitch-tastic since I started flashing Froyo ROMs. Just changing wallpapers is a major pain in the rear. I guess I wont have a stable gallery until the 2.2 source code hits the AOSP.
View 17 Replies View RelatedI can't recommend upgrade your ROMs to 2.2.1, yet, especially for newbies. A number of folks are bricking and are unable to restore as there is no stable sbf (restoration program script) at this time. So, if you do update, understand that you're kinda like jumping without a parachute, at this point. Hopefully, it will change soon. So you fly at your own risk, newbie. As for me? I'm waiting. I have plenty enough stress in my own miserable life to add more! You know me, I've got the new rooter's backs.
View 49 Replies View RelatedFlipping back nd forth between pages and forums etc, gets kind of confusing. I am running Smoked Glass 5.0, would like to try the 2.1 based ROM..
Can any one direct me to a link to find the download of the stable Simply Stunning, I believe it was the 1.2 not 1.25?
A link and if there are instructions great, if not well I will keep reading.
I have rooted by the way with DroidMod.
I recently rooted 2.1update1, I backed up twice with sprecovey...2.1 unrooted, 2.1 rooted. Then downloaded Ti backup and did a full backup of apps. I bought ROM manager and downloaded p3droid 1ghz kernal and flashed it. I know it probably worked but I ended up restoring to the back up that ROM manager made just before flashing p3droid kernal. How can I restore my settings and apps after I flash a ROM? Is there a way to add p3driod to over clock without overiding my apps?Didn't want to get in too deep without finding out first. I read for weeks before I rooted, Im ready for the quick answer. Im considering CM or Nexbeast...not sure. I really don't mind the rooted droid OS, but id like to use wireless tether and over clock a little. If I flash to a new rom can I redownload TI backup and have it restore all my apps from my SD? I also have sprecovery backups on my PC, but that wont help because they were created on stock 2.1 rooted.

Now with Froyo sporting its own Bluetooth voice dialer, does anyone know if there's a way to switch to it? I am running 2.2. View 8 Replies View RelatedSwype on the Droid X with 2.1 originally had a black keyboard with bigger keys to swype or type on. With Froyo, it's now showing as a white keyboard with smaller keys that looks look the Swype keyboard I had originally had on my Droid 1. Is this the "new" keyboard look for Swype on the Droid X or is there a way to bring back the old look before upgrading to Froyo on the Droid X? The version that is showing on the DX now is 1.64.40.9380.
