I might be leaving my incredible to come to the Droid X bc I'm having a lot of problems. I don't want to switch to another phone and have a lot of problems. I'm having random restarts, mms messages not downloading, blown speakers, email not working with aol. Yeah so what problems are happining with the Droid X?

I've had my Incredible since 4/28, and everything has been working smoothly up until about last Thursday night when it just restarted out of the blue while I was listening to music. Then right after it booted up, it restarted again, then again about seven more times. I got fed up and took out the SD card and it seemed to stop after that, so I haven't put the SD card back in since then.
Just now, Wednesday, about a week later, I was browsing around on the internet and all of a sudden, it restarted, and then again, and again, and again. I've read that it is because of poor signal strength or something like that so I had just enough time to put it in airplane mode before it restarted again.
Side note, that theory about it being caused by poor signal seems to make sense because the first time it happened to me I was out of town in a city that gets very bad coverage with Verizon, and now today when it started happening again was at my house where for some reason I get very bad service with the incredible, my old phone worked perfectly fine in my house but the incredible gets terrible service, and so does my brother's Droid. In fact, about two weeks ago I got my first dropped call on Verizon in about three years, and it was in my house.
So anyways, I decided to put it in airplane mode, and just after I put it in airplane mode it restarted again. Then when it booted back up my Helix Launcher 2 home screen went back to the standard Helix Launcher 2 icons, I go into my messages and everything is gone, my contacts are all gone, everything is gone. I go to the app menu and all my apps are still there, but when I start up an app, all the custom settings are default now. I went into the settings and my accounts are all still there. I click on internet and I get a terms of service agreement, it's as if I am booting it up for the first time, but for some reason my apps and accounts are all still there.
I turn airplane mode off thinking it might have something to do with it not being connected to my google account, and I restart it again and everything is still gone. I don't know what to do, has this happened to anyone before? I feel like there should be a way for me to get this stuff back since my apps are still there and my accounts are still synced, but random things are missing like my contacts and messages etc. This is really starting to get annoying, I have insurance and everything, but I really don't want to exchange it for another one because I've read that other people who have had there phones replaced have still had the same rebooting problem, even after going through multiple replacements.
Calls with connect but I can't hear them and they can't hear me.
View 4 Replies View Relatedhave a droid motorola. my phone randomly started playing a game but i dont even have a game in my phone however i couldn't turn it off so i took battery out and put it back to reset it but got stuck on the eye. and when i check my gmail downloaded 3 paid games. is this because an app im using? im waiting for my replacement phone. and want to avoid this to happen again.

If I tap on the folders, the inbox shows that there are the correct number of emails sitting in my inbox on the comcast server, but they never download to the droid.I've tried removing the account and adding it back, same issue. It never gets past loading messages.

Within the past couple of days i have been suffering from thje random restart problem at least once a day. Anybody know what the cause of it is and how to stop it? Same with the data lock up? what gives? I dont recall either of those 2 things happening with the stock os but the airplane mode problem did. Also my wifi tether absolutely does not work and nobody has been able to tell me why yet lol. That was one of the main reasons i rooted and flashed. I dont really wanna go back to stock because my battery life is better. What gives here with these 3 problems?
View 12 Replies View RelatedSo its been about a month and a half that I've had my captivate. I've had a few problems with the phone and have searched them, I have found most have the same problems but no one gives any answers to what you can do to fix it.
Problems:
.phone restarts at random times until the battery is taken out and put back in
.text messages delete at random times
.phone does not sync with Facebook
.it does not retrieve e-mails
.gets a bit laggy at times for a 1gHz processor
.seems like the side buttons seems a smashed in and do not "click" properly
Does anyone have any answers to these problems?
Also I wanted to do a factory restore so how can I save my files/ contacts/ etc before I do this to see if it fixes any of the problems.
How to backup my phone would be great..

Well, i have putted to be notified in 1 hour if i have new emails the problem is the phone didn't check the emails and didn't have the notifications. only if i enter on the "Mail" application i have the new emails.. if i didn't enter, this didn't check the emails. What is the problem?. I have APN droid installed and i have deactivated the 3g 2g gaps. But i have configuration the WIFI to stay connected always.

All my gmail based accounts are showing up with HTML formatted messages as they should but all of the HTML formatted messages on my exchange account end up looking like markup language. I turned off the accept all certs and I'm now able to properly download attachments from exchange just not able to get HTML emails to display properly.

Now that has stopped completely. If I want to check for new email messages I have to manually start the email app and manually select refresh for the app to go out and look for new messages (via Yahoo pop mail). What happened? Is there a simple setting somewhere that got switched?

However I want to be able to access my companies email I have set up through powweb.com (they host my website). Anyway I keep getting error messages that it could not finish set up or sometimes it says Error: check user and password details. I triple checked and made sure I was putting in the right info and then I even went on the powweb website and made sure I was putting in the correct settings and even contacted someone there and they gave me some info to try and help and I am still getting error messages. I have tried POP and IMAP. The exchange account, is a fee based account.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy HTC Eris stops receiving mms messages after about 5 weeks and sometimes sms messages dont come thru either. This is the second time this has happened. Often im not even alerted that a message tried to be received. Other times i get this generic message as an incoming message that says who its from, the message size (which always states 30kb), and expires (5 days from the current date). It also shows a gray box that you can touch to download but it tries and then sends a message to the bottom of the phone that says "download of message unsuccessful." Occasionally when a new pic message tries to come thru, it forces an old unsuccessful picture message thru. Verizon has no answer or resolution nor does HTC. I have tried using the other message programs and they dont work either.

View 4 Replies View RelatedDroid X newbie but not new to Android. I've had a Droid for a year (almost) and my work phone just got upgraded form a bb to an X. I'm having trouble with the stock email program being able to send email fro my personal account. I use pair networks for my email hosting. I am able to set up the account to work fine on K9 mail, but not the stock email program. My corporate exchange email doesn't like K9 mail for some reason, so I don't want to use that for personal email if I have to. I notice on K9 mail, there's an option to check to not login for outgoing mail, but on the stock email program, it always asks for user name and pw in the outgoing settings. I have tried leaving them blank, but to no avail.

I could not get Touchdown to work either until I discovered my Microsoft ISA server, in front of my Exchange 2003 server, was not setup right. Once I got that setup ISA Server 2004: Supporting Both Basic and Forms-based Authentication with a Single External IP Address and Web Listener (v1.1) the sync started working greatThe benefits of Touchdown are immense and I am no longer interested in Froyo handling of Exchange email. I am an IT guy and will recommend this program to all my android folks.
View 3 Replies View RelatedUsing the stock Messenging app with the universal inbox. I have a couple of IMAP accounts setup and push turned on. Something odd happens to the Messenging app that prevents it from getting mail. It will hang quite often to the point where no mail is received at all until it gets unstuck (sometimes up to a half hour). If I go into the email account, it shows the spinning arrows as if it is trying to sync, but it just spins.
At first, I tried all the usual troubleshooting. I removed and re-added the e-mail accounts. I turned push off and on. I rebooted. I tried just about everything I could think of, but this has been going on since I got the Droid X. I made sure it was set to sync even when wifi is off. I'm not sure what is causing it to hang, but I removed and added each account and it's still happening. Eventually, I'll get the emails but sometimes it takes a half hour or more before it frees itself up. I can't even use a Task killer to kill the messenger app because when I open it back up, the arrows are still spinning.
I started having an issue a couple days ago (after not making any changes to any settings) where anything with the slightest hint of.bass sounds awful in the car. It sounds fine on headphones, and the same car adapter I use on the DX sounds just fine with other devices through the same speakers. Doesnt matter if I use Pandora or the native music app. What gives? I checked my audio effects settings already and no changes there help. Im baffled because all the things that could be wrong work fine with other devices.
