The clock is still to bright in night mode and the button lights stay on still. I have updated to 2.1 and was hoping it had been fixed of someone found a work around for this.

I have found ( and I willing to bet many already know this) that the sensor in the upper right side of the screen is what determines if the button lights are on or off. In a well lit room the lights will be off, if you cover that sensor or darken the room the lights come on.
What we need is someone smarter than I am to make an app or widget that disables that sensor when the phone is in the dock, if that is possible.
I am having problems with my girls DINC. The four menu button light does not come on. Me and her both have the same phone. Both were asleep and when I wake both up mine lights up but on hers it doesnt. I am not sure if there is a setting or something that I am doing wrong. She is on stock froyo and I am using redemption rom 2.0.4 but I am not sure that has anything to do with it.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI wanted to share my method of converting my windows 7 media center TV recordings to h264 for the Droid. This may work for Vista, but assumes that you have the media pack, so your files are .wtv files (not dvr-ms).
I use MCEBuddy 2.0 Beta 11. This is a small service to convert the wtv to mp4. I Edited the mcebuddymencoder.conf file and change the H264 mencoder settings to this.

In order to deal with the pain, she is using a program called "Hypno-Babies", which consists of a series of hypno-induction preparedness CDs, and then a "Birthing" CD to listen to."You feel no pain. Your pelvis is not splitting. Your vagina is not tearing..." I'm being as supportive as possible, as I have a role in this as well, but this is our second, and I know she's going to be asking for the epi about 2 hours into it!She wants to use her Droid to listen to the CD while she is in labor. The problem is that any distraction through the Droid will have an impact on the whole thing. (If the incoming messages notification sounds like a chicken, she might come out of all this clucking!) Well, maybe not that bad, but it will screw up her concentration.I use Sound Manager on mine, but I need to make sure that there's absolutely no chance that my wife's Droid does anything other than behave like an mp3 player.

In the stock browser I can turn page by flicking finger on the screen, but isn't using hardware rocker much more precise? Is there a way to do that? In dolphin the rocker sort of does that, but it makes an annoying beep as well. I can turn off sound beforehand to avoid that, but it's easy to forget to turn up sound afterwards. I migrated from HTC 6800 (WM6), the rocker smartly only changes volume when using the phone, while in other situations it smartly turns page instead. Can Droid be up to that?

Is there a setting to keep the notification light going until the notification has been checked?I don't like having to power it up to know if I have a message, email, or missed call. Htc liberty/Intruder lcd hvga 3.2" I want to be able to turn off the display lights. Suppose, I set Display/Screen timeout to 10 sec just before locking and blackness, the screen seems to "dim", it looks as if the lights in the back of the screen is turned off, but the screen is on/visible and it is very comfortable especially at night. screen filter & cf lumen CAN NOT & DOES NOT do this(atleast I couldn't do it).
Is there any way to achieve tjis? similar to editing some system file to turn off softkey button backlight?

I have this really crappy eye disorder I inherited genetically. It means my ability to see low light when other light is on is really poor. It's called Retinues Pigmentation. When the screen of my HTC Hero is on, I can't see the physical buttons at the bottom at all, they just come across too dark to me in contrast to the light screen. What would be really be ideal is for the buttons to stay on as long as the screen is on. Basically, if the screen is lit, so are the buttons. I know this would deplete energy, but it would be totally worth it for me. Do you think there is any way I could implement this, and is there someone I could mention it to for the future?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a Samsung Galaxy Express i437, I used Odin v3.7 to root and flashed the CM11 ROM with ClockWorkMod recovery. Everything works fantastic, its so much faster than OEM 4.1 Jellybean! I bought it just to practice root & ROM for my first try (dont wanna brick my S4)....not bad for a cheap 4G Wal-Mart go-phone i'd say.
The only issue I found so far is that the external LED lights (menu and back) flicker non-stop, wasting a little bit of battery. It always stops the flickering by locking the device one more time, but sometimes I dont notice it when its laying around and it takes a toll on the power. Is there a way to fix it, and how would I fix it? I am just now learning about Terminal Emulator commands, and sideloading and whatnot. I do have the LED Light Flow APK controlling the lights on my S4, maybe it is obsolete for the i437 since I didnt notice LED notifications.

My goal is to have a TextView in the top left and top right corner, a large "hello world" TextView in the exact middle of the screen, and then a button at the bottom of the screen.My issue is, to center the "hello world" TextView vertically, I need to set the layout_height="fill_parent".However, this causes the middle TextView to cover and hide the button at the bottom of the screen. Is there a better way to do this than what I am currently trying?
