Motorola Droid X :: What Notification Lights Mean?
Jul 21, 2010Since the update, I'm getting blue, green and purple notification lights? Do I know what they mean? No. Can I find them in the manual? No. Am I frustrated?

Motorola Droid : Configure Notification Lights For SMS - Gmail
May 6, 2010I've had my Droid since they came out last year. Somehow I was able to configure notification lights for Gmail and Handcent, but I don't remember how. I had to wipe my phone and start over and now I can't figure out how I did that. I have Touchdown Pro for Exchange and that allows me to customize the LED for that app, but I can't find the settings for Gmail or Handcent. I know they used to be there, but I can't remember what I did to make them appear. I must have installed a third-party app, but I have no idea what it was. Any idea how I did it? I'd really like to get those notification LEDs back!

Jul 8, 2010I noticed when I get a message, the notification light will only last a little while before it stops blinking. Is there a setting to keep the notification light going until the notification has been checked?I don't like having to power it up to know if I have a message, email, or missed call. I just like glancing at it to see if the light is blinking.

Apr 25, 2010In my android application I have the following As far as I am aware, I have followed the steps in the documentation to set it to play a sound from the resources folder, and to flash the lights. However, neither of these happen. It does, however, vibrate, as instructed. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong here? I've looked through the permissions that I can give the app in the AndroidManifest.xml file, but I can't see one for letting it flash the light or make sounds. Code...

Apr 2, 2010The clock is still to bright in night mode and the button lights stay on still. I have updated to 2.1 and was hoping it had been fixed of someone found a work around for this.

Apr 4, 2010I have found ( and I willing to bet many already know this) that the sensor in the upper right side of the screen is what determines if the button lights are on or off. In a well lit room the lights will be off, if you cover that sensor or darken the room the lights come on.
What we need is someone smarter than I am to make an app or widget that disables that sensor when the phone is in the dock, if that is possible.

Oct 26, 2009Alright well I got my Hero on release date(After going through 3 Pre's! ). Well so far I love it. Battery life has been just fine(And thats with the system at 100% lol), and the apps are amazing. But I have a question. I noticed there's two LED lights at the top of the phone. Yet I've only ever seen one light up! Is this how it is for everyone else? Only my left one lights up(green for texts, and amber for charging). And my friend's G1's Scroll Wheel also lights up, and was just wondering why ours doesn't.

May 14, 2010I purchased the HTC Incredible and got it last week. In the last couple of days, I noticed the buttons at the bottom of the phone were sometimes lit and sometimes not. I went into the Verizon store today to pre-order the TV out cable and asked the tech about the lights. He said HTC was aware of several bugs and there will be an update shortly that will remedy them. On the TV out cables, they're all sold out. They're selling like hotcakes - same as the Incredible.

The weird thing is that I use Google Voice, so I never get voicemail notifications except for this one. It won't clear even when I clear other notifications away. May 10, 2010I just yesterday noticed they aren't working, emails nor text messages. I don't know when it started not working, but I think it was working when I first installed bugless beast v1.0
LED notifications:
Stock email = none
Stock messaging = none
Custom stock messaging in BB = none
Handcent = none
I wiped cache/data/system everytime I installed a ROM to fix it.
Bugless beast v1.0 (twice) - not working
NexBeast - not working
Leaked BB - not working
It was working before with the leak for sure.
I don't have any other roms and with the alldroid drama I can't get them.
I checked setting and spare parts multiple times for some setting to no avail.

Jul 16, 2010I got the X synced with my Exchange server just fine. The problem is that I'm not getting a notification whenever I get a new email. I have to go into the Email app to see if anythings come through. I have it set to give me an audible alert and that's not working either. This will be a real deal breaker if I can't get it fixed.

The problem is, it will only alert me to the first email, and if I do not check it, it will not alert me for subsequent emails. While I realize the rationale behind this, I really like how my BB tells me every time I get an email. Anyone have an idea on how to enable this?

But I do miss the black notification bar.I saw that Metamorph could do some settings, and I installed their blue theme, but all it did was change the colors of certain things, I thought I was going to get the bar too.So, how I do get the black bar with the cool round battery?
