I'm running Absolution (cm7) on my htc inspire. how can i turn off the 4 softkey lights on my htc inspire (home, menu, back, search)? i want the softkey lights turned off after an interval of a few secs. how do i do this?

I am running cm7 atm.
Htc liberty/Intruder lcd hvga 3.2" I want to be able to turn off the display lights. Suppose, I set Display/Screen timeout to 10 sec just before locking and blackness, the screen seems to "dim", it looks as if the lights in the back of the screen is turned off, but the screen is on/visible and it is very comfortable especially at night. screen filter & cf lumen CAN NOT & DOES NOT do this(atleast I couldn't do it).
Is there any way to achieve tjis? similar to editing some system file to turn off softkey button backlight?

I have this error message on my Goophone Goophone V88 i5 Dual core RAM 1GB MTK6577. When I open the camera on the phone, I get the message. (Cant connect to the camera, turn off the flashing lights or other equipment).

Is there a setting to keep the notification light going until the notification has been checked?I don't like having to power it up to know if I have a message, email, or missed call. I just like glancing at it to see if the light is blinking.

Both were asleep and when I wake both up mine lights up but on hers it doesnt. I am not sure if there is a setting or something that I am doing wrong. She is on stock froyo and I am using redemption rom 2.0.4 but I am not sure that has anything to do with it.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've had an HTC Inspire for about 8 months now, with very little problems except the occasional frustrating frozen screen or two. A few months ago, I noticed that my "volume down" button wasn't working, so I would just manually change the volume through my settings. It wasn't a big deal, just irritating.
Last night, my phone was working just fine. I even remember waking up in the middle of the night and answering my texts.
This morning, I noticed it was turned off, so I attempted to turn it on, and it wouldn't work. Thinking it was dead, I plugged it in, got the "charging" screen, and attempted to turn it on again.
I got sent to the hboot screen. Unfortunately, it is not responding to the buttons being pressed. I've never rooted my phone, so I'm pretty sure this is all due to my volume down being stuck (and therefore hard resetting when I press "power.")
Is this fixable to the extreme novice (which I'm assuming it isn't)? Or, if as an AT&T customer, will they give me a replacement, or is this beyond their realm? I know when I lost my battery cover once, they wouldn't give me a new one and said I had to go to HTC.
I'll looking at replacing my iPhone 3G with a HTC Inspire. Since I am a Mac user I have a couple of questions:
1 - Best way to sync the HTC to my MacBook Pro.
2 - Best way to get update for my phone; can I get updates straight from HTC to my phone or do I have to use a computer? If so can I do it with a MacBook Pro?
I bought this because it was cheap and I really needed an android phone. I searched all over the internet and I can't seem to find any solutions. Its running android Gingerbread 2.3.6.

But I still want to flash custom roms. Should I look for inspire custom roms or evo custom roms or does it matter?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an HTC Inspire with Android 2.3.5. Last night my stock browser kept crashing on two particular Wikipedia pages. I cleared the cache and even went to Menu > Settings > Apps and cleared data for the browser (which also erased my bookmarks). It still crashed on those pages. Wouldn't you be surprised if you kept crashing on ordinary Wikipedia pages? No other pages crashed.
(1) I've read that anti-malware programs for Android are not very good - someone tested them and the free ones found only 10% of malware they should have found. Paid ones were slightly better. Are there any malware scanner apps that are good? I prefer ones that aren't always running.
(2) Are you supposed to update the stock browser? If so, how do you do it? It might be automatic.
(3) Do you think I should upgrade to a newer Android? When I went from 2.3.3. to 2.3.5, it took a long time and I didn't like some of the changes.
I can't get Chrome because you have to have Android 4.0 or later.Does your stock browser often crash for no apparent reason? I've had this phone for a year. Before, it only crashed on pages I rarely visited and were heavy in effects.

In call voice sounds really metallic, like speaking in to a big pan. Also, ringtones and speakerphone sound funny too, and I also find volume low, even when it's at it highest value. Desire HD
I just rooted my inspire last night and everything went good then i started messing with an app called "andriod overclock" I went to extras then i dont remeber exactly what I clicked but i dragged it all the way to the left..i rebooted the device because it said it was required. now when I try to open an app i get an error saying something like force close? my phone is also like 10 times slower. i can still open some apps but most wont. if i open the settings it closes after about 5 seconds.
