When I charge the Droid via the USB cable it seems to me that the plug that goes into the Droid appears to not want to come out. Like it should be a button or something that would release the plug from the Droid itself.
So my question is, is there a button or something that I am suppose to be pressing to release the plug from the droid or is just that hard to remove?

I like to stream pandora while I drive using a headphone cable to my aux in on the car stereo. If I try to use my car charger (bought from VZW), things start to go a little haywire and the phone will stop the music. I've been troubleshooting, but don't think its the aux cord or charger.

View 3 Replies View RelatedJust got the EVO last Friday. It replaces a Samsung Moment that died a horrible death.
When I charge it with the cable that came with it, it charges fine. But if I charge it with the Moments cable, it doesn't charge. The battery icon is animated as if it's charging and Spare Parts reports that it's charging, but the battery level continues to fall as if it's not plugged in.
When I charge with a non HTC USB cable the phone wont charge. I've had it on for the last 16 hours and although the light goes orange and the little battery animates as though it's charging it hasn't budged since I put it on... I haven't tried it with the official cable yet but does anyone know of any reason why a non-HTC USB cable wouldn't do the same as a HTC branded one?

So, please charge when I plug in the power adapter, but please don't charge when I plug in the USB data cable. The reason I'm asking is because with all of experimenting I'm doing, trying to get my USB PC to phone connection working, my battery is being overcharged. Yes overcharged to the extent that the phone has even popped up a message once or twice telling me to disconnect, that the battery is fully charged.

But all I get is an option to mount the SD card as a drive to copy files. It doesn't seem to be able to charge the phone. Do I need a special cable, or maybe a second charger from T-Mobile? I had always charged my old MP3 player with USB, so I figured the phone could do the same thing.
View 12 Replies View RelatedPlease correct that by constructing a fixation for the USB-port on boardside, caused by the leverage-forces when plugging in or unplugging the charging-cable, so that it cannot break at the solder spots so easily any more. I think one or two gills, pressing from above onto the USB-Port, constructed into the case, would be enough to solve the problem. So the leverage-forces wouldn´t take effekt to the solder-spots of the USB-Port, but to the (new constructed) gills and the case of the X10.

The stock wall charger that came with my Droid X is the 5PN5504A, which has an output rating of 5.1V, 850mA. My understanding is that the mini-USB interface is an industry standard for power delivery to portable devices, which I take to mean that any charge source should work (wall charger, desktop PC, laptop) as long it has uses an USB interface. So any USB-->miniUSB cable can be used to charge any mini-usb device, regardless of power source, right?
I already have several other mini-usb devices, such as bluetooth headsets, which all came with their own wall chargers. However, I checked these chargers, and they all have different outputs: 5V @ 200mA, 5V @ 150mA, 5V @ 550mA. Because the default Droid X cable was so short, I was tempted to use these other chargers. I plugged in the 5V@150mA charger to my Droid X, and found that the phone does not show it's charging (the lighting bolt isn't there, there's no animation on the battery indicator). So then I switched to the 5V@550mA charger, and it DOES charge....................
I've been charging my phone on my laptop and it won't charge past 40%. Can someone please help me?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI was looking at changing Roms and did not have my cable with me. So a quick search of "ftp" brought up swiftp which turns your phone into a Ftp site. Wifi or 3g. I can now just pull up my sd card and everything on it from my pc without plugging anything in. I was able to push a 78mb file straight to my phone from my pc. View everything on my card. I know this might be old news to everyone else but new to me so i thought i would share the info.

The pc itself will recognize that a device has been connected and begins the add new device wizard. The phone however will fail to prompt the mounting options in the notification bar. Im not really sure what could have caused this since i havent made any changes to my phone since manually installing 2.2 last week and grabbing a few new apps. BUT, I did drop my phone earlier today onto my garage floor. Any chance these mounting troubles may be a result of the fall?

After texting a few people, etc. it went down to 30% while still on the charger but after I left it alone it went back to 40%. I turned the phone off and back on and unplugged it from the wall and plugged it back in and nothing's changing. This has never happened to me before.

My computer says that the phone is unrecognized. This all came about yesterday when I flashed BB V.3.Froyo. I was running chevys 1.2Ghz kernel with every other rom and have had no issues. I tried a recovery, and switching kernels, and even pulling the battery but nothing has seemed to fix the issue.

However when i plugged it in, the phone just loads the motorola symbol and losses power and goes back to the motorola symbol again. it does this over and over as long as the phone is plugged into power. when its not plugged in, it wont even turn on.I then held down the center button on the directional pad while it was load (accidently) and it went to I guess what is called the bootloader. It then gave a message: Battery too low, cannot load program.this message blinks on and off the screen until u unplug the phone. I have no idea why this would happen. I did absolutely nothing to the phone and Im totally bummed out.
