View 12 RepliesI was looking at changing Roms and did not have my cable with me. So a quick search of "ftp" brought up swiftp which turns your phone into a Ftp site. Wifi or 3g. I can now just pull up my sd card and everything on it from my pc without plugging anything in. I was able to push a 78mb file straight to my phone from my pc. View everything on my card. I know this might be old news to everyone else but new to me so i thought i would share the info.
View 4 Replies View RelatedAs of this afternoon my phone is no longer recognizing when i plug it in to my pc via the usb cable. The pc itself will recognize that a device has been connected and begins the add new device wizard. The phone however will fail to prompt the mounting options in the notification bar. Im not really sure what could have caused this since i havent made any changes to my phone since manually installing 2.2 last week and grabbing a few new apps. BUT, I did drop my phone earlier today onto my garage floor. Any chance these mounting troubles may be a result of the fall?

If I try to use my car charger (bought from VZW), things start to go a little haywire and the phone will stop the music. I've been troubleshooting, but don't think its the aux cord or charger.

View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen I charge the Droid via the USB cable it seems to me that the plug that goes into the Droid appears to not want to come out. Like it should be a button or something that would release the plug from the Droid itself.
So my question is, is there a button or something that I am suppose to be pressing to release the plug from the droid or is just that hard to remove?
Does the Xperia X10 come with a data cable? i like to transfer stuff to & from my computer.

View 4 Replies View RelatedThese days I try and try to send data(stream) from an Android-Mobile to a PC VIA USB cable,
I made it good that a socket("10.0.2.2", 6543) on the android emulator sending data stream to a ServerSocket(6543) On a PC , before which I had run "adb forward tcp:12345 tcp:6543".
But when I setup a socket("10.0.2.2", 6543) on a REAL Android-Mobile and a serverSocket on the PC, the socket on the Android-Mobile can NOT send data to the ServerSocket on the PC.
Why can't I use the socket on the Android-Mobile to send data to the ServerSocket(6543) on the PC. What is the different between the REAL device and the android emulator. Or , is the IP setted to be wrong? How can I get the IP of the PC VIA USB ADB?
On the other hand, I make it out to send data from a PC to a REAL Android-Mobile as socket and serverSocket.
All I'm looking for is a duplicate of the wall charger/usb cable that came with the Droid. That and the ability to buy it online.
The Verizon website doesn't seem to carry it - has anyone had any luck anywhere else? A retailer they can recommend? I've mucked about on NewEgg and Amazon but have not found it.
Is there a hidden setting somewhere where I can tell the phone not to charge when I plug in the USB data cable? So, please charge when I plug in the power adapter, but please don't charge when I plug in the USB data cable. The reason I'm asking is because with all of experimenting I'm doing, trying to get my USB PC to phone connection working, my battery is being overcharged. Yes overcharged to the extent that the phone has even popped up a message once or twice telling me to disconnect, that the battery is fully charged.

I have been trying it out the last few days and have noticed "crackling" in the left speakers. If i fiddle with the Aux cable that plugs into the phone it clears up. But as soon as I let go its back. Has any1 else had this problem? Is the only fix to return the phone? I have a 39/09 btw.

I went to install a theme on CM6 final and now my EVO will not bring up a 3G connection anymore even after flashing a stock rom. It will not connect to data or even show the 3g symbol.
I can still make calls though.
Does anyone know what setting might have changed or anything I can do to get my data back?
how can i get my battery to last longer? It stinks that I paid $300 for a phone with a battery that won't last very long if running applications.I hear all of these commercials about droid being able to walk, talk and chew gum at the same time but they fail to tell you that less than 2 hours later the phone dies.Back to the question,is there a way to make it last longer? I tried screen brightness but then i can't read the phone outside.

Ever since I rooted I can no longer use any voice search on my droid. It always tells me that its has to force close as soon as I click on the icon. Is this a known issue with bugless beast 1.2 that I just have to deal with? I love having my phone rooted but id rather have a fully functioning phone that a rooted phone.

Until last night when I plugged the USB into my computer and a window popped up saying it didn't recognize the USb device, this device has malfunctioned yada yada yada. Motorola doesn't know why, verizon doesn't know why, I can't claim it under warranty( i bought from a friend) and insurance doesn't cover it b/c its a "malfunction".
View 3 Replies View RelatedWell, like others have mentioned in this forum, my Droid has started to get noticeably better battery life. I'm definitely lasting the entire day now, and I think I could go longer if I didn't work in a building with spotty reception at best (constantly switching back and forth from 1X to 3G with 1 bar). Conceivably, I'm not installing as many applications on the phone as I did in the first 1-2 weeks of ownership (I'm on week 2.5) so I'm not hitting the battery as much. But, what I'm really wondering about is if you guys think that a background backup process is running during the first few days (and after new app installations) that eats up battery power. Once the Droid reaches a 'steady' state, the backup process isn't running anymore and the Droid can last longer on a single charge. Does this sound reasonable or am I reaching...or just plain wrong. In which case, why is the battery lasting longer into the day. From my recollection, LiIon batteries don't have a memory affect so cycling them in is unnecessary.

Has it been pulled? I don't want to pay $10 for something that was free a couple of weeks ago, especially when it did everything I needed it to.
Any idea if its available anywhere else but the Martket ?
As I had to replace the phone (bad headphone jack) i seem to have lost all the old downloads i had previously. None of them auto restored.
Running the 2.1 UD rom and all of a sudden this morning I can no longer install apps. They DL ok, but never install. Apps are DL from market/appbrain. have not made any changes to the rom. Any suggestions?
