Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 :: USB Port Can Break By Plugging / Unplugging Charge Cable

Please correct that by constructing a fixation for the USB-port on boardside, caused by the leverage-forces when plugging in or unplugging the charging-cable, so that it cannot break at the solder spots so easily any more. I think one or two gills, pressing from above onto the USB-Port, constructed into the case, would be enough to solve the problem. So the leverage-forces wouldn“t take effekt to the solder-spots of the USB-Port, but to the (new constructed) gills and the case of the X10.

since I upgraded to android 2.1 ... when I connect the cable to charge the battery of my phone .. the phone software goes crazy .. it loops all the time .. does anybody have the same problem???

it works perfectly fine with main charge and usb charge and now it won't charge whatsoever no matter how i try. i did the factory reset on my x10. still it wont charge. btw when i turn off my x10 first, then connects it to the power. it would turn on my phone like others but just wont charge.

i've tried many times of connecting my X2 to my laptop via the cable provided, but the hp was never recognized. any way at all for me to counter this problem? it'll be a great help so that i could update & personalize my X2.tried bluetooth as well, but didnt work either. any tips @ tricks will be highly appreciated. I just bought an X10 Mini Pro when i connected my mini pro via USB cable it freezes! i had to download PC companion via SE Support site..after downloading and installing pc companion i tried connecting my phone again via USB cable, pc companion detected my phone but when prompting the phone to mount it freezes! Its frustrating! I can't upload my files to my mini pro..

I have a feeling my my X10 USB port is somewhat broke. It won't charge whatsoever via the mains or via PC USB cable. I have had to purchase a plug travel charger with the 2 prongs in order to get it working. Would the software have played any part in disabling the USB port on the phone - which a software upgrade or flash would solve or would I be looking at a complete USB port replacement on the Xperia?

I got my update 3 days ago, and now I dont feel my x10 anymore. Its not special anymore.. Anybody knows how to go back to 1.6? I got unlocked rogers phone in Canada. My battery used to go almost 3 days, now not even 24 hrs!! It does NOT charge more than %91.. Texting is so harder now, touchscreen is sooooo sensitive. app. menu sucks.

My phone charging port is broken. I have been unable to charge the phone and connect it to the pc. Can anyone advise if it is possible to still get the update. I have taken the phone to a few places to see if the port can be fixed but no one is guranteeing they can fix the com port.

The X10 does not charge the phone anymore. We think its a USB connection in the phone thats causing the problem. Soetimeswhen i move the cable (Where it connects to the phone) around abit I can get a charge but lately nothing at all. Tried other usb cords and battery's and still nothing. It just happened out of the blue.

First: I can't turn it on. When I press the on button my phone just vibrates (like those of the initial stage of turning on the phone) but there is no sony ericsson logo that appears and there's even no light in my keypads.
Second: I can't charge. I plugged my phone in the USB charger and only one red blink of light appeared, this appears like in a span of every 20 secs plugged in and not the normal charging light for my phone. I tried cleaning the ports for the USB charger even my batteries but still it doesn't work.

i noticed since going to 2.1 my battery wont fully charge. it stays plugged in on average 7 hours while i sleep and each morning its been around 90% full but no more. i know the battery will charge and discharge a little while charging but this one doesnt wanna go any higher.

Got this phone yesterday and was all good. Let the battery run out and plugged it into charger overnite. Didn't charge.Tried the usb into the pc and got the battery with the lightning bolt symbol. Plugged into wall outlet wont work. What gives? I tried taking out the battery for 5-10 mins and still nothing. The guy at support asked if I could turn the usb the other way like I was an idiot, and I explained to him that it only goes in one way. Any ideas? I plan on taking it back if I cant solve it.

I have an experia x10 mini pro and I am having problems with charging it. Sometimes it would charge then sometimes it wouldn't and it is already annoying the **** out of me. Another problem with it is that when I play music with it, it would just suddenly turn off by itself. I've tried to send it for fixing to sony ericson but they said that the problem is unfixable. And I only had my phone for 1 and a half month and im already having this problem. I tried to reason with the ericson people but they said there is nothing they could do.
If anyone has any idea on how to fix this.

Just received my X10 and as much as I can't wait to use it I'm going to give it a good charge overnight but everytime I connect it to the mains to charge the phone turns itself on...
If I turn the phone off, it then turns itself back on...is this the same with you guys. Is it possible to charge the phone from the mains while it's off?

the small usb port cover separate from the phone. Mine did yesterday. It's held in place by a small plastic tab which has a barbed end which should keep it attached. I guess with all the charging that this phone requires this little cover gets moved and twisted alot. It will still go back in place but I'm afraid that at some point it will separate and I'll lose it. My old HTS had a much more rubbery cover that always stayed attached to the phone.

I was aware of the poor customer reviews of the x10's battery life, but it's turned out to be much worse than expected.
I will take the phone off of charge at 8am and ensure that no tasks or apps are running, not use the phone throughout the day, then by 3pm the charge level is around 30%. Often, if I don't start charging the phone at that point at work, the phone will run out of charge completely by around 4pm. I check throughout the day and tasks are not running, so how is the charge being lost so quick?!
This problem is not getting better: I read customer reviews saying that the battery problem improves after around the first month, but my case is the opposite - it started to get even worse after the first month!
I am also having a problem with adding contacts to the address book - all of a sudden it seems that I cannot add new contacts. I will add one contact, go back to the address book and see the new contact being displayed in the list, but when adding a second new contact both the first and second new contacts disappear. I do not have a problem with phone memory, I have tried saving to both SIM and memory, have tried backing up my address book in case that makes a difference, have switched the phone off/on again, but all to no avail. I have tried adding a new number to an existing contact and the new contact seems to disappear. It goes without saying that I have read the x10 instructions on this subject (and it goes without saying that I make sure to press save/done when adding the new entry).
It's got to the point where I am starting to regret choosing the X10. On the face of it, this is an excellent phone, but two relatively simple problems are ensuring that I feel like I own the poor man's smartphone (dare I say it, I wish I chose an iPhone now).
I checked with both my network operator and the shop I bought it from - unfortunately I am outside the 28 day initial period (I am in the UK), so the only recourse offered to me by the shop is to give me £20 to buy either a new battery or to buy a new cheap pay as you go phone so that I can return the handset/battery to SE. The problem with both options is that I am not confident that it will resolve the problem.
Anyone else had any issues like this?
