Suddenly this morning my DROIDX decided that my wallpaper (an image that i have saved on my phone) is in landscape only mode.
When I go to edit the wallpaper the little box that comes up (so that you can crop, etc) is now landscape and not portrait. This results in two huge black bars above and below my picture on my wallpaper.
I dont know how this happend or how to get it back.........

I want to set this picture as my Wallpaper. The problem is, when I select "Set As", the picture suddenly appears with a lower quality.
Here's the picture as it is, and then after I press on "Set As".
As you can see, in the second picture, the wallpaper has a lower quality. I didn't zoom in or anything, but somehow I cannot get the best quality (shown as I see it in my gallery), as soon as I try to set it as my wallpaper, the quality lowers.
I must have the worst luck with phones. My Droid X was working flawlessly since I bought it last week and then suddenly won't get signal! I called VZW and was on the phone with them for over an hour. Tried everything and come to find out, my Droid Eris (previous phone) connects just fine. Some problem came up with the Droid X! Suffice it to say, they are sending a replacement in an week or two and I'm back to the Eris in the mean time. Anyone know how the heck this could've happened? I tried airplane mode on and off, turned the phone off and on, took out the battery while the phone was on, did a full system reset and went through all of the system stuff through VZW.
View 20 Replies View RelatedI have had my Droid since lauch. The GPS which i use a ton geocaching and with the google maps has been flawless. Now all of a sudden the GPS has stopped being accurate. It always says im half mile to where i am, google maps/navigation doesnt work, and neither does any program i have that uses GPS. Always says the GPS Signal is not there. Any tips or has anyone have had this happen to you?

Have not done anything other than the update and it worked fine after that. i did clear my cache for the first time yesterday, but the problem started before that.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI suspect many of you are like me and monkey with your phones so damned much that sometimes it's hard to pinpoint what changes we've made to which changes we've noticed. I've been running UD 9.0 ever since it came out. I've had great battery life with SetCPU profiles set from 250MHz to 1Ghz unless the battery goes below 30%, in which case it goes down to a max of 550MHz with a low still at 250MHz. The only thing I've changed recently is downloads of app updates, (...including SetCPU, btw). The other day my home WiFi crapped out, so I used a tether app and played around online with my laptop using my phone. I had never done it for so long before, but inside of about three hours, my battery was at 20%, when usually at that time of day, it's at hour 13 from last charge, and at about 40%. Now my battery is not lasting a whole 14 hours, where it used to go from 5 AM to 10 PM before it gave me the "15% juice left" heads up. I don't know if it's because of a bad SetCPU update, or a wifi tether app problem, or what.

Whereas I used to maybe only use 10% battery after the first 5-6 hours of my day, I find myself now down to 60% in that same timespan. The same apps I always run in the background are and everything has remained constant. What could be the issue?

Does anyone have a recommendation for a very high res wallpaper app? I woulnd't mind dropping a little change in the developers pocket as long as it is a quality app.
I have tried and cant seem to get any picture to show up right on the droid x for a wallpaper. How are you guys doing it. I found some pics to make a wallpaper and then resized then 960x854. I then sent to my gmail account and saved then put as a wallpaper which doenst look right at all.

I have an image on my phone that fits the screen perfectly but when I go to set it as a wallpaper it wants to crop it and cut the image pretty much in half which is really dumb. Anyway around this?

However I have noticed an issue. after enough switches the wallpaper updates, but the lockscreen background reverts to the droid X default.
Only rebooting the phone seems to help.

Whenever I use my facebook widget or handcent quick reply, as i'm typing with the virual portrait mode keyboard once I reach a certain amount of characters my screen flashes and one of the default wallpapers that comes with the droid replaces my LWP. Why is it doing this? Once i finish the message I can go back and change the wallpaper, but it's really annoying how it changes by itself

Today I took a call from the missus and when it ended and went back to the homescreen, the wallpaper had changed to that horrible yellow one. I've had this happen a couple of times now, once when exiting Messaging, and today, exiting the Phone.
Is there somewhere I can send a bug report to google for this? Anyone else had this happen? Is there a quick simple fix?
I want make a photo, thats the size of the default screen, my wallpaper. But the trick is I want it to stay in place when scrolling left or right to the other screens, not 'slide' like they normally do.

View 4 Replies View RelatedIt is so strange.when I take a photo in portrait format on my X it looks perfect, fills the screen and is nice and sharp.The problem is when i go ahead and set that photo as my wallpaper.At that point it pulls up this box that forces me to crop it down and this just kills the quality.things look much more blurry and less sharp.What can I do to have the wallpaper look just like the photo after I snap it?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI experimented with 2 different things. The Original file size for the wallpaper on the Camera app is 192x192. I edited a photo to be that size (the black and white one) and did the steps below. I then redid another one with a 854x480 pixel size photo and it also worked. So Anything up to 854x480 will work! Finally no more ugly grey looking wallpaper when taking pictures!
