Motorola Droid :: Unable To Send E-mail
Dec 9, 2009The native app seemed a little buggy with my att.net accounts so I installed K9 after reading through the forums. I was unable to send email through the native app, and it seems I can't send email with K9 either. This is with att.net as well as another server which synced well (folders and all) on the native app.

Dec 16, 2009Everyone I tried to download an attachment from my Exchange email account, it shows a little clock icon spinning, then after a few seconds it stops and gives back an error: "Alert: Network Error". I tried to change the setting to various settings (such as downloading size, attachment download location, etc.) to no avail. I was able to download the same attachment from my gmail account so this seems to be exchange server mail related.
I have a Sprint HTC Hero phone with Fresh 1.0 ROM loaded. I am not sure if this is Fresh related but I vaguely remembered that I was able to download attachment before but I am not sure.

Jul 23, 2010I configure email by using the android2.1 emulator. When I download the files from mail attachment I get the path content://com.android.email.attachmentprovider/1/1/RAW
I need to read that file data. How to read the data from the device? Is there any permission to read file from the phone memory.
My code is here:

In the eclipse file explorer /data/data/com.android.email/databases/1.db_att/1
Here 1 is store the attachment file. Now How to get the data from that?
General :: Oversize Attachment Won't Clear From Mail When Deleted
Aug 23, 2012I tried to delete a draft message having an attachment that is oversize for the gmail servers. The problem is, the gmail mail app is still trying to sync the oversize file/message to the (gmail) trash as i is deleted from the trash.
So none of the new mail is coming in until the gmail app on the phone can resolve it.Tried shutting down mail and restarting; tried phone restart.
The problem doesn't occur on a desktop computer using gmail because gmail rejects the message with the oversize file when trying to send.How do I 'clear' the deleted file so that the phone can complete the 'loading conversations...' process that is hung up on the inbox, trash and allmail?

Sep 23, 2010This is a big disappointment for me. As reported in the "known issues" leaked document, you cannot view a PDF from the standard e-mail client. You have to save the attachment to SD then use a file explorer to find the file and view it. A huge pain!
I was sure hoping yesterday's update would fix this issue, but it did not.
If VZW and Sammy hope to make this phone a contender in the business market, this must be fixed. Email 101 guys.
I know I can use Touchdown, but don't like how it integrates with the rest of the phone.
I was pleased to see pinch and zoom on the email client, unlike the Droid X/2, but this lack of PDF attachment viewing is just unacceptable!

When I do this, the chooser comes up and gives all kinds of choices, for anything that can handle text/plain i assume, because there's stuff in there that doesn't support "e-mail". How can I make it so that it will only show applications that support email (gmail, mail, yahoo mail, etc...) and not stuff like "Bluetooth", "Facebook", etc...

Feb 1, 2010Someone emailed me a pic to my gmail account and I can't view it on my phone. All I get is large white space with a little blue box in the middle with a question mark in it. But when I check my gmail from a browser (on the phone or a computer) I can see the pic just fine.

Feb 2, 2010I was having problems viewing attachments on my exchange email, for about 2 weeks contacted IT department they have no clue. last night and all day today i was able to view them using the stock quick office. just received a couple emails with attachments and guess what i can no longer view them. tried with and with out wifi turned on and off, no dice. the server is running exchange 2003 i receive and send emails fine. just can't view attachments.also calendar syncs. could it be a bad app? all though i have not downloaded any for weeks now.

She gets the notification every 5 min or so. I deleted the outgoing message but that didn't fix it. I turned notifications off and then then on and that didn't fix it.

My ring tone (same as before upgrade) fades if I pick up the phone to answer it....if I leave the phone on the counter it plays normally. 2. Where is the "send call to voice mail" option? Prior to that I would try to open attachments and would get the mesage that retrieving file and nothing would ever happen. I also had to reset my login for Facebook. I haven't noticed anything else yet. On another note, a coworker just got the HTC with 1.5 Android. He also likes the software but once he saw a few of the features that the 2.0.1 software has he wants an upgreade.

Jul 22, 2010I tried to set up my pop3 e-mail on my phone last night and I keep getting a "username or password is incorrect" error message on my incoming email. I am able to send e-mail from the phone.The funny thing is that if I check my email from my PC and empty any e-mail's that are in my inbox, then try to check for new e-mail's with my DroidX (knowing that there are none) I do not get any errors.The errors only occur when there are e-mails in my inbox.Didn't have any problems with this setup with the incredible.

Sep 5, 2010I've had a stock Froyo EVO for a couple of weeks. A colleague got one before me and one thing that he reported was that after the Froyo update he could not send pictures in the stock Mail app. I have replicated this. No matter the picture size, it will not send through the Maill app. Gmail works fine for this. My colleague says it worked before, but has broken on 2.2. Has this issue come up before? I couldn't find any threads for it. It's very annoying, because one of the main uses we have for the phone is to snap pictures of machines in the field and send them back to the office. Any help would be appreciated.
