The native app seemed a little buggy with my att.net accounts so I installed K9 after reading through the forums. I was unable to send email through the native app, and it seems I can't send email with K9 either. This is with att.net as well as another server which synced well (folders and all) on the native app.

My wife sent an email to her work email. It did not arrive and now she keeps getting a "unable to send mail (hotmail)" notification. And it wont stop. She gets the notification every 5 min or so. I deleted the outgoing message but that didn't fix it. I turned notifications off and then then on and that didn't fix it.
View 1 Replies View RelatedYesterday my Dinc started to post a message that it is "unable to send mail" via my Hotmail account. It has a script that you go through to check the settings and I have done that and all would appear to be OK. But, as soon as it checks for mail the message pops back up.
I have shut the phone off and have pulled the battery to no avail. The truly odd thing is emails are coming and going just fine, I'm just getting this dumb message with a tone/vibration warning.
I have a hotmail.co.uk account set up on the HTC mail app with a widget on my home screen. The only problem with this its that i receive emails straight away i can access any attachments and view the majority of them which is great, however when i try to send, it attempts then after a minute or so it comes up unable to send mail. i have tried changing the priority of these emails for high to low but have no luck. My settings are:
incoming
Protocol: POP
POP server: pop3.live.com
security type: SSL
server port: 995
Outgoing
SMTP server: hotmail.co.uk
Security type: SSL
server port: 465
I have just received my HTC desire, and setting up my email settings. I have three different email accounts, and set them all up. I set up the incoming server settings all fine, but when I put in the details for the outgoing server settings, and press NEXT button, I get the following each time: 'Cannot connect to the mail server to verify your account information. Your server is not responding.' This happens on all three accounts. I have used the same settings as on my computer which works when sending the emails on my computer. I finish the setting it up, but ofcourse I can receive emails, but can't send any.
View 10 Replies View RelatedNever had problem before, and not sure what happened. Today, I tried to send a phone pic via email, and came up with this error message on Notification Panel:
"Unable to send mail."
"The account setting is incorrect (Yahoo)."
I press on the actual Notification, and it automatically prompts me to change account settings.

Above is my current settings, but I did not change anything.
I re-entered my yahoo password to see if that's problem, and now get a warning message saying, "Authentication failed. Please verify username/password" but that's my correct username and password for Yahoo.
Im using G-mail so how do I send and attachment like a doc?

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy issue is that I am unable to send mail using an email account on my web domain - I get a generic message that states something similar to the email is unable to be sent. I was previously able to email on my old Blackberry using the same account, so I would think it'd be possible on the Droid X. I have tried all ports I saw suggested in the forums on my web host's site but none of the three I tried work for me. I am able to receive mail without any problems and my web host confirmed the below settings should be correct. I know for certain that the user name requires the full email address, rather than just the user name portion. Please see below and let me know what I need to change to get this working. I am unable to send or receive/download MMS messages on my droid with neither Handcent nor factory installed messaging program. When i try to send/ download MMS, it just hangs (little icon keeps going in circles like it's working but never finishes, nor are the messages sent). It's not reception. It's not impatience ( it's been hanging for days sometimes).

It's happened a few times over the last few days. A little red envelope appears with something that looks like a timer. Message eventually sends, but several minutes later.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI haven't used my google voice number for much more than calling but recently I have used it for texting and cannot figure out how to send pictures.The only way I have seen to add them is through the email that the text generates but it won't allow me to choose a picture it says choose one but none are available and the "pick" button does not work.any suggestions?.BTW running the newest bugless beast and also had the problem on the newest smoked glass ROM.

I see others are having the same problem though.I have the Droid X I am using the messaging that the phone came with not an added app (I am on Verizon). When I try to reply to a text from my husband I get a message saying "unable to deliver. Please re-send with area code". He is in my address book with an area code and the callback number has the area code. But next to his name it does not have the area code (again, it is entered in my phone with an area code). I have tried to delete his phone number, text my phone with his phone, and reply, but that still does not work. It is so frustrating and weird. Even when I do not have him in the address book the call back number (shown as cb#) has the area code, but up higher when his name would be does not have the area code.

When I do this, the chooser comes up and gives all kinds of choices, for anything that can handle text/plain i assume, because there's stuff in there that doesn't support "e-mail". How can I make it so that it will only show applications that support email (gmail, mail, yahoo mail, etc...) and not stuff like "Bluetooth", "Facebook", etc...

I was using the hero before and you could easily do it via vcard.For example, I want to send Mr Jones a contact number of a client, I can easily SMS him through contacts the client's contact numbers(emails and whatnots).However, this feature seems lacking on the Milestone. You can attach just about everything else except a person's contacts!Did I overlook something here? Or it just doesn't come with it?

First off I've got to say the 2.1 upgrade really improved my phone's speed and completely fixed the dialer lag I used to have. I'm very satisfied. My only issues are 2 small problems: 1. My ring tone (same as before upgrade) fades if I pick up the phone to answer it....if I leave the phone on the counter it plays normally. 2. Where is the "send call to voice mail" option? I don't get that option anymore when saving a call to contacts.

She only gets status updates on the main screen. Short of signing up for facebook SMS messages on their site, is there a way to get MotoBLUR to give notifications for everything in facebook? My BlackBerry(s) have always done this with the facebook application, and it's a nice feature.

I can't send a text message, and whenever I attempt to send a message, it simply comes back saying "Message Not Sent". It is highly frustrating.I have been into the Phone Information, under Testing, and it says that my GSM Disconnects is inactive, and the fail is because No Error. If I click on it, it takes me to the edit email account screen. When I go through the steps it says authentication failed even though my gmail account is fine. I don't know how to fix this. Also when I go to all programs I have 2 internet, 2 maps, and 2 navigator icons that weren't there before and won't delete.

I am able to send e-mail from the phone.The funny thing is that if I check my email from my PC and empty any e-mail's that are in my inbox, then try to check for new e-mail's with my DroidX (knowing that there are none) I do not get any errors.The errors only occur when there are e-mails in my inbox.Didn't have any problems with this setup with the incredible.
View 2 Replies View RelatedEven after numerous factory resets, through both the Volume Down+Send+End and Settings>Privacy>Factory Reset methods, my Eris has been unable to send or receive texts, and will not allow me to send or receive calls. When I try to text, I get an SMS error with Cause Code: 34 and Error Class: 3. When I try to call, I get an automated error saying that my phone can't be authenticated at this time, and am advised to call #8899. Even after doing so, I get the same authentication error. Wi-Fi seems to work correctly, and my Google and Facebook accounts all sync pretty much perfectly. Is anyone else having any kind of problem like this? And, either way, does anyone know of any possible alternatives that may fix the problem besides a total replacement of the phone?
