View 2 RepliesSomeone emailed me a pic to my gmail account and I can't view it on my phone. All I get is large white space with a little blue box in the middle with a question mark in it. But when I check my gmail from a browser (on the phone or a computer) I can see the pic just fine.

I tried e-mailing the video to myself, but when I try to download it from Gmail, it says "unable to fetch attachment" How can I send video to someone else? Is there a way to change the extension?

View 10 Replies View RelatedI can't take this stupid gmail sync issue anymore. I have been browsing web for the last 2 days and have tried everything short of throwing my phone against the wall. My MacbookPro will get the gmail and it will literally take an hour or so to get the mail on Droid (unless i refresh it myself). Isn't this a GOOGLE phone??? Of all the things gmail should be a breeze on this phone. I had a blackberry prior to Droid and email on Blackberry was never a problem. Infact I used to brag about how quick it was. Anyways I have been going through different forums and lots of people are having this similar problem. I hope we get a fix soon as this seems to be a software problem.
View 42 Replies View RelatedI've started using 2.2, and it's going great, but I've noticed that when I read and archive an email on my phone, it's not reflecting it on the computer.Previously whenever I'd run into issues like this I'd clear the cache on the Gmail Storage in the Manage Applications menu, and it'd resync, but in 2.2 there's only the Gmail app, and the Clear Cache button is grayed out.

View 2 Replies View RelatedOk. I followed all the correct guides and updated my phone to the 2.2hack. After initial startup and re install of boot strap my gmail will not sync. It has been stuck at "your email will appear shortly" for an hour I have a back up recovery of 2.1 but i really want to run 2.2 without getting the OTA.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a Motorola Droid X. I am trying to sync my contacts with my phone. Everything works fine until I try to add a new group (personal, work, etc). As long as the contacts are in my contacts everything syncs fine. when I put contacts in those groups that I created they never show up on my phone. Is there a setting I am missing? In gmail or phone.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have 3 gmail accounts. 1 gmail.com and 2 @otherdomains.com but using gmails service. My contacts will only sync with the gmail.com address. In my settings everything is checked to sync. What gives?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI was trying to update my contacts on my Gmail account with exactly what is on my phone so I went to sync and the stupid thing erased all my contacts off my phone. Any idea how I can push all my contacts from my phone to gmail once I do a backup, thank god I had mybackup app.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a regular gmail account setup, and it seems that there are roughly 10 emails sitting in my inbox from yesterday that were sent from 1pm-6pm. These were never sent to my device. What causes this issue?Oh, and this issue is on my Droid X.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIs there a setting to sync tasks in the gmail calendar? i dont see it and dont know how to accomplish this. The calendar syncs fine but the tasks?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have being trying to find an app the syncs Memos on my Droid X with either my computer or with Gmail. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find the right app. So my approach is to set up a contact in Gmail and populate the "Note" field only with my Memo information. Then on my Droid X & in Gmail, I set up a contact group titled "Memos" and added these contacts to that group. This way, the "Memos" are on my handheld and sync'd with Gmail and can be viewed separately from my other contacts when I look at the "Memos" contact group.
It would be nice if we were able to automatically sync our "groups" in Gmail with the "groups" on Droid X instead of setting up the groups manually, but this is another one of the stupid deficiencies in the Droid X software.
Is anyone noticing no rhyme or reason as to when Gmail syncs? I'm getting a long delay sometimes. I am hooked up to WiFi at work, but have low cell signal in this area. I looked for a setting to change sync time but didn't find one.
View 14 Replies View RelatedIf I turn off the gmail sync to save battery, is there a way to have it refresh on it's own every hour or so, or is it all or nothing? Either push or manual.
View 5 Replies View RelatedIdeally I would lie my work meetings to pop-up in the calendar on my droid.I cannot install google calendar at work thanks to a picky IT department.So, what I have done, is forward my emails/appointments to a secondary gmail i created for work use, that i can then sync on my personal laptop.my problem is that, my phone was setup using my primary(personal)gmail and the calendar program will not let you add a different email other than the one they setup for me when i created the phone.how can I change the primary email on my phone to the one i set up for work so I can sync that one with the calendar.
View 1 Replies View RelatedFor the past 2-3 days I haven't gotten any notifications from my phone saying I have new emails.So I signed into gmail from my computer and I did have a couple messages.I went into "My Accounts" and clicked sync now and they started to come in.I don't know what happened or what I did, but is there any way I can get it to sync by itself like it did before without my having to go to "my accounts" and click on sync now.Now for the sending problem.My sister sent me an email, and I was trying to send a reply back from my droidx and all it does is get stuck on "Send." and it never sends out.I tried to reply to another person and the same thing happened.I don't know what to do.I just got all my customizations the way I like so I will try anything before a factory reset.
View 4 Replies View RelatedHaving issues with gmail contact sync. I was using the blackberry tour which I synced regularly with outlook. When I switched to the Droid i exported the vcard into gmail and the gmail synced with my droid. The problem is some of my contacts have been merged with other contacts. For example, Nick with no last name was merged with Nick H that does have a last name. They should be two different Nicks and I dont understand why the droid is combining them. I have checked the gmail account and the two Nicks are NOT merged together, but the two Nicks ARE merged on the actual phone. My phone was syncing with facebook and gmail but i disabled the auto sync and just manually synced the gmail on its own but i still have the same problem. I also have another friend with the same problem on her droid.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI need to open files with custom extension using my app. I am able to do this using Intent filters when the file is in my sd card. I can also view the 'download' and 'preview' buttons if the file is sent as a Gmail attachment. However, when I clicked the download/preview buttons, I got the message - "Sorry, the attachment could not be downloaded".
I thought this was an issue with my app. But I had a random idea and installed "Download All Files" app on my phone.URL....Then, when I click download button in Gmail, both Download All Files and My App are proposed for downloading the file. I chose my app, and everything works fine!!

I entered in my gmail information to my new droid and it sync'd with my contacts on gmail, all 5 of them, 'deleting' my previous contacts. I say 'deleting' loosely because when I look through my contacts none are there, however if someone sends me a text it has them saved with their number. Is there a way to restore/retrieve my contacts?
View 2 Replies View RelatedCurrently if I add/modify a contact in gmail it will sync without issue to my phone But if I happen to add a contact onto my phone or change something on my phone, that contact is not being synced to my gmail contacts (it stays on the phone, just doesn't go into gmail as well). Thoughts? I currently only sync 'My Contacts' from gmail to my phone not sure if this matters or not. I don't see an option to sync the other way as I did when using Google Sync on my blackberry.
View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen i get a gmail with an attachment i can see the little paper clip telling me that i have an attachment and it will even tell me the size of the attachment but i cannot download it. it is not a clickable link. if i go to gmail on my browser it will let me start to download it but it always says download failed this phone does not support this file. its just a document, is there an app that allows me to download attachments such as this? the file was .ics whatever that is. but it has happened with other file types.
View 11 Replies View RelatedFound an odd issue in regards to the default gmail app. When attempting to attach a file to an email it constantly gives me an error saying the attached file is too large? I thought that GMails attachment limit was now at 25meg? the files im trying to attach are around the 3meg mark. Strangely if I setup my GMail account via pop in the MAIL app I can attach the file without issues. A bug on my phone or is anyone else having the odd issue? Google overlooked something? Is it fixed in froyo?

Uri Uri;
Uri = Uri.parse("content://mms/part/" + mmsPartId);
Uri = Uri.parse("content://gmail-ls/messages/email@gmail.com/messageId/attachments/0.1/BEST/true");
InputStream inputStream = getContentResolver().openInputStream(Uri); openInputStream works fine for mms, but for GMail i got error:

I don't understand what "direct path to the attachment"?
