Motorola Droid X :: Updating To 2.2 - Change Back To Flashing SPF Right?
Sep 21, 2010I changed my build.prop file after updating to 2.2 for the market fix. I wouldn't have to change it back prior to flashing SPF right?

View 3 RepliesI am not planning on doing this, but this just popped into my head. If you have installed a custom kernal while rooted, and you want to flash back to 2.2, do you need to install the stock kernal.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI performed a backup prior to flashing back to the SS 4.5 and have used the ROM before however I have no idea why my contacts aren't coming back up at all. My SD card is in the droid, and I know the contacts file is there just fine, but is almost as if it just isn't being seen, so none of my fb contact info will sync naturally because it doesn't see any contact info to sync to. Any ideas on how to get the contacts back up? The only other change I made was I changed to a 1.1 GHz LV kernal since the 1.0 was giving me problems...
View 9 Replies View RelatedMy phone spent the better part of the day on charge at work. When I got into the car, it was flashing red at me and telling me to plug it into power now. After a 30 minute car ride, it was showing mostly green. This happened once before but I figured if I ignored it, it would go away.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have to ask before flashing back to 2.0.1. When I flash back to 2.0.1 how would I recover all me accounts and apps? Can I just redownload all the apps i paid for from the market and will my exchange account, gmail, and etc restore or do I need to backup all this somehow and restore it?
View 5 Replies View RelatedAnyone having trouble with widgets stop updating? Like my clock/calendar/weather/news/pretty much any widget i have stops updating after an hour. So i look at my clock widget two hours later and it is an hour behind. Happens to ALL my widgets.Even the quick turn on/off wifi,bt,gps and such. They just stop updating/showing animation.I have ADW launcher installed. I am wondering if it is that. I do not really want to remove it as i hate the stock 3 button interface at the bottom (why do i need a contacts and phone, just use the phone to look thru contacts, wasted space IMO) and am quite keen on keeping the 5 button.Any ideas? If i power off the phone and turn it back on it's fine again for about an hour. SOmetimes randomly thru the day it will start updating and working fine again then randomly stop again.
View 12 Replies View RelatedThis bug just spontaneously arose. Every time I select a new wallpaper it loops back to the gallery. The problem does not occur when I pick one of the Droid pre-loaded wallpapers. Not sure if this is a coincidence, but I just installed sweeter home beta 2.
Update. I removed the 2.1 gallyey app and it fixed the problem
My contacts came from my Gmail account, which was very convenient.
But I noticed that if I change a contact on the Droid the changes are NOT synced back to Gmail.
At the moment if I look on the Droid for Contacts/Accounts/ me@gmail.com, I see Sync is ON, Calendar is synced up to present time, Mail is synced up to present, but Contacts are synced until 2. December only!
The sync symbol appears at Contacts, but the date and time isn't changing, it stays at 2. December.
I have a question on how to change icons back to the theme version after an app update. So after an app updates it changes back to the stock icon. Can I just reapply the theme and get the icons back to the themed version or do I have to wait until the dev updates the theme?

View 6 Replies View RelatedThis is my first android device and i'm loving it... but one thing that irks me is the use, or lack thereof, of the back button.
As I am navigating menus and options in the Settings, I cannot simply go back one menu using the back key. For example, if I go to Settings->Battery Manager->Battery Profile Options and want to go back to the Settings screen, I cannot.
Pushing the back button does nothing and I can only go back to the Settings menu by going Home, then re-entering.
Another quirk regarding the back button is when reading emails. Using a regular email account such as Hotmail, I cannot simply read an email and go back to the inbox using the button.
It makes navigating the phone very tedious.
Alright this may have been asked a few times, or maybe it could not of been asked. I just can't find the thread related to answering this question.
Okay so my question is, can I flash Galaxo 1.6.2 or GAOSP "without" ODIN flashing or updating my firmware to 1.6? and not then what consequences would occur if I don't flash firmware update before GALAXO 1.6.2 flash. My phone firmware version is I7500ZHJA1 and I believe that is the latest firmware for my region which is still Android 1.5.
I just flashed the flashback15.zip ROM to unroot my eris. After rebooting, I have not gotten the update to go to 2.1. Is the any way I can make my phone get the update?

Are there any apps in the market that would give me this ability?
My hero bricked on me - when i hold down power & back keys i get in to a screen with the 3 androids on skateboards, can I flash a fresh rom from this screen? and if so - How?
View 6 Replies View RelatedSo I've been tinkering around with Odin and flashing to the many firmwares floating around- the latest is the JFM6 i9000 firmware.. Which also included flashing the CSC and kernel..
My question is, since I flashed the csc and kernel, how do I flash back to the stock JF6 rom that came with the phone? Just the pit and .tar (pda)? I have the firmware and the pit file.. just wondering what is entailed because of flashing the additional csc and kernel files as well.
Would the process just require using the RUU to flash back to stock and waiting for the update? I am currently all the way rooted and running the Cyanogen nightly.
View 19 Replies View RelatedI am planning to buy an unlock code for my HTC Aria and SIM unlock it.
After unlocking it, if i root the device OR if i install a custom ROM OR If i install the new Froyo (When AT&T releases it)
Under these circumstances or any other circumstances, does the unlock revert back and make the phone locked again?
I'm roooted. I downloaded bootstrap and the first thing i did was create a nandroid back up for my x. then i proceeded to try and install tranquility rom. it got stuck in a bootloop. so when i rebooted into recovery it now goes for some reason to the droid stock recovery and i can't revert back to my back up. what do i do?!
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm finding that I'm using the back button A LOT whether browsing the web or just navigating the OS. It kind of sucks because the buttons on the droid x are well, really small, and sometimes hard to press because they are so narrow and flimsy feeling. And depending on how you are holding the phone, it could be a good bit of distance for your thumb to travel or I'm finding myself having to reposition the phone in my hands just to reach the back button, which you seem to need very frequently.
Anyone know of any kind of back 'swipe' implementation ? Like some software you can install that makes it if you swipe left to right on maybe the top bar it goes back?
How can i backup my contacts list before updating my phone. would rather not have to buy an application to do this.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI bought a Hero (CDMA) from a friend. Wasn't sure if I was going to keep it (bought it dirt cheap so was maybe going to resell it) but after playing around with it I decided to keep it. Rooted it, flashed in custom cyanogen ROM...set it up just the way I wanted it, all before activating the phone. LOL
So as I'm sure many of you know, you can't activate with a custom ROM. From what I've read in other forums, rooting doesn't matter when activating, it's all about the ROM. So I'll have to flash back to stock 2.1 to activate this thing. I called Sprint and played dumb but there was no way they could activate it apparently. Well, technically the phone is "activated" but can not be "programmed" for use with a custom ROM.
So will the flashback to stock 2.1 de-root? Or can I just back up my current ROM, flash to stock 2.1, activate and then simply reload my custom ROM?
I was flashing back to stock rom and I followed deaths steps for it, and for about the past hour or so its been stuck, once like every 20 minutes the screen will flash and go back to android. Did I brick it or what?
View 12 Replies View RelatedI am using this awesome AOKP ROM that lately has had a lot of nightlies. I have found that going back into the play store and redownloading every app.
Also when I do reinstall my apps, all the app data (game progress user logins etc) are gone. How can I back that up?
And finally if I do back up the data from the apps, will that mess with my ROM at all? SGH-I747
I lost all my contacts after updating. It worked at the start but now it doesn't.
View 12 Replies View RelatedMy Droid appears to have an issue, and I'm hoping someone here can help. It is completely stock. I've searched this and other forums, but can't find anyone with a similar issue. My phone is not bricked, but I would really like to update to 2.2.
When Android 2.1 came out, I did a manual update and had no issues completing it.
When 2.2 came out, I tried the manual update like normal. Held the X key while powering up, and the Motorola logo came up. Then the phone shut down, and the logo came up again. As long as I hold down the X, this continues to happen.
Late last week, I got the notice on my phone that the update was ready to install. I tapped Install Now, and the phone shut down and restarted in a similar manner as described above.
Crap. So, I can't get into Recovery Mode. At all.
So, I decided to attempt a factory reset through the Settings Menu. Same thing happens. Moto logo comes up, the the phone shuts down. Then powers back up like nothing happened.
I took it to the VZW store. Was essentially told to wait a bit, and that they would do a warranty exchange if the phone became unusable.
I did the Motorola Support Chat, and was told that VZW should be getting a tool to help, but it seemed like the rep didn't really understand what I was describing.
So Weather & Toggle Widget, Local News, Audio Manager Widget, BBC News and Titanium Backup * Root won't update. The hang at the start of the DL in marketplace. Anyone have any ideas? I'm running 2.2 kangerade V5.0.9. I haven't had any other problems and a lot of other apps have been updating regularly for a week or so now.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm a bit noobish since this is my first Android phone, so please forgive me. I rooted my Droid X running 2.1 using the GUI program. I used Root Explorer to rename a few bloatware apps. I did not make any other changes, just installed Titanium Backup and used it to make a backup. To successfully install the OTA update to 2.2, what do I need to do? I read that I need to restore the bloatware. Do I also need to unroot first? I've also read in a couple places something about moving Superuser.apk from bin to xbin. Is that what I need to do to stay rooted in 2.2?
