I have to ask before flashing back to 2.0.1. When I flash back to 2.0.1 how would I recover all me accounts and apps? Can I just redownload all the apps i paid for from the market and will my exchange account, gmail, and etc restore or do I need to backup all this somehow and restore it?

I am not planning on doing this, but this just popped into my head. If you have installed a custom kernal while rooted, and you want to flash back to 2.2, do you need to install the stock kernal.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI performed a backup prior to flashing back to the SS 4.5 and have used the ROM before however I have no idea why my contacts aren't coming back up at all. My SD card is in the droid, and I know the contacts file is there just fine, but is almost as if it just isn't being seen, so none of my fb contact info will sync naturally because it doesn't see any contact info to sync to. Any ideas on how to get the contacts back up? The only other change I made was I changed to a 1.1 GHz LV kernal since the 1.0 was giving me problems...

I am using this awesome AOKP ROM that lately has had a lot of nightlies. I have found that going back into the play store and redownloading every app.
Also when I do reinstall my apps, all the app data (game progress user logins etc) are gone. How can I back that up?

I own a Sony Xperia ZL and running firmware C6503_10.4.1.B.0.101 (I hope this is the right one, I'am still a newbie about this), unrooted and bootloader locked. A few days ago, I got a bootloop on my device, and after searching the solutions they told me to flashing it. Then I just flashing it, and to be honest this is my first time flashing and I don't know any effect of this.
After successfully flashing, I lost all my internal data
But luckily , I don't know why but my device auto download all of my apps and also recover my contact automatically. I also got my WA messages because still have my back up on micro SD.
But not about the SMS, not even a single SMS appear. I already try Dr.Fone for Android software and use deep scan, but the software found nothing. How to recover my SMS.
How can I recover my applications from my tablet after I have rooted it. since the stock/original applications takes up 8 gigs of space of my internal memory. I just cannot seem to access/delete those 8 gigs??
I flashed cyanogen 9 to my SGT2.10.1 and it was successful, although I am stuck on trying to recover my applications from the partition internal memory. Of course I have done a variety of steps to recover them and some of the steps I took are:
1. I tried using the spk tool - I really do not know how to use it and I am having a hard time figuring it out .
2. Trying to delete and reformat the internal memory - was not successful since it only erased of what I currently had on the rooted and partitioned memory, thus my original/stock application are still within the internal memory.
3. I tried using applications such PC36IMG-AmonRA-3.07-gnm.zip - I changed the name to PC36IMG but flashing it lead to installation fail/aborted.
4. I tried recovering them with titanium back up - but the application couldn't see my original/stock applications.
5. Also tried using Astro File manager - Same results as TBU .
6. Deleting the files from my pc via usb- it does not give me an option to reformat it.
Just got my Motorola Droid, and have been trying out free programs from the market. I have a few apps I am considering purchasing, but I do not want to until I can figure out a way to backup apps to my computer...Can anyone help with this?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI probably nuked my Droid doing something, either messing with it rooted or cold/snow/moisture got to it. I'd be in the middle of a call and the other person wouldn't hear me. This would happen randomly. I went to Verizon and they simply shipped me a new phone.
Now that I have it, i thought all my apps would be on the SD card. Nope. I can only get back Apps that are the Market has marked as needing update. all my other apps are gone. How can I move them along with my custom setting like GDE etc?

Am I going to regret not getting Titanium Backup, or are they basically the same? Also, is what I did sufficient backup; backing up apps and data to my SD card? View 2 Replies View RelatedMy DroidX has several pieces of bloatware from Verizon or Motorola. I don't mind giving up a little Ram space for them, but many are running all of the time. After you kill them they come back to life. Why does Music, Maps, SkypeMobile, CityId etc. need to run when I haven't even started them? I "assume" that they are just waiting until the end of a time period (an hour I hope rather than a second) to check if the need to "call home". If they are doing much they are eating battery time which isn't as good as I would like. I realize that I would have to root my Droid to remove the apps. Is there an easier ways to keep them from running?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a rooted EVO 4G that has worked fine until now, I backed up the phone to my PC with a full copy back up but did not back up the ROM Manager like I usually do, I tried to restore the phone and it will not place the saved calander with the copy and paste back to the phone through the USB when mounted as a disk drive, I have all the contacts and apps that I need saved but lost all of my calander details which for me include 6 months of booking and events that I use for my business, it will only restore from my last back up on the ROM manager. Is there a way to replace just the calander file, I'm not sure how to view it in the PC back up or even where it would be located.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently rooted 2.1update1, I backed up twice with sprecovey...2.1 unrooted, 2.1 rooted. Then downloaded Ti backup and did a full backup of apps. I bought ROM manager and downloaded p3droid 1ghz kernal and flashed it. I know it probably worked but I ended up restoring to the back up that ROM manager made just before flashing p3droid kernal. How can I restore my settings and apps after I flash a ROM? Is there a way to add p3driod to over clock without overiding my apps?Didn't want to get in too deep without finding out first. I read for weeks before I rooted, Im ready for the quick answer. Im considering CM or Nexbeast...not sure. As I am navigating menus and options in the Settings, I cannot simply go back one menu using the back key. For example, if I go to Settings->Battery Manager->Battery Profile Options and want to go back to the Settings screen, I cannot.
Pushing the back button does nothing and I can only go back to the Settings menu by going Home, then re-entering.
Another quirk regarding the back button is when reading emails. Using a regular email account such as Hotmail, I cannot simply read an email and go back to the inbox using the button.
It makes navigating the phone very tedious.
I was using RUBIX 1.0 focused, and I tried to download and install something else, and I guess i failed to do so. My phone keeps showing me the motorola logo. The last 2 weeks, suddenly my emailaccounts were totally erased. One of them is Echange and the other one POP.
After installing them again there seems to be some content of the old accounts.
Under Accounts and Sync (in Settings), Stocks and Weather seem to nestle permanently - I can't see a way of getting them out of there. I don't use the Stocks app at all and have turned autosync off on it. Is there a way to get if off the Accounts and Sync screen?

Adding why I want it to go: each time I go to the Accounts and Sync screen, the Stocks app ends up getting restarted! Even if I force close it from "Managing Apps", it shows up again as running when I go to the Accounts and Sync screen.
My boyfriend has two email accounts on his phone. He wants to backup his personal contacts to his personal account and his more important contacts to his other account. When he tried to do this it doubled the contacts on his phone. (Basically went from 50 contacts to 100 contacts).
Is there any possible way of doing this?
I just learned how to root my Droid X tonight and was going through the "pre-approved' list of "deletable file" and ended up deleting my Text Messages icon and have been unable to open texting and this sucks. HOw can I get it back on my phone so I can send/receive text?
View 11 Replies View RelatedI had my Droid X plugged into my computer and the next day when I was using it, noticed that all of my pictures were gone. My DCIM folder is empty, with all 100 pics missing.
I do have a folder in the DCIM folder called SPMO files and it has many .spmo files that are roughly 500k each in size.
Does anyone know what happened to all of my pictures and is there any way to recover them. I've tried a restart and that did not work. Has anyone else had this happen to them.
I lost my G1 a couple weeks ago (like an idiot) and had to buy a new one. I was able to get back all the apps I purchased before, but not some of the free ones. For example, fbook was on my old phone and it's not in the market anymore.

I was going to use Simple Root or Unrevoked3 to do so, but I have the "GangStar" game from gameloft and I don't want to risk having to pay for it again.
