Is there a way to make the sounds on the Eris louder? I have put in music from my computer using MP3 gain at 93 db. and it seems really quiet most of the time. I can try and raise the db some more, but does anyone know if there is a setting somewhere that is curbing the volume? My wife has the Eris too and her phone is louder playing the same song.
Mine seems to have quieted for some reason and it is not a speaker blown or anything. Just quieter than hers is and a bit hard to hear if in the car with the window down. I noticed it is really low in volume if I am listening to Last FM, Pandora, or Stitcher Radio. They are hard to hear at all if the window is slightly down.

I couldn't hear the music play at max volume on my Incredible at work (noisy environment). Was disappointing coming from a raggedy BB Storm 1. But then I did something to it and the volume incresed... about 25% higher from the max setting that I had. I can now hear it while I am working. I tested this method on the Pandora. It worked every time.
Here is how:
1. Play music (from whatever app you use)
2. Hit the home key
3. Open Voice Search (Programs key if you don't have it on your home screen).
4. Done.

Recently I've noticed that the volume on my Droid is super loud even when I have it at the lowest setting. I'm can hold the phone inches away from my ear and still hear what the other party is saying. This happens with my wired earpiece as well.

I hope my question makes sense...
but to break it down, while trying to pick just one ringtone I thought of how cool it would be to be able to select several ringtones and have the phone play one upon an incoming call. Either a song/ringtone is selected at random or they are cycled through...am I making sense?
I'm new here, I've had the Droid for over a month but just now trying to pimp it out a little. So I apologize if this has been asked before (tried searching).

The only thing I have a problem with so far is how the standard ring tones are continuous. there is no break in between. it's like a non stop ring. I tried downloading one similar to see if that would give me the break I'm looking for. But it must be the phone causing this because the downloaded tone did the same thing. Does anyone know how I can fix this?

I going to want to make my own ringtones soon, and I am wondering what everyone recommends is the BEST or better way for me to get my music onto my phone and storing it. For example, is it better to put music on my phone with the music app, clip and cut my ringtone in that app and store my tones that way.
Or is it better to clip up a song on my computer using something like Audacity and then send it to my phone via Bluetooth or USB Tethered? And if I did do it that way, where would I store it on the phone, folder, some in depth storage preference? I am a new Smart phone user, so I am looking for the best way to store my ring tones on the phone without making it bogged down and the best way to make my tone and transferring it to my phone.

Does anyone know where to put ring tones in 2.2? In 2.1 all you had to do was put them in a folder called (wait for it) Ringtones but that doesn't seem to work in 2.2?

I have 8 or 9 ringtones downloaded into the music app from ringtone. All done prior to the Froyo update. Very easy, just download and wala, there they are. So, I just downloaded 3 more songs. Upload successful. Go to the music app and they aren't there. Downloaded them again, go to the music app....still not there, just the previous downloads. So, where are they? ON my sd card somewhere? How do I find them, no sense in keeping on downloading and eating space. Should I uninstall and reinstall due to Froyo?

I have some mp3s that I have used for ringtones on past phones (KRazr, Blackberry), and from what I've found, to add them to my Droid 2, I put them in the media/audio/ringtones folder on my SD card. I've done that, but they don't show up in my list. I've also tried restarting the phone (aks the Microsoft approach), but they're still not available. Is there somewhere else I'm supposed to put the files?

I know that you can take any MP3 you have on your phone and turn it into your ringtone. Pretty snazzy. Is there a way to decide where the MP3 will start? It begins at the start of the song Say... random example.... that I wanted Mr. Roboto as my ringtone. There's a lot of intro to get past till the good stuff begins. If I want to hear the hook, the call has long since gone to voice mail.
