Jun 11, 2010I couldn't hear the music play at max volume on my Incredible at work (noisy environment). Was disappointing coming from a raggedy BB Storm 1. But then I did something to it and the volume incresed... about 25% higher from the max setting that I had. I can now hear it while I am working. I tested this method on the Pandora. It worked every time.
Here is how:
1. Play music (from whatever app you use)
2. Hit the home key
3. Open Voice Search (Programs key if you don't have it on your home screen).
4. Done.

Sep 7, 2010I want to set my phone to ring only. I don't want any other notifications (text, email, etc.) to make any noise or vibrate. No matter what I do, when I set the Ringer Volume the Notification Volume gets set to the same value.

I am using the exact same custom ringtones I made for my Droid on my Droid X and my Droid X is much, much lower on ringer volume, even at max setting. Due to this, I am missing tons of text messages and a bunch of phone calls when I am in a place that has even slight noise. On my Droid, I could hear my ringer even in the noisiest of places. I can't hardly hear my Droid X in the quiet places. Are there any tips, tricks, or hacks that can increase the overall volume on the X?

Jul 17, 2010I noticed that when turning down the volume of the ringer with the volume rocker it doesn't automatically turn down the notification volume as well. Is there a way to set the volume rocker to adjust both notification and ringer volume to the same level? You can test this by going under Settings/Sound and Display/Ringer Volume...and try adjusting the volume with the rocker and it only adjust the Ringer Volume.

When I play the file, it's played on the device's speaker, or else it plays through headphones if they're plugged in. What I want to do is play the file so that it sounds to the user as if it's at the same volume level as a normal phone call. Is there a way to route playback so that the file is played through the phone's ear piece instead of out of the speaker?

Dec 24, 2009Okay so i created a folder on my sd card called ringers, worked great for allowing me to use my mp3 files that i croped for my ringtones, however when the phone rings it doesnt ring at the desired volume from the begining, it vibrates only for 1 pulse then the volume slowly comes in from min to the desired level it is as if it is set to escalating. I have searched through all the settings but if there is a way to turn this off i have missed it. I know the mp3 file doesnt escalate because i use the same file on my moment and it rings at full volume from the beginning.

Sep 1, 2010Just picked this up yesterday and I'm very impressed. This is my first droid phone and it blows away the other phones I've owned in the past. Not really a fan of the iPhone and have been on AT&T forever..it's time for a change. My last phone was a Nokia E72 which is a great phone, but wanted more! Gonna put that on E-bay soon hah.
The only complaints I have so far are the notification sounds are quiet even at the max volume setting. The Nokia E72 is a lot louder both in ringtone and sms tones. Also, the four buttons on the bottom sometimes don't respond. I find I have to occasionally hit the same button a couple times to get it to work. Very minor tho imo. It's not too frequent.

Oct 24, 2010I can't seem to make Amazon MP3 download to the SD card.As I understand MP3 downloads should go to the SD Card by default.On my phone (non-rooted) it keeps on creating "amazonmp3s" folder on the phone internal memory storage to save downloaded files. Apr 8, 2010Is there a way to make the sounds on the Eris louder? I have put in music from my computer using MP3 gain at 93 db. and it seems really quiet most of the time. I can try and raise the db some more, but does anyone know if there is a setting somewhere that is curbing the volume? My wife has the Eris too and her phone is louder playing the same song.
Mine seems to have quieted for some reason and it is not a speaker blown or anything. Just quieter than hers is and a bit hard to hear if in the car with the window down. I noticed it is really low in volume if I am listening to Last FM, Pandora, or Stitcher Radio. They are hard to hear at all if the window is slightly down.

Nov 5, 2009A bizarre problem has developed on my Magic (Vodafone, 1.6) whereby the Ringer volume keeps setting itself to the lowest setting. Five times today I've missed a call, and upon pressing volume up, noticed the Ringer Volume was on zero. I set it back to about 50% and locked the phone again. After it had happened about 3 times, I took to repeatedly checking the phone, and it seemed that the volume was remaining where set, until I missed a call again and this is where it gets weird: Every time a call comes in, the ringer volume sets to zero and I miss the call!
How bizarre is that? I have checked the volume repeatedly to find it was ok, then I miss another call and I find the volume on zero again. I have switched the phone off and on several times without the problem going away. I don't have any apps or widgets installed that alter the ringer volume, the only thing I have which is along these lines is "Smart Vibrator". Oh and it doesn't matter how I set the volume, with the buttons on the side of the phone or through the Settings, the problem still occurs. Does anyone have any idea what's going on? Because this is driving me insane and the phone has nearly gone across the room on several occasions!
Media : Send / Email Mp3s Files To Another Person?
Nov 21, 2009Has anyone found a way to email or otherwise send mp3 files to another person? I tried the "Explorer" file manager which allows emailing files. I can email from gmail to another account. When I access that account with the standard email client, there is no option to save the audio file (or even just open) as there is for receiving image files. When I send from my non-gmail account to gmail, the file gets truncated to 5MB and can only be previewed within the gmail client. I tried the K-9 client but I can't set it up with my non-gmail account because you cannot select a port for the incoming server (only the outgoing). Thanks for any suggestions.
