My Desire is changing the ringtones I've set to seemingly random mp3's stored on the phone. I reset all my ringtones last night (for Calls, twitter notification noise, sms alert noise and reminder noise). But this morning they are all set to different mp3's. Ruling out that someone stuck into my room overnight and manually changed them all.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have the HTC Hero from Sprint. I am running the stock ROM from Sprint with the update that was released in Nov. Scenario:
Person X is in my contact list
I want sound file Y to play when I get a phone call from X
I want sound file Z to play when I get a text from X
(Note: For clarification Y and Z are not the same file. The sound file Z should be different depending on the person also. In other words can I set costume text alerts per person).
When you look at the contact in 'people' there is a setting for 'ring tone' I am not sure if this is just for incoming calls or if this is also for incoming texts from this person.
I updated to the newest leak version last night successfully, and it's the first time I've rooted. It's kind of annoying how I lost all my ringtones and alerts for texts and stuff. The only option is 'Default Verizon' which annoys the hell out of me. I'd rather not have to download an app to get a simple ringtone for texts and google talk and phone calls. Any way to just get the regular list back that came with the phone?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI want to move an ogg notification to the Epic's internal memory so it will play when the SD card is mounted, but I can't move it to the /system/media/audio/notifications folder. I think it's due to NAND not being unlocked? I have root access. tried creating a /media/audio/notifications folder in internal memory and I could move the file to that folder, but neither rings extended nor ringdroid will see it in that location. Is there someway that this is possible, or do we have to wait for NAND unlock? Surely this is an issue that lots of other people have had.

When I detect it, I have the fun going through setting the noises back to what I want. This is annoying. I thought when I set the sounds they were "saved" somewhere. But setting the sounds again and again, and again.

View 13 Replies View RelatedSo I was cycling home from work listening to some music on my Desire through the headphones via Meridian music player. During the trip home the music muted for 10 seconds or so and then re-started. I checked the phone and noticed that I had a missed call. My phone was set to vibrate only. I didn't feel it vibrate in my pocket whilst cycling. When I've listened to music before I've always heard some notification through the headphones when a call, text or email has come through but I can't be sure that the phone was on vibrate on these occasions.
Can anyone confirm that when using the headphones with the phone on vibrate you will not get an audible notification when a call, text or email comes through? If this is the case its a bit annoying because if its an email I am happy to wait till I get home but if its a call I want to take it straight away. With no audible notification you have no way of knowing whats come through.
I can't seem to change alerts and ringer volume seperately using Audiomanager pro. Whilst at work i want to hear my txt message sounds (alerts) but not my ringtone, and i want the phone to vibrate with both still. However when moving the ringtone and/or alert slider the other one moves too, they can't seem to move seperately. Am i doing something wrong or does this app not do that, and if so, is there an ap that does?
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy environment is:
1 Exchange Account - Push
1 IMAP (Gmail) - 2 hourly
1 POP (Hotmail) - Once daily
My issue is that I am receiving alerts for the same new mail repeatedly. Here's the gist:
11:50 - New mail hits my inbox.
12:00 - I receive a notification of the new email.
12:05 - I check my inbox, but choose not to open the email at this time.
14:00 - I get a notification of a 'new' email, yet on checking it's the one received at 11:50, but still haven't opened.
15:00 - Rinse and repeat. Now, I'm not sure how many times this is happening, or even if it's everytime, but there's something definitely glitchy with mail notifications.Has anybody else noticed similar behaviour? If not I may try removing/adding my accounts back in again.
New here. Be gentle with me. I've just got a Desire on O2 (it's lovely) but I'm having problems getting my own mp3 files to be ringtones. I've followed all of the different instructions on here about which folders to store them in but it just won't work! If I browse to one of the files with Astro and long press on the file, a menu appears. Under Music Options, the Play and Set As Ringtone functions are not available. The files are currently on the SD card under mediaaudio ingtones. I have tried setting the files as ringtones under the Personalize option as well as the Notifications and Phone Ringtone options.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have owned my HTC Desire now for two weeks and can download apps and games from the Android market with no problems, but when I try and download a ringtone or mp3 song from any ringtone application I just get a instant "ringtone download failed" message and nothing happens. View 4 Replies View RelatedNewbie Android user, having a problem using different ringtones for each contact. Everytime a person calls, it uses the default ringtone for them. I've set up a few of my contacts with different ringtones, and i'm pretty sure I ain't done it wrong (People>Contact Name>Ringtone>xxxx)For some reason whenever someone calls me, it always plays the default tune!
View 3 Replies View RelatedI accidentally set one of the MP3s which came on the phone as my ringtone. This now continually shows up in my ringtones list, despite no longer being my ringtone. If it was an MP3 I had imported to the ringtones folder on my SD card, I assume I could delete the file from the folder and it would no longer show up on the phone's ringtone list? However, I don't seem to be able to remove this MP3 from my ringtone list on the phone. It shows up on my PC when I connect my Desire via USB, but it's in the MP3 folder and not the ringtone folder. It's not a huge deal, but I'm trying to work out a way of removing it from my ringtone list!
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy ringtone seems to have reset itself to something I haven't choosen. I have trouble hearing high pitch sounds so this is important. I need a ringtone that I will notice.
I go to sound & display and when I hit "Phone Ringtone" the only options are OK or Cancel.
Same result using the "personalize" setting. Where did my ringtones go? I do not want to reset to factory and loose the few settings I have.
I recently noticed my phone has not been going off when it should. I checked my settings and noticed all the ringtones were no longer listed when selecting a ringtone/alarm/notification. Using a file browser I was able to located all the missing ringtones, under /system/media/audio. This may be relevant, my phone recently was low on data and i had uninstalled some programs, although none of which as far as im aware, has anything to do with the ring tones.
