I am concern that if I lose my phone, and it is found by an honest person, they will not know how to return it. So I was wondering if anyone knows how to display return information if the pattern lock is on?

I'm seeing so many people complaining about the new lock screen that it seems that many Droid owners aren't using a pattern lock to secure their phone. This really surprises me, the phone contains access to all your email, contacts, calendar, and any other personal data you may have placed on it, and a large percentage of you aren't even using the basic security provided by the pattern lock? Or is it that many people don't know the pattern lock exists? I just can't imagine having a phone like this that isn't secured to whatever extent is available.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI turned my screen on put in my lock pattern and my phone turned off anyone know why this would happen? Couple things you should know.
1) I searched the forums and found nothing about this if there is please give me a link and a mod can close this thread.
2) I had to do a battery pull to turn it back on because it wouldn't respond to the power button.
3) I don't use a task killer.
4) This has never happened to me before.
5) The battery had 51% power left.
6) I want to know if I should be worried or its something that happens often?
7) I have had my Eris since January 06 so the 30 days deal is out the window.
Is there anyway to put this lock screen on the droid? Screen Lock - and is there anyway/app to make the screen light up with ANY button besides the lock button?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI downloaded a pattern lock widget and I wasn't sure if I really wanted to use it so I opened the widget and read the first screen or two to see what it was all about but I never set up a pattern on it - I decided that I didn't want the program. So I set my phone aside for a minute and the screen locked but when I hit the power button to turn the screen back on, the pattern lock screen was there, not the "slide to unlock" screen.
So I just ran my fingers in a random pattern (not even connecting dots - just a random swipe) and it let me right in, Okay, fine. Then I went and uninstalled the app and tried locking the screen to make sure it was gone. Sure enough, the pattern lock screen was there when I tried to unlock it. Again, I ran my fingers in a random swipe and it let me in. I tried pulling the battery and that didn't get rid of it.
So at this point, I seem to be stuck with a pattern lock screen to unlock my phone that is not set to any specific pattern...And I don't even have the app installed anymore! (It's not listed in the list of installed apps.) How do I get rid of it? I just want to go back to the stock "slide to unlock" screen.

I haven't found a solid answer for this yet.What I want is simple: music controls on the pattern lock screen.I don't want Widgetlocker or another lock screen replacement, which have given me problems and don't seem to be reliable. I just want to be able to pause/play/skip from the pattern lock screen.I am okay with binding physical buttons to this task if that's what it takes.

Edit: I've fixed the Pattern Lock issue with a widget that enables/disables PL for now I think.....
Is there anyway to disable the initial swipe lock screen and replace with the pattern lock? Seems silly to have a double lock.....the pattern seems much better to me.

View 4 Replies View RelatedIf someone finds or steals the phone, can the pattern lock be bypassed on a CDMA phone (not sure if GSM phones are vulnerable to SIM replacement as a bypass)? If not, perhaps that's pretty good security, so long as you're careful not to let others see your unlock pattern and you wipe the screen to remove your finger trail. Of course that still leaves the sd card unprotected, but if keep everything important in your dropbox, you can delete it from there, and probably do so before the person decides to pull the card out.

I already had heard of this phone and decided I would at least use the regular droid in the interim. Thankfully I picked up the droid on the 16th, so the droid x release day is within the 30 day window. Can I just go in on the 15th and exchange the droid for the droid x? I know the pre order situation is unknown, but if reorders are available can I pre order even though I haven't returned the droid yet?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI woke up this morning to find a line of dead pixels across the bottom of my screen, right through the phone, drawer & contacts icons. Below the line everything was all flashy & glitch. I did a soft reset, battery pull and started it back up with the same results. I then did a hard factory reset with the same results. The phone was purchased from a Wal-mart that was 40 miles away and of course they did not have a replacement. The next closest one was 33 miles from there. So to avoid going without a phone, I made the drive. I was reading that they have made this problem public now, but they say it is a very low percentage. Just wanted to share.

I got the Motorola Droid on Friday night. After playing with it, I just cant use it because the font size is to small and there seems to be no global font increase. I want to return the phone for a refund and put my plan back to the way it was, and reactivate my old phone, think verizon will do this for me?
View 21 Replies View RelatedI got a Droid w/ Verizon December 28th 2009, and have 30 days to take it back. Should I take it back and wait for Verizon to come out with the Nexus One? I know for sure I want to use Verizon: We are in a semi-rural area, and Verizon is the only carrier that has 3g. I guess Verizon will be offering the phone SOMETIME in the spring. If I took it back, I'd have to go back to my old att phone and wait till then. One of the most important features of a phone for me is having a REALLY GOOD CAMERA built in, so I can take decent photos at any time without having to wag another box around I've read that the Droid will eventually (Jan 22?) be getting Android 2.1. DOES ANYONE KNOW if Android 2.1 Will fix the problems with the Droid's camera being a P.O.S? If Verizon would do some kind of a deal where I could keep the droid til the Nexus 1 is available with them I would, or even return the phone and use my current old unlocked phone on their network, and wait if they would give me an approx date.
