Sep 17, 2010Most of my work phone calls are unknown number and lately I kept getting a phone call from a private number every half hour or so and it only ring once then hang up. I want to block that private number but not the unknown, I tried couple of apps but it doesn't allow me to just block private number. I have to block unknown, private etc..

Apr 6, 2012I somehow (knowingly or unknowingly) touched & dialled a number from an adult content app and then hung up. Since that day, I keep getting text msgs from different numbers, with lewd text & asking me to call a number (constant across all these sms-es). I block the number using MyVerizon number blocking service; but in 2-3 days I get similar text, asking me to call the same number, from a different number. I keep on blocking this new number (from where the text came) and they keep on sending same text from a different number. This keep on increasing my text bill.
If I reply to one of those texts saying "STOP", as the verizon customer care rep suggested, wouldn't that flag my number as LIVE and they'll start sending me more texts?How about using sms blocker apps? Again, question there is - do the sms blocker apps just delete spam msgs upon receiving and will I still incur the sms cost in my bill?

Jan 18, 2010I know you can do it online, but that lapses in a few months, blacklist with Handcent just hides the message.
Is there a way in the OS to really block a caller/sms. I already have sent to VM but what I'd really like is a big go fuck yourself to be sent back to them.
Google Voice would work if it would actually control my other number and not just theirs.
Any ideas/suggests?
Motorola Droid :: Does Home++ Block BW Skins?
Jun 15, 2010using Beautiful Widgets for the clock/weather widget. I am using one of the skins from the available to download section of the config. Airport One or something like that. When I turned on Home++ it took that skin off, and its not even showing in my downloaded skins. Nor is it available to re-download. This is the case with a few others I downloaded as well. When I uninstalled Home++ they all magically appeared.

Oct 3, 2010I had to .sbf last night back to 2.1, rooted with Universal Androot and then used rom manger to update to 2.2 which is 2.3.9 then when I try to restore a backup or apply any zips from sd card during clockwork Mod recovery I get the following error.

E: Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0 (or /dev/block/mmcblk0pt1)
(Device or resource busy)
Can't mount /sdcard
Does anyone have any solutions to help me out? I am not sure if it was something to do with the root method I used or something else I need to do to get it going.
The first time I rooted I installed the first leak 2.2 myself and then rooted with adb, but I no longer have the leak 2.2 file so I rooted 2.1 first then installed 2.2 like I said earlier through rom manager.

Sep 3, 2010I'm starting to get junk mail sent directly to my phone through my hotmail email account. I have added both the sender and the senders domain to the list using Windows Live Mail Beta. These emails are still getting through to my Droid X. First, there are no option on the phone to block emails is there? And secondly, there is not an option to add emails to any junk folder on the phone either that I have found. Anyone else having this problem? I've tried both adding my email accounts through Corporate (for hotmail/msn) and the email option on the phone.

Jul 21, 2010My work number is a contact, if I choose that contact to dial, the X goes to do it but in the reception bars area a red circle appears and the screen reverts back to the previous one. I can dial other numbers fine and there is service. My work number is also in all my co-workers contact cards as well. I had one contact that I deleted and added again, and then the X would dial and the call go through. Any thoughts? It is only a few numbers this happens with, no pattern I can see yet.

Nov 12, 2010Lots of my contacts - especially my "favorite" contacts - have multiple phone #'s, which is pretty typical. So it's a nice feature in the dialer that lets you select a specific number - home, office, mobile, etc., to dial every time you pull up the favorites tab within the dialer screen. I by mistake checked "use as default number" for one particular contact, but now I want to deactivate that selection and have no default number for that particular contact.
I know how to switch the default number from one to another; is there a way to deactivate the default number and just have the phone ask me which number to dial, e.g. home, office, mobile, etc.? I've been trying to tinker with everything I can to no avail, and I've also been shut out trying to answer this question online. Only thing I haven't done is call Verizon.

Sep 16, 2010I got my Droid 2 a couple weeks ago, and I'm having two problems with my contacts list: 1) For some contacts, the phone numbers aren't displayed when I view the contact. To see the numbers, I have to edit the contact. This is only true for some, not all. Is there a setting somewhere that this is controlled? 2) Sometime when I go into my contact list, I see a list of social media items for my contacts instead of their names (which is very frustrating). What controls this?
