HTC Incredible : GV - Block Phone From Receiving Incoming Texts Through VZW?
Apr 20, 2010I'm wondering if it's possible to block my phone from receiving incoming texts through VZW. I'm using GV for texting and want to completely drop my texting plan but also don't want to get hit with loads of texts coming to the wrong number. Is there just a way to prevent incoming texts altogether?
Obviously, I plan to send out a couple of "notices" of the change of number BUT you know how some people are...they just won't change the number and forget by the next time they try to text me...LOL (well sort of!) I don't want to pay per text. That could get expensive FAST!

Jun 2, 2010I'm selling my house, and my old phone number (which is still active), is on the advertisment signs and MLS. So, I'm going to keep paying my bill month to month for that account until I sell the house.
However, I'd rather not carry around 2 different phones. I did not port my number to my new service as my old number was not "local" to where I live now.
So, I have service with T-mobile and now Verizon with two different numbers. Can I set-up something where anyone who calls my T-mobile number, will ring through to my my Verizon phone/number?

I am going to be using the ustream broadcaster app over 3g to stream a concert this weekend.
I do not want the app to be interrupted by anything while im using it.. no phone calls, no txt and no notifications. As it is now if a phone call comes through it will interrupt the app to take the call. If I decline the call the stream will not restart by itself. I know i can turn off different apps notifications but how can I go about not letting phone calls or txts through?
I cant just put it into airplane mode since i need 3g and im a little lost on what options I would have.

Oct 22, 2010I recently switched from T-mobile to Verizon, and just picked up my nice shiny new HTC Incredible phone. It works great, with one exception.Whenever I get an incoming call, the phone just shows that I have an incoming call but doesn't show the caller's phone number, or the name if they are one of my contacst. It doesn't matter if the call is coming from a land line, a Verizon mobile phone, or whether or not they are on of my contacts, each time all it shows is incoming call, and nothing esle.I probably have some setting screwed up, but so far I can't find it.

Unfortunately, I get numerous calls, often with recorded messages, from people trying to sell me something for which I am not interested. On my old, non-HTC phone I would just add the unwanted incoming number to a contact called ?Delete? and set the ring for that contact to silent. The EVO 4G does not permit dozens of numbers to be added to a single number. If anyone has a better solution to tag a number as unwanted and not ring I would love to hear about it.

Apr 6, 2012I somehow (knowingly or unknowingly) touched & dialled a number from an adult content app and then hung up. Since that day, I keep getting text msgs from different numbers, with lewd text & asking me to call a number (constant across all these sms-es). I block the number using MyVerizon number blocking service; but in 2-3 days I get similar text, asking me to call the same number, from a different number. I keep on blocking this new number (from where the text came) and they keep on sending same text from a different number. This keep on increasing my text bill.
If I reply to one of those texts saying "STOP", as the verizon customer care rep suggested, wouldn't that flag my number as LIVE and they'll start sending me more texts?How about using sms blocker apps? Again, question there is - do the sms blocker apps just delete spam msgs upon receiving and will I still incur the sms cost in my bill?
Sprint HTC Hero :: Block Private Calls?
Feb 12, 2010i have tried nearly ever single application on the market that claims to block private numbers but it none of them work for me... Idk if its because of the Sprint service or the applications just dont work. I know GBlocker blocks the calls. But it dont block the texts, or prevent it from going to voicemail. Nor does it block private calls. There was this other one I had that blocked calls too but same thing with GBlocker. What i dont understand is that if you choose the option "BLOCK ALL CALLS" it will then block private calls. But the option to just block the private calls fails to work. Is there anything out there that actually works? I have considered buying extreme blocker for $5 but whats the point if it might not work? When blocked numbers call, i dont want their voicemails. Nor do I wanna know their calling.

Dec 11, 2009I have a ListView with an adapter attached. In the individual list items are placed views with widgets that continually update themselves within the list. Everything works well except for this case: Touch the list and start scrolling it just before the longTouch event would be thrown. Then lift your finger from the ListView. At this point the widget views in the ListView no longer receive onDraw events in response to the invalidate calls that continue to be made on the ListView. It is like the ListView starting blocking the invalidate calls during the scroll and forgot to re-allow them when the scrolling stopped. If I touch and scroll with out holding or scroll with a fling this does not happen. The ListView will start allowing the onDraw events back through if you touch anywhere in the list. Any ideas on how to help the ListView not block those onDraw calls?
