Sep 23, 2010My cousin was showing me on the iPhone if he double tapped the screen the youtube video went full screen.
Does Droid X anyway of doing this?

Nov 5, 2010Does anyone have an issue outputting You Tube full screen over 720p? When watching HD videos over HDMI the video has black bars over all sides. When watching videos over 420p, it fills the screen fine, but the quality isn't the same. I've tried on an Insignia and Samsung.

Motorola Droid :: Screen Seems Too Dim / Even At Full Bright
Jun 14, 2010I just got home with my new Droid and I am wondering if I got a lemon. My screen seems very dim. I didnt really notice it in the store, however compared to my Droid Eris (which is at about 30% screen brightness) the Droid looks much dimmer, even when its at 100% brightness. The only other thing I can think of is that its the Invisible Shield the guy at Best Buy applied for free. Do they dim the screen at all? With my Eris I can literally have it turned to 25% brightness and it seems brighter than the Droid at full. As does my iPod touch. It has to be turned down to 50% or so before it matches the Droid at full. I have turned off auto brightness and manually turned up the Droid to full.

Mar 26, 2010I made a boot animation. Not great but I am trying. Anyway, I can get it to look right when it is set to the center of the screen (480x427 not full screen) but when I set it to 480x854 (full screen) it gets stretched out. I was told the png files had to be 256x256 so I don't know what I could change so it doesn't look stretched. My animation looks like my avatar that I made and it looks just like it does here before applying the 854 settings. After seeing a lot of other custom boots mine isn't looking so good.

Dec 24, 2009When I'm at home, my WiFi speed is typically almost 3m DOWN and 700k UP. (Lame compared to my speeds at work) While my 3G is typically about HALF of those speeds. But here's where my confusion sets in. When I watch a YouTube video with the stock YouTube app, videos buffer faster and/or play MUCH better when using 3G. I'm wondering if the 3G connection is utilizing some kind of compression that allows this?

That said, I don't want to completely loose all of my data. My question is: I got a screen viewer on my computer to display a live feed from my droid, and I am looking for the easiest way to back up as much data as possible. I don't think I can do a nandroid backup because of the broken screen, but I can definitely root and backup using the feed on my computer.

Jul 8, 2010I just read an article about the improved youtube mobile site at m.youtube.com. I have used the youtube app since the ota that was sent out to fix it and downloaded an apk that allowed it to always default to HQ rather than having to change it each time. But I just tried out the mobile site and it is blazingly fast compared to the app. The only thing that would make me not use this over the app is that I didn't see a way to watch the videos in HQ. Am I missing something? Does anyone else have a preference for the mobile site over the app or vice versa?

Jan 25, 2010I have about 2 gigs of music on my sd card and my phone still runs smooth as silk. Then I put 8 or 9 gigs worth of videos (mp4's) on there and the whole phone started lagging BIG TIME. Like, lagging more than a...Err, slower than a...Well, something. I mean, I'd swipe from one home screen to the next and the screen wouldn't actually change for 4-5 seconds; And scrolling up and down through gchat IM's or in the app drawer was VERY choppy. I tried a power cycle and a battery pull to no avail. The only thing I did before this laggy behaivor started was dragging-and-dropping those videos onto the card, so I tried deleting them, power cycled the phone and now I'm back to the original smoothness.
I suppose I can live without watching videos on my phone (though, they would have come in handy on a roadtrip I have later this week), but has anyone experienced anything like this?
