I turned my ringer volume all the way down (one level above vibrate), but now when i receive new text/call/etc. I don't get a blinking notification. Anyone know how to fix this?

In my android application I have the following As far as I am aware, I have followed the steps in the documentation to set it to play a sound from the resources folder, and to flash the lights. However, neither of these happen. It does, however, vibrate, as instructed. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong here? I've looked through the permissions that I can give the app in the AndroidManifest.xml file, but I can't see one for letting it flash the light or make sounds. Code...

Is there a setting to keep the notification light going until the notification has been checked?I don't like having to power it up to know if I have a message, email, or missed call. I just like glancing at it to see if the light is blinking.
View 3 Replies View Related1. No sound notification. When I am texting someone back and forth, I have to back out of the thread or I do not get notified that they have responded. If I leave it open, I sit there forever thinking the person didn't respond only to wake up my phone and see that they actually did.... 10 minutes ago. Anyone else have this issue?
2. When I turn my phone on in the morning, I never get notified of new email. I have to open my mail and click refresh. I have tried letting it go thinking it would notify me at the update interval I have set, and that never happened. I went almost 2 hours until I had a new email notification, and that was because I sent something to myself to test it.
Every time I receive a Facebook notification on my Incredible, what I can only describe as a slow song plays for a few seconds. I have no recollection of setting a mp3 for the notification sound and even if I did, the song is played so slowly that it is distorted. Does anyone else have this issue? Can't I just have the default notification sound play when I have a Facebook update? Sorry if I missed a thread somewhere, but I have been searching for quite a while and I am fearful that I am the only one with this problem.

View 13 Replies View RelatedI have two questions being a relatively new Incredible owner (2.5 weeks). I wanted to know the best way to assign my own mp3/wav as a Notification sound. I know how to do it for the ringtones, but I don't see a way to add new notifications.
The other question is if there is a way to assign a different notification sound to emails and texts independently, i.e. a different sound for email than for texts.
I purchased the HTC Incredible and got it last week. In the last couple of days, I noticed the buttons at the bottom of the phone were sometimes lit and sometimes not. I went into the Verizon store today to pre-order the TV out cable and asked the tech about the lights. He said HTC was aware of several bugs and there will be an update shortly that will remedy them. On the TV out cables, they're all sold out. They're selling like hotcakes - same as the Incredible.

But for some reason when I get a voicemail it plays a sound that I selected as notification sound in Sound & Display setting. The same sound that is used for email notification.

Is there something I need to do phone wise in the settings to tell it to listen to that sound board?

I can't seem to make the notification sound stick.For example: this morning, I unmounted the SD card after syncing with Doubletwist on my PC and got into my car. When I turned on the car, the phone connected via Bluetooth to the stereo. Upon connection, the phone made a notification sound, but that sound had been changed from the default notification sound to one of my MP3s.

I open text, read, respond, then might set the phone down and have no alert that I've received another message. Used to be fine pre-2.2/wipe.

Well now, I'm not getting any sound when I have an incoming text. I'll get it maybe once in a GREAT while.
I have found ( and I willing to bet many already know this) that the sensor in the upper right side of the screen is what determines if the button lights are on or off. In a well lit room the lights will be off, if you cover that sensor or darken the room the lights come on.
What we need is someone smarter than I am to make an app or widget that disables that sensor when the phone is in the dock, if that is possible.
I got a great vm notification sound I'd like to use but can't figure out how to assign it to play for vm only.Can someone please point me in the right direction?

I have tried the volume keys, they don't work. I have tried the power/sleep key, it doesn't work. I had to wipe my phone and start over and now I can't figure out how I did that. I have Touchdown Pro for Exchange and that allows me to customize the LED for that app, but I can't find the settings for Gmail or Handcent. I know they used to be there, but I can't remember what I did to make them appear. I must have installed a third-party app, but I have no idea what it was. Any idea how I did it? I'd really like to get those notification LEDs back!
View 5 Replies View RelatedThese are our only phones and they stay on the night stand while we sleep. With the BB there were sound profiles you could easily select and the most useful one was "calls only". You select that and all of your notifications go silent except for incoming calls which would ring. This was perfect for switching on right before bed.
This is more of an issue for my wife because she's usually on call 24/7 so it's important to wake up or hear incoming calls overnight so vibrate mode isn't going to cut it. But at the same time, she has various notifications for email and messages and all of that so it's incredibly tedious to have to manually tweak all of those each night before bed and then turn them back on. So, at the very least is there an app or a way to easily switch the phone into a phone call notification only mode? A full blown sound profile app would be great too, but just being able to easily turn all notifications silent but the ringer with a few taps on the screen would be huge.
