ok so im trying to do a video chat with a friend. Knocking worked but you cant see eachother at the same time. its whoever knocked first....Qik didnt work...fring isnt working....granted i have the Droid X and not the front facing camera of the EVO. she has the first droid...

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have tried out the Fring Video calling and it works pretty well, I wanted to try the Qik solution as well, but I cannot seem to. I tried downloading the Qik app on appbrain but the Android Market cannot find it, I have messed around with the Qik app already on the phone and see nothing about video chat. the Market is not working correctly, apps such as Qik and Handcent are not accessible, hopefully they will be soon. Waiting patiently.

I have read about the Swype issue and Fring but I thought I read you could do an EVO to EVO Fring video call using just Fring. However, on the test call I have a choice of the video button, but when I try and call my daughter who is set up, I don't get a video button to hit like on the test call, just the phone call button?

View 7 Replies View RelatedAll I get is "call terminated" when I pick up and the connection is established. Tried initiating the video call from both ends (PC and EVO) with the same result. anyone?
have not tried on 4G yet since it;s dead at home (have it at the office and couple of streets down from my house - maybe I'll take a walk tonight?)
UPDATE:
-when initiating the call from the PC it rings on the phone and I only get "call terminated" when I pick it up on the EVO
- when initiating the call from the EVO it rings once and it hangs up (does not ring on the PC and I cannot answer it)
doing a restart of the EVO right now

alright, a power off and on of the EVO did it.
I have tried to do a video call via AIM through Fring and it always gives me the message "video calling is not supported by AIM", which I know is not true because I video call on my laptop through AIM.

Both these mobiles don't have a front camera in it. Is it possible to make a video call from these devices without a front camera?

I contacted them and basically was told that he doesn't have a droid x to test the theme on and doesn't know the differences between the droid1 and the droid x. If someone who is good at porting themes over to the DX could/wants to port it they can contact him at luna@anthemofthesun.com. I personally would donate to see this come to fruition.

His palm treo would anounce the person's name that was calling, he liked this for when he didnt have his phone near him, he would know who was calling and knew if to rush and get it or not. I'm not a android user YET, I have a Curve and waiting for the Nexus one to go on vzw to do the switch, so I have no idea if this option he's looking for is available for his Droid.

I've tried looking through all the settings on both the app and the desktop version and have not found anything that works. I still get my SMS through the app, so the service is working. Under her contact there are 3 numbers listed. Work, Home and Cell. If I call her work, it displays her actual name, but the other two display her google chat name. Don't know what happened.

PITA to place calls, or get them, and always have to turn off speakerphone button. Anyone know why or how to stop it? I cannot say for sure it is 2.1 issue but that is newest change I recall.

I won't be getting my phone on friday, anyone who pre orders over the phone will NOT get your phones on friday, it would be like tuesday or wed...
