Anyone else have the Droid call random people on your contacts? Man the other day it dialed someone I really didn't want to talk to. Does it every few days. Does anyone else have this issue?

For example last night I went swimming. After my swim I got out and texted my friend "Hey man I'm done swimming, whats up"? Today I check my phone and I see that the same message got sent again randomly. I did not send the text again but somehow my phone re-sent that text, and literally Erased the original message that I sent myself.
Same thing happened the other night - I sent a text apologizing to a friend that I couldn't hang out with her. The next day the text got re-sent to her somehow, and she responded with "what are you talking about?". I was like "Idk wtf happened my phone is randomly re-sending texts to people". What's going on? I don't think this ever happened before the latest software update.
I've had my Incredible since 4/28, and everything has been working smoothly up until about last Thursday night when it just restarted out of the blue while I was listening to music. Then right after it booted up, it restarted again, then again about seven more times. I got fed up and took out the SD card and it seemed to stop after that, so I haven't put the SD card back in since then.
Just now, Wednesday, about a week later, I was browsing around on the internet and all of a sudden, it restarted, and then again, and again, and again. I've read that it is because of poor signal strength or something like that so I had just enough time to put it in airplane mode before it restarted again.
Side note, that theory about it being caused by poor signal seems to make sense because the first time it happened to me I was out of town in a city that gets very bad coverage with Verizon, and now today when it started happening again was at my house where for some reason I get very bad service with the incredible, my old phone worked perfectly fine in my house but the incredible gets terrible service, and so does my brother's Droid. In fact, about two weeks ago I got my first dropped call on Verizon in about three years, and it was in my house.
So anyways, I decided to put it in airplane mode, and just after I put it in airplane mode it restarted again. Then when it booted back up my Helix Launcher 2 home screen went back to the standard Helix Launcher 2 icons, I go into my messages and everything is gone, my contacts are all gone, everything is gone. I go to the app menu and all my apps are still there, but when I start up an app, all the custom settings are default now. I went into the settings and my accounts are all still there. I click on internet and I get a terms of service agreement, it's as if I am booting it up for the first time, but for some reason my apps and accounts are all still there.
I turn airplane mode off thinking it might have something to do with it not being connected to my google account, and I restart it again and everything is still gone. I don't know what to do, has this happened to anyone before? I feel like there should be a way for me to get this stuff back since my apps are still there and my accounts are still synced, but random things are missing like my contacts and messages etc. This is really starting to get annoying, I have insurance and everything, but I really don't want to exchange it for another one because I've read that other people who have had there phones replaced have still had the same rebooting problem, even after going through multiple replacements.
I am getting frustrated with all the re-boots on my Droid. They don't seem to be related to any running service, unless it is a background service. 98% of the time the phone reboots, it is "asleep" in my pocket. I will hear the notification chime, pull the phone out, and see the droid eye. suxxor, booted again! This happens about twice a day now. Before the 2.1 OTA it was about once a day. When the phone was new, it was about once every other day. Phone was rooted, but not rom'ed before OTA. I have not re-rooted after OTA. I have not wiped (ever), but am about ready to try. Recently added Helix as my home, but had the re-boots before helix.

However, I didn't check my phone for a couple of hours and when I took it out to send a text I realized that my phone was shut off. Has anybody encountered this same issue? I didn't even have to hold my power button to start it back up. I simply pressed it like I was waking it up and it showed the power up symbol.Update: When starting up, it did not show the Motorola symbol but skipped ahead to the "Droid" sign.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI get random reboots occasionally. I do not think it is app related because it happens when my phone is in standby, I.E. in my pocket on table or even in Multimedia dock? Any suggestions anyone? One thing I think is suspect is Awakestay because It did not completely uninstall from my phone. Maybe it iscausing some kind of conflict. It was working fine and stopped working so I uninstalled when I went to reinstall it shows up as an installed app but it is not in my widget list and I do not have option to uninstall from market or app list.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI got 2.1 update OTA yesterday. it runs better, and a little smoother/faster on most everything. the problem I am experiencing is that I can just power on the phone but within 5 minutes, I have 10-15 apps showing up in ATK. I kill the apps, and within 5 minutes I have 10-15 apps again. I am not opening the apps, but they just appear. I know this is draining my life, and may be the cause for a lot of other peoples battery issues since 2.1. Can anyone help?
I have unplugged the battery for about 7 hours(overnight), but no change. Iam in the process of running the battery down completely to shutoff then recharging. This is quite annoying.
It just hit me now (I'm at work right now and I left my home, but as of last night,I was still on 2.1) but is the 3G signal supposed to disappear when you're on a phone call?

I contacted them and basically was told that he doesn't have a droid x to test the theme on and doesn't know the differences between the droid1 and the droid x. If someone who is good at porting themes over to the DX could/wants to port it they can contact him at luna@anthemofthesun.com. I personally would donate to see this come to fruition.

There are some days where I don't want any calls, and would just like to browse the Internet on my phone uninterrupted.
When I logoff Skype it deletes a random contact in my contact data. Does not happen every time but it happens enough to be a real pain. I have been monitoring this for about 3 weeks now. This is the only time I lose contacts. I always go to People - Menu - View before I logoff Skype to see how many contacts I have. It is so frustrating to see the number drop after I logoff Skype. Does anyone else have this problem? I feel it has to be a bug in the Skype application. I do see in Manage applications - Skype Mobile - Permissions that the application can read and write contact data. This supports what I am seeing. How do I go about getting this problem resolved?

View 6 Replies View RelatedHe's got a Cricket LG Optimus C, and I've got a Cricket Huawei Mercury. A couple of weeks ago, my son's contact list all of a sudden had a bunch (like over 100) random contacts added to it, all of people he doesn't know. Now all of a sudden, mine has done the same thing - I suddenly have a bunch of random contacts in my list, and I don't know any of them. I opened a bunch of them up, and they all have the same area code as we've got, if that makes any difference. I haven't downloaded any apps in about a week, so I don't think that could have anything to do with it, plus the most recently downloaded apps that I have were things that my son didn't have, so I don't think that an app is the reason for it. I did a google search, and I couldn't find anything like it. It's not a huge deal, but it's annoying to have to go through and delete a bunch of contacts, so if there's anything in particular causing it, I'd like to figure out how to stop it from happening again.

In my contacts, I've got it set to only show Phone contacts, and I've hidden Sim/Gmail contacts. I've also linked all my contacts with their Facebook profiles. So in my contacts list (People), it's fine. However, when I go to messaging and start typing a name in the To field, there's a duplicate of everyone. As far as I can see, there's no similar "hide SIM" option etc for the texting/calling, so I'm just wondering how to sort this? I saw someone to try deleting all phone contacts and just using your SIM contacts but to be honest I'd rather not do this, since I like to just use my SIM contacts as a basic backup if you get me.

His palm treo would anounce the person's name that was calling, he liked this for when he didnt have his phone near him, he would know who was calling and knew if to rush and get it or not. I'm not a android user YET, I have a Curve and waiting for the Nexus one to go on vzw to do the switch, so I have no idea if this option he's looking for is available for his Droid.

I've tried looking through all the settings on both the app and the desktop version and have not found anything that works. I still get my SMS through the app, so the service is working. I just can't get it to call out using my google voice number, and this was automatic on my incredible

Under her contact there are 3 numbers listed. Work, Home and Cell. If I call her work, it displays her actual name, but the other two display her google chat name. Don't know what happened.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI downloaded a pattern lock widget and I wasn't sure if I really wanted to use it so I opened the widget and read the first screen or two to see what it was all about but I never set up a pattern on it - I decided that I didn't want the program. So I set my phone aside for a minute and the screen locked but when I hit the power button to turn the screen back on, the pattern lock screen was there, not the "slide to unlock" screen.
So I just ran my fingers in a random pattern (not even connecting dots - just a random swipe) and it let me right in, Okay, fine. Then I went and uninstalled the app and tried locking the screen to make sure it was gone. Sure enough, the pattern lock screen was there when I tried to unlock it. Again, I ran my fingers in a random swipe and it let me in. I tried pulling the battery and that didn't get rid of it.
So at this point, I seem to be stuck with a pattern lock screen to unlock my phone that is not set to any specific pattern...And I don't even have the app installed anymore! (It's not listed in the list of installed apps.) How do I get rid of it? I just want to go back to the stock "slide to unlock" screen.
