On the droid x I'm trying to down load a apk file and I also checked off accepting unknown files but when I download the apk it says can't download to this device

Maybe I'm late, but I just discovered that the dolphin browser is able to download you tube vidz to your SD. Even if you use the default browser, just having dolphin browser installed should enable it. Try it below (also works by going to you tube.com).

Do i need to do it through a PC, a file manager, or something else? Other than this the rom seems to be running great! i just can't download somethings so i'm thinking i'm missing some point or something.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a friend who has a moto droid and I have the Dinc. We work for the railroad and we can carry the railroad rules on our phones instead of carrying our rule books. I use Isilo on my phone and download the rules from the UPRR web page. My friend installed Isilo but his moto droid won't allow him to download PDB isilo files. When he tries to download the file it say's that the file is an unsupported file. Can someone help please?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to download the SMS app from XDA and the guy has it up as a zip file. I download it and extract it, and it's a folder with random crap in it. No apk.
Then I read that I just change the file name. I'm on a Mac, so I change the filename and it verifies if I want to change it from .zip to .apk and I say "yes." Put it on my card and Astro still doesn't recognize it. It's list, but it's an icon with a window and a gear in front of it.
I installed the Vanilla email app, no problem. Not sure what the deal is with this one.
I just got my MS for about more than a week now and I am facing a problem with downloading apps through WiFi. It will just get stuck at "Starting download...".
View 5 Replies View RelatedI can't seem to copy files to the sdcard inserted into the phone. When I try to do this with Windows Explorer, it just hangs there, and the sdcard area of the phone gets really hot. Once I unplug the USB cable Windows Explorer resumes, but the phone is still stuck there and unresponsive to any button/touch screen presses, and the phone remains hot. Copying from the sdcard works.

When someone sends me a pic I get an alert that it was not able to be downloaded, to retry, and then it doesn't work again. Sometimes it will push through a non received picture message from weeks ago and sometimes I just wont get any notification at all. Does Update fix the non dowloadable MMS?

I took it to the Verizon store yesterday and they told me that it is a known issue with the phone, and they are working on corrective software to solve the problem. Anyone else have the same issue ? On my school's site I try to download a variety of file types including .pdf .doc .ppt and some .zip and it's the same thing with all of them, this has happened on several other sites as well, but usually I can download these file types without a problem. The idea is that the default resources will be distributed with the application and company specific resources will be loaded from our server after they click on a link from an email to launch the initialisation intent. Does anyone know how to replace resource files? I would really like to keep using resource files to avoid rewriting a lot of code/XML. I would distribute the application from our own server, rather than through the app store, so that we could have one version per company, but unfortunately this will give quite nasty security warnings that would concern our customers.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to download mp3 files from my file server onto my Droid. Everytime I try to download a song I get the error message Download Unsuccessful. I thought it was a problem with my server but all of my computers can download from it, and I just went and got my mom's Droid ERIS to test. It could successfully download mp3 files from the server. This is ridiculous, why wouldn't my Droid be able to download these files but the ERIS can? Is this a case of Droid DOESN'T?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI uploaded about 50 pictures from iPhoto (using a Mac) just to see what they looked like and then later formatted the Droid's SD card, so the pictures were no longer there.
Now, if I mount the Droid via USB and view the file structure there is a folder named /albumthumbs which contains 50 files, presumably for the 50 pictures a had on the SD card.
To me, these file, unless linking to actual photos stored on the SD card, take up extra space in the phone's memory (not worried about the SD card). I wonder if I can safely delete them (just the files...not the folder)?
I can't download anything through the browser, individual apps or the market (including updates. If I try it on a wifi connection (perfect connection until I try) it stops the download immediately. Either "download stopped" or "download unsuccessful". On 3G It's basically the same but slower. Since this started, last night, everything is slow on 3G. I'm also having a separate problem updating apps. I keep getting the message "Sorry, there's not enough space to install this item." I have not installed anything new and have uninstalled some apps to clear some space. I keep getting the message even after I uninstalled several games. I now have 93MB free on my phone. I'm sure that an update to an app that I already had installed doesn't need more space than that. My wife just updated the same apps on her EVO.
