Does anyone know a way to download files from a Sharepoint site that requires a password to download? ( I have the password, I just never get prompted and the file just sits and waits for a server response).

Google Chrome doesn't trust my university's website where all of my school documents and resources are, and thus won't let me download any files from the site. It's nothing crazy or illegitimate, it's my school's site... it just makes it difficult when I want to download pdf files or word documents to work on the go. Any remedy at all aside from downloading on my computer and saving to Google drive?

Do i need to do it through a PC, a file manager, or something else? Other than this the rom seems to be running great! i just can't download somethings so i'm thinking i'm missing some point or something.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a friend who has a moto droid and I have the Dinc. We work for the railroad and we can carry the railroad rules on our phones instead of carrying our rule books. I use Isilo on my phone and download the rules from the UPRR web page. My friend installed Isilo but his moto droid won't allow him to download PDB isilo files. When he tries to download the file it say's that the file is an unsupported file. Can someone help please?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to download the SMS app from XDA and the guy has it up as a zip file. I download it and extract it, and it's a folder with random crap in it. No apk.
Then I read that I just change the file name. I'm on a Mac, so I change the filename and it verifies if I want to change it from .zip to .apk and I say "yes." Put it on my card and Astro still doesn't recognize it. It's list, but it's an icon with a window and a gear in front of it.
I installed the Vanilla email app, no problem. Not sure what the deal is with this one.

View 4 Replies View Relatedmy testers on Droids and Nexus Ones (Android 2.0.1 and 2.1) were complaining that their downloads are failing. Since I don't have an 2.0 phone, I tried it out in a 2.0 emulator, and lo-and-behold, it didn't work. The download shows the indeterminate progress for a second or two, then shows "Download unsuccessful".
Based on what I see in the logs, it is apparent that the server is returning a 404 for the download request from 2.0 browsers. I can download to my desktop and 1.6 phone no problem. The only reason I can think of that the server would return a 404 for a request is that for some reason the credentials or cookies aren't being passed by the download process. Logcat shows: http error 404 for download x.......
Does anyone know when their beta will re-open so we can download it? Or is their a way to download the file while bypassing their official site?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm currently hosting an app on my own server so my beta testers can test it. I've set up the apk MIME type to be application/ vnd.android.package-archive, and when I try to download the app from the emulator, it downloads the 53KB apk file and installs it. When I try to do the same thing from a real ADP1 device, it only loads 43KB. When I try to install it, the system says that I'm trying to install an app that already exists (called "Android System") and that doesn't require any permissions, but nothing happens when I proceed. logcat tells me
"D/asset (16379): failed to open Zip archive '/ sdcard/download/[name of the app].apk'
Bonus points! When I try to download the app from the emulator, I can see that in the accesslog of my server. Not so when I download it from the device, even after deleting /sdcard/download/* and clearing the cache through the settings. Almost as if the device was loading an old copy from a proxy server. I'm not sure which APN I'm using, but none of the T-Mobile APNs have a proxy AFAICS. Is there a way to circumvent the proxy, assuming that this is the case? And/or tell the proxy not to cache this apk file?

View 1 Replies View RelatedHQ videos don't download fast enough on 3G or Wifi! I didn't think too much of it until my friend came over with his new Iphone 4G. I told him about the new mobile youtube site so that he can see the videos in HQ. He was on the crappy ATT 3G network and was able to play a video in HQ without any problems at all. It was downloading about twice as fast as it was playing. I was very surprised. I then tried the exact same video but it just sat there trying to download. It would play for about 2 seconds then stop. It was really bad. I then turned on my wifi, but it did the exact same thing. I restarted the phone, turned on wifi again, did a speed check so I knew that the wifi was working, then tried it again. Still wouldn't download any HQ youtube video faster than it was playing. I'm just really surprised that my overclocked droid (1.25ghz) on the verizon network (or wifi) couldn't come close to keeping up with the Iphone 4 on ATT's crappy network. I kind of feel like something is wrong here so I though I would ask if anyone else is able to play HQ videos on 3G without it stopping. In other words, is it downloading faster than its playing.

The site is uses a Kobo ereader and they sell them at the Borders bookstores. I am just thrilled to finally find someplace that has an easy access to purchase current books for my little Droid.

Whenever I do, it causes the web browser to automatically open and start playing an annoying "helpful video" from the Verizon site. Does anyone know how to make it stop loading? Obviously I can close it out, but it is really annoying. I have root, so I can access the internal memory and delete the offending file. I just don't know which one to remove.

This site requires me to log in, but the log in page does not appear, and instead i get a HTTP Error 401.2 -You are not authorized to view this page.I've tried this with Opera Mini as well - no luck.
