I have a new HTC Droid Eris. I am unable to download pictures off text messages. I took it to the Verizon store yesterday and they told me that it is a known issue with the phone, and they are working on corrective software to solve the problem. Anyone else have the same issue ? (They wanted to do a hard reset which I declined).

My phone gets the text with the picture, but doesn't download it. I go to manually download it and it says it was an unsuccessful download over and over. Any help?

Well, I did the factory reset and the phone is back up and running (battery still sucks, though) but I can't seem to send any text messages.

I was ok with it at first but now its a problem and is making my phone lag. i try to delete them but it goes to a black page and freezes up and i eather have to force close or turn it off. is this happening to anyone else?

When creating shortcuts to call or message someone is there a way to get rid of the M (H, W, etc) that is put in the upper left corner of the icon on my screen? I don't mind the little phone or convo. icons in the right corner but the M is just too big and covers up a good bit of the icon

View 1 Replies View Relatedthe Camera on my Eris will not take pictures due to an error saying it has insufficient file permissions to save pictures to my SD card. I have not unmounted my SD card since this has happened nor did I do it before. I have unmounted it before, but it was never a problem. The camera will not save pictures at all not matter what app is using the camera (Default Android Camera, Facebook, Photoshop Mobile).

I get a notification that the "Message was not downloaded"...under that it says: "Generic Network Failure". I've seen a number of posts on various forums about this...but can't find a fix. Predictably, Sprint's suggestion is to do a hard reset. (They act as if that's no big deal...seems to me that it will take a long time to get my device put back together the way it is). BTW: Have tried to access texts via 3g rather than Wi-Fi, etc. Lately, it has been one thing after the other with the EVO.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a question. I recently downloaded Handcent to try it out and one day out of nowhere, MMS messages won't download. I click the download button an retry and it fails after about a second. I uninstalled Handcent, dialed *228 to reprogram, and sometimes it works, but often it doesn't. Sometimes, I'll even get an MMS from one person, but the message appears in a different thread, still not being able to Download. I searched for the problem and came across this being common for the Hero, but I'm not sure if its related to my Eris. Anyone with an Eris have experience with this? Or tips? I want to stay away from a Hard Reset, but will try it if I can sync my contacts.
View 3 Replies View RelatedIm using the stock messaging app and for about 3 weeks or so I haven't been able to receive an MMS messages. Everytime i receive one it will say in the notification bar "message not downloaded, retransmission scheduled for xx:xx" and in the actual message there is an option to download but when that is selected it just reverts back to the message in the notification bar.
View 11 Replies View RelatedOcassionaly, when responding to a text, the area you type in for me that says "Tap to compose" is greyed out and when I type, nothing happens. Usually requires a reboot. Anyone have any idea why it would be doing this or how to fix it? I love my phone, but the reboots take forever.

When someone sends me a pic I get an alert that it was not able to be downloaded, to retry, and then it doesn't work again. Sometimes it will push through a non received picture message from weeks ago and sometimes I just wont get any notification at all. Does Update fix the non dowloadable MMS?

I tried e-mailing the video to myself, but when I try to download it from Gmail, it says "unable to fetch attachment" How can I send video to someone else? Is there a way to change the extension?
View 4 Replies View RelatedFor a while now, I don't know exactly how long, my phone stopped receiving pictures in text messages.I get a notification that a new text msg is in, but when I click on it, it just says "downloading".Once in a blue moon the pic will appear after about 20 minutes, but most of the time it never comes up.I am using Handcent, but I get the same result with the stock messaging program.The one thread I saw said that a hard reset had to be done.I really don't want to have to do that.

View 3 Replies View RelatedOn a Samsung Fascinate (not sure if that is relevant) does anyone know how to make pictures that come in to a text message just show up in the message. I got my first incoming text on this phone with a picture attached. I saw the message and a "play" button. Push the button, goes to a screen 1/2 which just has the text itself (which I have already read at this point in the original bubble), then sits for a few seconds, then finally goes to screen 2/2, pulls up the picture, with no text. If I go back to the original message, the play button is still there and I have to go through it all over again. Any setting/apps anyone knows of to just have the picture come up automatically as part of the text.
I am coming from a Palm Pre and the photo would just be sitting there when I opened the message.
I used to be able to send pics in text messages, but the last few I sent come up as sent but with a speech bubble and clock symbol on it. And these pic messages with this symbol aren't being received by the person I'm sending them to.I can't figure out what its all about.
View 10 Replies View RelatedAbout a month ago, all the sudden I couldnt recieve any attached pictures sent to me through text messages. I thought that maybe it was an application that may have caused this so i did a factory reset and installed only minimal apps that I use regularly. It fixed the problem and worked fine right after so I thought maybe that was it. Now after about 3 weeks or so, I am not getting attached pics in text messages again. I have not downloaded any apps either. When someone sends me a pic it will say who its from, the message size which ALWAYS says 6KB, and the expiration date. It will show a download box on the top right of the message abd when i push it, it will say downloading, then I will get a notification saying that the download was unsuccessful. What could be the cause of this?? I would hate to have to do a factory reset every 3-4 weeks to address this problem.

I have my Facebook account synced and it shows the pictures under my call log, contacts, dialer, but does not show the contact pictures in my text messages? Anyone know how to fix this, it really annoys me seeing a bunch of empty picture slots when looking at my text message list.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI got my Samsung Galaxy Precedent last week, and after some bumps trying to get used to this, I've been able to fix most problems I've had, except with images in texts.
I can send or attach messages to texts, but I don't get any images being sent to me. The Precedent runs on Straight Talk's network, and has "unlimited" talk, text and data. It's letting me send as far as I know, but I can't get any incoming pics in texts.
Just had to reboot my phone because my text messages were not sending and giving me some cryptic error that didnt tell me anything worthwhile.Wondering if anyone has seen this on their Eris? I've read about text message issues on the Hero, but so far not anything about the Eris yet. Hopefully it was just a 1-time fluke up until then it's been working perfectly for 3 days now, and its working perfectly fine again now.
