I am looking for help in transferring to a replacement Droid. In hopes of transferring my apps I installed Titanium Backup, then a system update I found on the forum to allow it to root, which it did not.I would like to back up my Droid, then remove all changes to the OS b4 returning.If anyone has some quick steps and directions for me I would appreciate it.I am new to this whole idea of rooting.

However only a second or two after the notification window was up it suddenly disappeared and kicked me back to my home screen. When I returned to the notification window the app update notifications were no longer there. Is there a way that I can make my Droid go check for updates again?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have an unrooted Evo and I'm really low on internal space and don't want to root...if I could delete the system update files like "com.htc 2.1-update 1" and "Android System 2.1-update1", that would help to free up about 23mb of space...can I uninstall them or would that revert the system to the pre-updated state?

After that, the notificaton area said I have four updates waiting.I think I selected the "My Tracks" app for update, but when I did, it told me to make sure I had at least 40% battery charge, the phone would be unusable during the update, etc., and it proceeded to install the OTA update to build 1.17.605.1.That's fine, but now the phone doesn't show any apps with available updates.Will these apps automatically notify me again that updates are available? Do all apps routinely check?

View 49 Replies View RelatedI'm on 2.2 bugless beast .4 right now. Tonight I was transfering a movie to my phone via usb. Long story short, I needed to cancel the transfer in the middle and remove my phone. Now my phone is freezing like mad, and I absolutely can't connect to my computer (not to mention that freezes it completely.) Removing the SD card seems to help, but not much. Anyone have any ideas on how to remedy this?

Install Motorola Driver
Open Folder to View Files
Okay, should be the second option. But when I click on this (Open Folder), the only folder options I get are things like: Autorun, Config, Setup, etc.). No "folders" per se.

I get my Droid X delivered tomorrow and I want to know how I can get Beatiful Widgets (on my Droid currently) on my Droid X without purchasing it again? When I transferred them over to the Droid, then using the app Android and Rings Extended (no longer working - now coming up as 3rd party app) all my ringtones got significantly shortened.
I had them all set up as MP3 and small (220kb or less). Each one was 30 seconds long or less. Both applications hacked them off between 10 and 20 seconds. Anybody else having this issue?
I have a HTC Droid Eris and a 16gb micro SD card. My phone's internal memory is starting to run low, and I was wondering how to get my Eris to save my apps to my card instead.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am having difficulty transferring music that I bought via the amazon mp3 store from my droid to my computer (a mac) and itunes. I know how to connect/mount my droid to the computer, and have successfully transferred amazon mp3's that I purchased in the past. Just recently, I began experiencing problems. When I try to drag and drop, I get error messages saying that the file cannot be transferred because it is "in use." Or when I attempt to drag and drop to itunes, basically itunes freezes and I have to force quit.

I recently moved to Sprint, where I have an HTC Hero on the way soon. I'm curious if the Google account I originally used with my Nexus One is linked to the applications I've already purchased and if by using that same account when my Hero arrives if I will be able to install those same applications w/o having to repurchase them. It makes sense in my mind as they were not sold with the Nexus One as the phone was wiped, but I'm not sure if that's the way it will work. Any incite?
View 2 Replies View RelatedJust got myself a new 16gb memory card, and want to put in my rooted Hero with Elelinux 1.6, but having trouble.Heres what I've done so far:
* I copy/pasted everything from my old membery card onto my pc desktop.
* Put new mem card into my hero - sorted out the partitions (in case I go back to 2.1 and need app2sd)
* Formatted the sd card within Android
* copy/pasted everything from my pc desktop onto my new memory card
The problem is, none of my installed apps/widgets are there. I tried to install Titanium from the marketplace, but for some reason wasn't able to - it just sort of hung on the download screen, (even though I didn't actually choose to download it?)
My droid has broken but I can still use 't. I was wondering if there is a wan to transfer my apps over to my new phone so I don't lose them or have to redownload them all. Like a file jpampddp app? Tried astro file Manager? I have a droid incredible 2

My dad and I both have the Droid; i'm in my early 20's, he's in his late 50's, and we both LOVE the phone.My dad is trying to transfer a video (in the .wmv format) to his Droid so he can watch it at any time. He can successfully transfer the video but when he goes to the gallery to find it he has a lot of trouble, sometimes the phone crashes and he can never find the file.Anyone have any ideas? Does he need a different media player? He is open to any new apps (free or not) and is very interested in finding a solution for this.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo, in the past, with 2.1 or 2.2 when I would rename the blurhome.apk to .bak the phone would then run extremely slow and shutter a lot, basically running like crap, with consistently low quadrant scores (800s). Since installing the 2.3.13 leak I tried renaming the blurhome.apk to .bak and have found that it no longer causes the phone to run lousy. Quadrant scores are the same and everything survives a reboot. I figured others might want to know this also.

However, I want to make playlists via computer GUI and transfer that file. How do you do it. I can create play lists through the phone but that is tough using a phone.
I want to do it like I did with double twist and just copy that to my phone but for some reason now DT wont work on my phone. This is a huge deal breaker, transferring songs is ok, but I want to organize it/make play lists on my PC which is much easier and then transfer it over. Any help with DT or making a play list using Itunes/Zune/DT and transferring it over using drag/drop?
With the imminent arrival of the Magic I was wondering what impact this would have on both end users and developers who want to transfer their apps over, or may even have both handsets for whatever reason. Is there a licensing provision for it? A means via software? This will become more of an issue as the other new Android handsets are launched.
