Is it possible to copy information from an email? Coming from a BB, when I received a link in an email I could directly click it to view the site. I can't do that on the droid or copy the link to paste in a browser

I forgot my password to this very site, so I reset it from my droid. A couple of seconds later I receive an email with my temporary password, I try to copy it to paste it into the login window in the browser and I find myself at a loss on how to copy text from an email. I google around and find this: How do you copy/paste text from the Gmail app? - Android Community Forums. It says it is not possible? (The provided workaround does not work). This is a major bummer, I've been doing this on my old BlackBerry for years.

Unfortunately I have no success on that. It will always inform me paired but not connected. View 3 Replies View RelatedThe email account that I use on a regular basis is the email account that my high school set up for me. It is not an account that is organized with a bigger company such as google, yahoo, hotmail, etc. When I tried to set up my email account on my Droid ally, it asks me for a lot of detailed information about my server and then said it could not connect. I used to have a Blackberry Tour and it did not require any information other than username and password to set up an email account so I know my school does not have any restrictions on this type of thing.
Does anyone know what I should do? The Verizon store had no idea.

Anywho, one pressing issue I haven't been able to find a solution to is regarding email.
1. How do I copy text from an email? I know if I first reply to an email then I can copy text, but is there a way to do so without having to first hitting the reply button?
2. How do I move emails from one folder to the next?
I'm currently just using the stock email client that came on my Captivate, are there others that are more powerful (not sure you can really call it 'powerful' to be able to copy text and move emails around).
I am concern that if I lose my phone, and it is found by an honest person, they will not know how to return it. So I was wondering if anyone knows how to display return information if the pattern lock is on?

It says that I cannot do this (seems odd that the phone would be set up this way) to a facebook synced contact. The second is, how do I manually sync my contacts to add new FB friends to my Droid contact list? I may be missing something obvious, but is there a way to select and copy text from within an email? For example I just got a message sent to my gmail account with a friends new home address, but while I can read the email obviously, scrolling through the message I cant actually select any text within it to copy out his address and then paste it into my contacts.

My problem is I can not for the life of me find any information on transferring my e mail accounts without imputing everything all over again which will take for ages so copy & paste affair to transfer all my e mail settings from pop settings and log in passwords as I have 7 e mail accounts that need transferred surely I am not going to have to do this manually which will take ages if it has to be done manually.

Also is there a file structure in place where you *must* put specific file types? (I have the pdf manual, and want to copy it as well to the DX... I'm not sure where it goes though, or how to move the file over.)

When I connect my DX to a computer with the USB cable, I usually use "PC Mode" or "Windows Media Sync" instead of "USB Mass Storage". Because (a) then I can still access the SD card on the phone, and (b) I don't need to remember to unmount the SD card from the PC before disconnecting the cable.
The strange thing is that on my work computer, I can copy files from the phone to the computer no problem. But on my home computer, when I try to copy a file, nothing happens. (I have Windows XP on both computers). I see the SD card directory tree in Explorer on the PC. I drag a file from one of the SC card folders into a folder on my PC. But then nothing happens.
If I use "USB Mass Storage", then it works well okay.
I m little confuse. i have a wallpaper folder on the sd card with files to use as wallpaper. i would resize using the yellow crop & save. why does it save another copy? why does it not just use the original file? so now the wallpaper folder has two copies of the same file.

When I keep installing new themes, and flashing back to .sbf, the most annoying part is signing back in to my phone to have to download the bootstrap then wipe my phone again. I am by NO MEANS trying to cheat the developer out of profits he makes selling this app, just trying to more "effectively" use the copy I paid for.
