I just realized I can't long press on a news article / web page and choose specific words to copy them. I'm using Dolphin browser. Is there a plugin I need? As much as I love my DX this is a disappointment.

When I open the emu and type su and hit enter, it brings up an "Edit Text" dialog box with the options to copy or paste and it won't let me proceed. (I have successfully done it before on another ROM). Am I doing something wrong? Can I run scripts using Root Explorer and how? Is there another emu you would recommend?

For example- I work in music, and people frequently call or text asking for the phone numbers of cellists and violinists I know so they can hire them for recording sessions. "Sure," I reply, "I'll text the numbers to you." Then, I have to look up the numbers in my People app, write them down on a piece of paper (or on a notepad on my computer), and then write the names and numbers into a text message. That works for home, but when I'm on the road it really screws the process. Can I start the text message and then import the names and numbers as text? I really want to be able to add more than contact to the text message (I'm not talking about recipients here, I mean sending a text that is a list of names and phone numbers).

View 8 Replies View RelatedI got an Eris today. I am happy with the phone in general, but I did not realize how much I may want a keyboard with a smart phone. I may go back and get the Motorola version tomorrow.
My only concern is I do not know how to turn off getting the mobile versions of web pages as the default on the Motorola Droid. There is an option to turn off getting mobile versions of web pages as the default on the Eris, but I could not find it on the Motorola version. If I am getting a fast phone with a good browser, I want the full version of web pages-not scaled down mobile versions. Can I change that option on the Motorola?
I have seen other peoples desktops on their Droids, and they seem like they have at least 2 left of center, and 2 right of center pages. How is this done? I only have center , left and right to put my icons.

View 22 Replies View RelatedAlright, I went to a website that I was directed to go to. I had no problem viewing the main page, but when I click on a tab from the home page, it opens up that over top of the home page, like an overlay. I have no problem seeing this either. The problem is when I try to scroll on the overlay, I get these black boxes that surround the overlay and then it locks up and kicks me out of the browser or reboots my phone. I tried messing with the browser setting but that didn't help. Does anyone know what may be causing this?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to create an app that allows the user to read a long text and horizontally swipe to change pages pretty much like the Kindle app. I understand that I can implement the horizontal swipe function using the viewpager and pageradapater classes, however I'm not sure how to split the long text over the different pages. At the moment I think I need to take the text and split it programatically before passing it on the the pageradapter. Would this be the best way or is there some easier way using the pageradapater class itself.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI was looking at the Captivate and the iphone4 in store today and when comparing the same web pages in full page view the text on the Captivate was much smaller than the iphone4, even though the iphone screen is smaller. Zoom just made everything bigger so it wasn't in full page anymore. Is there a way to make the text bigger while in full page view? On a side note, that iphone4 screen is super sharp for text and the whites were much whiter vs the blueish tint on the Captivate.

I'm upgrading from my Droid 1 to the Droid X tomorrow and would like to start my use of the DX with it's new 32gb card in place of my old 16gb card from my Droid 1 but need to know if there's anything required to copy from my droid 1 16gb card to my new DX 32 gb card that would be required or helpful in the DX use.I will obviously transfer music/vids/pics but are there any essential files, apps, etc. that are needed.Or is it a good idea to use my paid MyBackupPro to copy the old Droid 1 apps/data for use in the DX larger memory card or is this not copatible to perform between the 2 devices?
