Oct 2, 2010Trying to upgrade back to the 2.2 leaks but I can't find a 2.3.9 version to go to, ROM manager appears to only have the 2.2 OTA, been searching for about 3 hrs now.

Most of the ones out there seem to use magnets, which I've read is a bad idea.I want one that at least somewhat protects the corners so that I can take the hard shell (Body Glove) off (although I think I'm going to get one of the invisible shields for it).

Jul 27, 2010I'm a recent iPhone convert -- picked up a Samsung Captivate last week and have been really enjoying it, though I think I may get a refund and switch to the DroidX due to various issues I have with the Captivate.
Anywho, one pressing issue I haven't been able to find a solution to is regarding email.
1. How do I copy text from an email? I know if I first reply to an email then I can copy text, but is there a way to do so without having to first hitting the reply button?
2. How do I move emails from one folder to the next?
I'm currently just using the stock email client that came on my Captivate, are there others that are more powerful (not sure you can really call it 'powerful' to be able to copy text and move emails around).

A couple of seconds later I receive an email with my temporary password, I try to copy it to paste it into the login window in the browser and I find myself at a loss on how to copy text from an email. I google around and find this: How do you copy/paste text from the Gmail app? - Android Community Forums. It says it is not possible? (The provided workaround does not work). This is a major bummer, I've been doing this on my old BlackBerry for years.

For example I just got a message sent to my gmail account with a friends new home address, but while I can read the email obviously, scrolling through the message I cant actually select any text within it to copy out his address and then paste it into my contacts.

Jun 20, 2010I want to run some scripts in BB. When I open the emu and type su and hit enter, it brings up an "Edit Text" dialog box with the options to copy or paste and it won't let me proceed. (I have successfully done it before on another ROM). Am I doing something wrong? Can I run scripts using Root Explorer and how? Is there another emu you would recommend?

Right now, the only way I can figure out to avoid it is to delete my email account from my phone. Most of my email is garbage so I don't need to hear a sound everytime a spam mail comes through. Aug 16, 2010I've had this happen to me twice now over the past week. It seems that periodically my notification sounds will stop. I will see that I have new emails but never heard the sound. I will then go send myself a test text message and it will vibrate but make no sound. I've made sure all my volumes are up, and even went in to pick a notification sound and it will work fine in the sound chooser when I pick it.
I also noticed both times that it did this if I go in to Spare Parts or Battery History and look my phone is staying awake and Android Usage is the one with the partial wake lock. Generally I don't have any sleep issues, it only happens when my notification sounds have also quit working. The only way to fix it is power off and back on and then all is good again.
