1. force updated to froyo FRG01B 2. got email to work with corporate exchange server 3. force updated to froyo FRG22D 4. email still working 5. 2 weeks later, had to change password due to corporate policy 6. email no longer works, can't change password on the phone, dies with "force close" option 7. factory reset 8. can't configure email to work at all 9. had to download "improved email" to get it working. Interesting that only when I had to change password before it blew up.

I'm just going crazy reading a new thread every 5 minutes of someone discovering a new issue with their X after installing a leaked and of course UNOFFICIAL build of Froyo. I mean you've already been warned of the potential problems and risks you might face with installing the leaked build; so why take the chance of potentially bricking your phone? Either way, maybe the mods can create a separate Froyo sub-forum for the time being, until we finally see an official release.

View 2 Replies View RelatedAlright, I've browsed the site a bit and have been lurking for a couple weeks now. I also did some google searching that wasn't entirely helpful. I'm looking to root my Droid currently running the OTA Froyo update, but I'm unable to find instructions for doing this with a Mac. Buying the Easy Root key is kind of out of the question ($0.78 in the checking account - college is great), so I'm turning to your infinite wisdom for help. I'm basically looking for a sequence of steps/the links and downloads I will need. Has anyone else already done this? I'm new to the rooting concept, but it sounds like it's worth it.
View 9 Replies View RelatedThis is what I'm dealing with. I Used astro to get my droid into the 2.2 FRG01B but I'm NOT rooted from stocked 2.1 just like in the Guide but i didn't Backup any files or i don't have SPRecovery, or anything like that. My recover screen reads as follow;
1:Reboot
2:apply update.zip (which is what i did the first time to get to 2.2)
3:wipe date/Factory reset
4:Wipe Cache partition
5:wipe baseband data
As you can see i don't have install or anything of that nature. Now my question is, is there a way to get me back to 2.1 Stocked like when i got it or am i pretty much screwed with what i've done? If i haven't totally messed up can somebody provide a step by step so i don't mess anything up further.
Last week I forced the OTA 2.2 for droid and now my phone is almost unusable. It was "kinda laggy" right after the update but now it is a 2 second delay just to get numbers to type in on the dial pad. It makes me wish I had waited.
I did notice that EVERYTHING is starting in the background when I look at my task killer. If I kill everything then it runs smooth for maybe 30 secs before everything starts back up again.
Is my slowness being caused by this or is there something else I can do to make is usable again. I am really hoping that FRG22 fixes this major problem for me as I loved my droid before but almost want to toss it out the window now.
Kills me waiting 5-10 secs for handcent to even startup.
If I forced FRG01B will i receive FRG22 OTA?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just bought a rooted Nexus One with a FRF83 build preinstalled. It's been working great but I keep getting messages about installing OTA updates but they always fail (says E: No signature (575 files) E: Verification Failed) I tried manually downloading the FRF85 and FRF91 update, copying as update.zip to my SD updating from the recovery menu but it still gives the same error. From the little info I've found online it may be an issue with the ROM but I can't tell for sure. My ultimate goal would be to go back to stock Android with the latest official Froyo build.

View 5 Replies View RelatedAlright, a couple very minor issues I'm having that I can't get figured out. One, how do you edit someone's contact information who is synced with Facebook? It says that I cannot do this (seems odd that the phone would be set up this way) to a facebook synced contact. The second is, how do I manually sync my contacts to add new FB friends to my Droid contact list? Third (I know I said I had two), how do you create a separate Family/Frienda/Coworkers list within the contacts program?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm a bit curious about this.. if i go into Settings > Apllications > Manage applications in the list that is displayed there in one just called "IM" which has an icon of a red and a blue speech bubble leading me to belive that it's some sort of instant messanger application. But it doesn't display at all in the list of applications so there is no way of launching it.
Now I know there are a whole range of system apps in the manage list but does anyone know what this "IM" is and is it a usable IM client?
I am very curious to know who hasn't flashed this leak, who has flashed it, and who had problems flashing it. Don't forget to vote and post details if you would like.

View 5 Replies View RelatedWas getting ready to install the edited build.prop. I had renamed the old one to build.prop.bak, and somehow managed to restart the phone without putting a new one in. The phone stays at the M screen, and I can get into the standard recovery. Is there anyway I can push a new build.prop file through standard recovery? The only thing I have tried to do is reapply the 2.2 update.zip I was running, which didn't work due to signature verification failure.

I have come to the conclusion that vzw aborted the ota on the 1st 2.2, and not many people have gotten it. It seems at least on this forum that everyone has 2.2 via a forced update. Very few people have chimed in that they got a ota.However, given that vzw is releasing the droid2 on Thu the 12th, I would think that this is going to have the newest froyo, not the version released ota that everyone forced with. Correct thinking?
If that is also true, then shouldn't we be seing something coming out ota for us 2.1 droid 1 users very shortly? anyone have any dates?
I got a mysterious MMS mesg this morning from an iphone-having acquaintance. I rarely talk to this person, except thru FB. the mesg came in at 4-5 am, was not titled and had an attachment. Not thinking anything of it, I opened the attachment. Nothing happened, and the notification for the MMS, and the MMS itself disappeared. Vanished. no where.I messaged the friend about it and she said that she has no record of sending me a mesg at all. My battery seems to be draining really quickly. I had it on the charger all day at work, and went to lunch and noticed that I'm at 30% and dropping really quickly since being off the charger.does froyo have a security hole? is there a virus out there? anyone else experience something like this? should I start to be worried.
View 5 Replies View RelatedAround the end of December or the first of January I will be getting a new Smart-Phone. In the past I've had some Nokia's, Palm's and some Blackberry's. To date, my favorite has been the Blackberrys, but being up for trying anything new/better I've been checking out the Android market. I've noticed what would appear to be some very nice phones that have the potential to meet my needs nicely. However, I've have also noticed one very odd situation in the Android market. The Android App Market appears to be very mysterious and secretive. All ads for Android devices tout the thousands of apps available, but no where are you able to see the full selection, unless you own an Android Device.
I find this very odd indeed. Places like Handango, Crackberry and others allow you to check out apps for just about any device. Additionally they have user reviews that give you some idea as to the quality of the app as well as it's price, if any. Such information provides a potential customer the ability to confirm that a particular device will meet his/her needs prior to making the investment. I would have thought that Google would be happy to provide a similar environment for potential Android buyers, but such is not the case. Kinda makes one wonder just how many apps there really are and how good they are.
Imagine, if you would, going into a diner and ordering a meal. You have no idea what's on the menu, how much it will cost or what the service will be like, but once you enter you will be obligated to pay for it. How long do you think that diner would stay in business? I haven't made up my mind yet, but in as much as I'm not very big on taking unnecessary risks and I'm not a very trusting person, it doesn't look good for Android. Can anyone explain why there's so much secrecy behind the app market and why they don't want potential buyers to see what's there before they make a decision to buy an Android phone?
I would like to try cyanogen's latest build (although still not sure which one that is) but after trying to google everything I need answers to I am just getting more confused so I thought someone here could help.
I only have used sprecovery so this whole clockwork recovery is confusing. Says I need it but if I don't like cyanogens how hard is it to revert back to my adamz smoked glass that i have now with sprecovery? Don't even want to try and tackle the titanium backup thing.
Does Cyanogens come with busybox? Will I still have wifi tether and a kernel that supports it? What is this thing about having to install google apps in some special way as i read they are left out?
What I am looking for is all the cyanogen goodness (the ability to flip the phone and have screen rotate 180 degrees)with a smoked glass theme, stock theme or green theme, wifi tether(a must), moving wallpaper,overclocking and the ability to load my custom boot animations.
I like my Adamz smoked glass rom a lot but want to be able to rotate the phone and have the screen change. I have everything listed above except phone rotation now.
I have not had a single problem running Adamz rom or any issues with sprecovery. I can use these with ease so I am hoping someone can point me to an easy guide to make the change and answer a few of these questions.

I'm running mmuzzy's rom which is pretty vanilla. I'm CONSTANTLY struggle with getting a low memory error and was wondering if there's something screwing me over.
