I m little confuse. i have a wallpaper folder on the sd card with files to use as wallpaper. i would resize using the yellow crop & save. why does it save another copy? why does it not just use the original file? so now the wallpaper folder has two copies of the same file.

I am using Androlib app (I think that is the name) to download wallpaper, but when I go to settings and try to change the wallpaper it isn't in the wallpaper gallery. How do I get to select different wallpapers I download?
View 3 Replies View RelatedAfter a hard reset on my first Hero, the factory/system wallpaper files disappeared. Thereafter, I was unable to set the background for the lock screen to anything but the default. When I go to set lock screen background, the device reports "no media found".
Now that I have another Hero, I would like to backup those 22 factory background/wallpaper files.
1) Is that possible? If so, how? Does it require me to root the device so I can actually "copy out" the files?
2) Does there exist a backup software that can do a full system file backup? If so, please recommend one.
3) I have seen several file manager-like applications. Do any of these applications browse system files and allow one to copy them? (Is rooting reqired)?
4) Does anyone have copies of the system/default wallpapers? If so, will you please zip them up and post it here?
5) WHY did the pictures disappear after a hard reset? If they are part of the ROM, why did they not return after a reset?

View 3 Replies View RelatedIm looking for sumthin that would when taking a picture, save a copy of it in the normal DCIM folder, BUT also save a copy in another subdirectory... so essentially ill have 2 of them. the current camera i take a picture, then have to go through my sd card with ES file explorer and copy/paste into the backup directory. ive heard good things about "my backup pro"... but what can i do wit hthis. if i used that app would it .zip folder all my media so i could essentially just take the zip off and put it onto the media hard drive in house.

I'm upgrading from my Droid 1 to the Droid X tomorrow and would like to start my use of the DX with it's new 32gb card in place of my old 16gb card from my Droid 1 but need to know if there's anything required to copy from my droid 1 16gb card to my new DX 32 gb card that would be required or helpful in the DX use.I will obviously transfer music/vids/pics but are there any essential files, apps, etc. that are needed.Or is it a good idea to use my paid MyBackupPro to copy the old Droid 1 apps/data for use in the DX larger memory card or is this not copatible to perform between the 2 devices?

When I connect my DX to a computer with the USB cable, I usually use "PC Mode" or "Windows Media Sync" instead of "USB Mass Storage". Because (a) then I can still access the SD card on the phone, and (b) I don't need to remember to unmount the SD card from the PC before disconnecting the cable.
The strange thing is that on my work computer, I can copy files from the phone to the computer no problem. But on my home computer, when I try to copy a file, nothing happens. (I have Windows XP on both computers). I see the SD card directory tree in Explorer on the PC. I drag a file from one of the SC card folders into a folder on my PC. But then nothing happens.
If I use "USB Mass Storage", then it works well okay.
I forgot my password to this very site, so I reset it from my droid. A couple of seconds later I receive an email with my temporary password, I try to copy it to paste it into the login window in the browser and I find myself at a loss on how to copy text from an email. I google around and find this: How do you copy/paste text from the Gmail app? - Android Community Forums. It says it is not possible? (The provided workaround does not work). This is a major bummer, I've been doing this on my old BlackBerry for years.

When I keep installing new themes, and flashing back to .sbf, the most annoying part is signing back in to my phone to have to download the bootstrap then wipe my phone again.
