Any idea how to add it back? I'm not taking about IME. All the foreign text shows up a blocks.
Not looking forward to going back to 2.1 and then 2.2 just for language support.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI rooted my phone for the first time tonight straight from the 2.2 leak to root. I downloaded all the appropriate backup apps and ROM Manager. I used ROM manager to download FlyX 0.1 Final, and selected make a backup of existing ROM and clear data/cache when the download completed. After hitting okay, the phone does not reboot into any special mode, it just simply does a normal reboot. All my settings are still fine, and the root's intact; I just don't have FlyX.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have two text file, both of them contains Chinese characters, one text file is saved using ANSI encoding, but this file's Chinese characters can not be displayed by htmlviewer on the phone. The Chinese characters in another txt file saved using unicode can be displayed ok by htmlviewer. Do you have any suggestions on this, does Chinese characters using ANSI encoding supported?
View 3 Replies View RelatedSo I just flashed the FlyX ROM and when I reboot my phone it goes into Clockwork Recovery which is fine...I select reboot phone and then after about 45 seconds of everything booting and setting up it freezes...can't do anything but a battery pull. Should I select backup and restore in CWRecovery and do the restore? Will that save my ass or am I going to have to SBF it...I really DON'T want to SBF it but if I have to I guess I will have to set it all up...

View 9 Replies View RelatedI rooted my stock 2.2 DX. After installing Rom manager and downloading and flashing FlyX, every time I get a text, it comes through 4 times. 2 through the stock message program, and 2 through the messaging program that got installed during the flash. Can any one help?

Lets get this thing approved by casting your vote on the feedback forum. Click this and cast your vote! Even if you don't use locale or are in a 4G city. (I am , Lubbock Tx)
If you just have a look into the new locales that are added to the new SDK 1.6, you will notice that among these locales is Arabic

But unfortunately, when I tried to run the emulator,I didn't find any locale supported Arabic.
I created a set of text resources in different languages:
res/values-de/strings.xml
res/values-fr/strings.xml
res/values-ja/strings.xml
when a user runs our application, the Android system selects which resources to load, based on the device's locale.
So basically I want to add language option in my application and save user language preference, then load text resources based on user preference.
Is there any way to do this?

I have 4 things set up in locale
1) turn on silent when at work
2) turn on Wi-fi when at home
3) turn on silent 6:30PM to 7:30PM (when getting my son to bed)
4) turn on silent 11PM to 8AM (so no emails are waking me!) number 2 works fine, the problem however is with the silent ones, ALL of them never go back to the default (ringer at full volume) when the time is up or when I'm away from the location. any ideas? I don't have GPS on, but the distance from home to work is large so it can't think I'm still anywhere near there plus that won't affect the time related ones.
Is there any way in Locale to turn off the notification LED? I can't stand the blinking pink notification LED telling me I have email at 3 in the morning. I just don't see an option in Locale to turn this off.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI was using Locale for the past few days and it was working fine. I added defaults to it so I can have the ringer at high volume when I'm not at work. Well, once I added the defaults, it no longer uses my "Work" profile. I know it's not a GPS issue, because I have it set based on time. I've checked and double checked the settings, and I cannot figure out why it is keeping me in default mode while I'm right in the middle of my work schedule. Anybody else have this problem?

As I had to replace the phone (bad headphone jack) i seem to have lost all the old downloads i had previously. None of them auto restored.
So, for a lark, I downloaded the Google Pinyin IME, which allows me to enter Chinese characters on my Droid X. It works handily. But when I put the characters in an SMS using hand-cent, it never arrives at its destination. It's not that it arrives as gibberish, it just doesn't arrive. My friend, in a trouble shooting attempt, installed it on his Droid Incredible, also using hand-cent. I receive his SMS's with the Chinese characters in them perfectly fine, but he never receives mine. When I use my goggle voice account to send myself an SMS with Chinese characters in it, it arrives as little squares. Is this a Verizon problem, a hand cent problem, or something else entirely.
View 3 Replies View RelatedThis is my first android device and i'm loving it... but one thing that irks me is the use, or lack thereof, of the back button.
As I am navigating menus and options in the Settings, I cannot simply go back one menu using the back key. For example, if I go to Settings->Battery Manager->Battery Profile Options and want to go back to the Settings screen, I cannot.
Pushing the back button does nothing and I can only go back to the Settings menu by going Home, then re-entering.
Another quirk regarding the back button is when reading emails. Using a regular email account such as Hotmail, I cannot simply read an email and go back to the inbox using the button.
It makes navigating the phone very tedious.

I downloaded bootstrap and the first thing i did was create a nandroid back up for my x. then i proceeded to try and install tranquility rom. it got stuck in a bootloop. so when i rebooted into recovery it now goes for some reason to the droid stock recovery and i can't revert back to my back up. what do i do?!
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm finding that I'm using the back button A LOT whether browsing the web or just navigating the OS. It kind of sucks because the buttons on the droid x are well, really small, and sometimes hard to press because they are so narrow and flimsy feeling. And depending on how you are holding the phone, it could be a good bit of distance for your thumb to travel or I'm finding myself having to reposition the phone in my hands just to reach the back button, which you seem to need very frequently.
Anyone know of any kind of back 'swipe' implementation ? Like some software you can install that makes it if you swipe left to right on maybe the top bar it goes back?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI do a lot of MMS where animated gifs and 3g2 files are quite common. After searching I found some old threads indicating android doesn't support anim. gif (back then), but found nothing on 3g2.
Is this still the case for gifs and what about 3g2? Different messaging app or browser perhaps? My bud's Hero plays anim. gifs fine and it runs android...
Im currently running FRG22D newest version OTA update and i am rooted using SPrecovery... last question i have is i know alot of developers use 2.1 as a base pattern for their ROM's... am i still able to use ANY ROM i want or am i limited to only using ones that are formatted in the FRG22 series??
