Feb 27, 2010I noticed that when I take a picture that the photo does not show up in the Gallery until I restart my phone? Also when I select to edit a contacts photo to select a photo to put in it the gallery comes up empty with no photos in it. I close it and open again and they all appear. I have had this issue with the original microSD card and a new 16GB card. Is this a common problem or is this just my phone?

May 25, 2010So I have the nexus 3D gallery app installed on my 2.1 Eris. It works fine other than it refuses to generate thumbnails sometimes. They just show up as grey boxes. Once it finally does generate the thumbnails, it's fine, but sometimes they just won't generate. For example, I took some pics this past Sunday and the thumbnails are still just showing up as grey boxes. It takes several cycles of closing gallery, opening gallery, closing, opening, etc. etc. to get it to finally generate all the thumbnails, then they're fine. Oh, and sometimes they don't show up at all. Seems this app is very buggy on the Eris.

Jan 22, 2010I am just curious if we know this or not. I would like an invite, but it seems like the invites are inconsistent in terms of the turnaround time from the initial request. I have read recently how some have gotten an invite the next day and other have waited two weeks or longer. That said, could the N1 be delaying the invites? The Google Voice YouTube channel promotes the fact that the N1 comes with GV pre-installed. Does anyone know if this also includes an invite? I am will to be patient for a little while on GV, but if I have to wait too long, I may just have to go with YouMail.

Aug 20, 2010I've got the Nexus One and the gallery app on it is awful. You can't move your photos between albums or rename them unless you go into the SD card and do it and even then you have to turn the phone off and on again before the changes show in the gallery.Does anyone else have this problem and how do you put up with it? Is there an app (ideally free) that lets you view your photos, rename them and move them around albums etc? Its a basic thing that all the older phones can do so why is a supposed smart phone so rubbish at it!

Rant: The Gmail app on the phone won't even save a photo to the Gallery! I just switched from iOS and this seems like a huge flaw in the OS and app integration, like with Google Voice and using Facebook Connect to log into apps. This is a huge reason why iOS gets so many more app downloads IMO. Registration sucks. Facebook Connect fixes it. Integrate it into the OS and it becomes a fly-through experience. I still have about 5x more apps installed on my iPhone than on my Nexus, partly because of this.

General :: Bittorrent Sync Photos Not In Nexus 10 Gallery
Aug 23, 2013I just setup Bittorrent Sync on my Motorola Razr M and Nexus 10 so that all photos taken on my phone can be viewed on both devices. The sync has worked as far as I can tell (if I go into BT sync on the tablet i can view all the files downloaded to the device and view them by clicking on them individually). The only problem is that if I go into my Gallery on my tablet it has not automatically detected the photos, even though when I click on them via BT Sync the are displayed using the gallery app.
How I can make my Gallery automatically show them in my albums? It seems to show other random photos (ie. album covers from music folders I have transferred over) but no the ones I want. I was under the impression that the Gallery app did automatically index all the photo files on the device.

Apr 22, 2010Ok so i just rooted my eris, and got it to the eris21official-root, there are a few things that i really want and i was wondering if i have to do an add or what to make these work from here.
-Live wallpapers
-Nexus launcher
-a better looking photo gallery viewer, im stuck at the stock crap one
-a better music player same reason as above
-and last is a better lock screen, i really liked the one that had the slient button and the lock on the same dial and it was just which way you spun it

Jun 10, 2010Well the issues with the stock launcher have been fixed from the early days of 2.0.1 and everyone can have up to 7 screens without root.Now that 2.2 is out and the launchers work fantastic on it, i think app developers should start working on a new Gallery for the droid.. I cant stand the stock gallery, its glitchy, laggy, messes up all the time and doesnt show all my photos. Its a worthless piece of trash IMO. I cant even show friends my photos i took on my DSLR on the phone because it will never load them.

But i don't like my downloaded pictures showing up in the gallery so i made a hidden folder within download/ called .pics/. after i download pictures i always use a file manager to move them to the hidden folder. but when i check the gallery, it sill shows shows them as being in the download/ folder. the only way Ive been able to refresh the gallery, to hide the hidden images, is to reboot the fone.

Within that folder I have created sub folders:
Family
Friends
Picture ID
Wallpaper... with a total 115 pictures
Well I noticed that in a folder called DCIM, there is a folder called .thumbnails, which seems to be copying the pictures(some 42 pics) from the Picture folder.
My main issue is that when I tap on Gallery it opens a black screen with folders that remain blank and nothing...
I am forced to power down because after 5 minutes the Droid is so sluggish its not usable.
Should I be deleting the folders that I created? If so where do I put my pictures?

I believe since it runs off the sdcard it loads gallery pictures faster, or at least appears to do so on my end. Runs perfect on my Droid X so I thought i'd post it here.
