View 22 RepliesWell the issues with the stock launcher have been fixed from the early days of 2.0.1 and everyone can have up to 7 screens without root. Now that 2.2 is out and the launchers work fantastic on it, i think app developers should start working on a new Gallery for the droid.. I cant stand the stock gallery, its glitchy, laggy, messes up all the time and doesnt show all my photos. Its a worthless piece of trash IMO. I cant even show friends my photos i took on my DSLR on the phone because it will never load them.
View 26 Replies View RelatedI keep getting random pictures in the TMP folder in the gallery that I didnt download.
View 2 Replies View Relateddid a search and didnt find anything relating to my issue.I installed a program (photofun) and i regret it. i tried it out with one pic and when i went to the gallery to view it, it would just force close when i would scroll. So i uninstalled the program but when i enter the gallery, pick a folder, and try to scroll, then it will force close. cannot scroll at all bcuz it will force close.
View 9 Replies View RelatedIs there a quick way to refresh the gallery? I download pictures from the browser, so it automatically adds them to the gallery. But i don't like my downloaded pictures showing up in the gallery so i made a hidden folder within download/ called .pics/. after i download pictures i always use a file manager to move them to the hidden folder. but when i check the gallery, it sill shows shows them as being in the download/ folder. the only way Ive been able to refresh the gallery, to hide the hidden images, is to reboot the fone.
View 5 Replies View RelatedHas anyone been successful in removing album art from their photo gallery? Does anyone else have this issue?I tried adding a .nomedia text file in the albumthumbs folder but it didn't work.
View 7 Replies View RelatedHow Gallery works? I have on my card a folder that I created Pictures.
Within that folder I have created sub folders:
Family
Friends
Picture ID
Wallpaper... with a total 115 pictures
Well I noticed that in a folder called DCIM, there is a folder called .thumbnails, which seems to be copying the pictures(some 42 pics) from the Picture folder.
My main issue is that when I tap on Gallery it opens a black screen with folders that remain blank and nothing...
I am forced to power down because after 5 minutes the Droid is so sluggish its not usable.
Should I be deleting the folders that I created? If so where do I put my pictures?
enjoy it it's way faster then flan gallery... NO ROOTING REQUIRE.. flan (eclair) gallery 2.1 with multi-touch or pinch-to-zoom ported to droid | droid life: a motorola droid blog
View 1 Replies View RelatedSome guy over at XDA ported the froyo gallery app to 2.1 eclair, here is the thread
froyo 3d gallery ported for android 2.1 - xda-developers and the file can be downloaded here (copy and paste in browser window)
***IF YOU HAVE 3D GALLERY FROM MARKET ALREADY INSTALLED, UNINSTALL FIRST*** 10x9.com/xh. Installed straight from sdcard and it runs perfectly, and boy is that pinch preview feature fun. I believe since it runs off the sdcard it loads gallery pictures faster, or at least appears to do so on my end. Runs perfect on my Droid X so I thought i'd post it here.
After i take a photo i go to view the photo in the gallery and i can see the thumbnail, like the small preview but when i go to enlarge the photo to make it full screen, its just a black screen until i restart my phone than it works fine any ideas?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I open gallery I have folders like: Camera Pictures, Camera Videos, Camera Media, All Pictures, Downloads, and Pictures. I want 2 folders: one for pictures, and one for videos. any way to do this?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have never had any gallery problems that i can remember, but all of a sudden my images/folders arent showing in the gallery. I use a file explorer, and it shows that all my files are there, but for some reason nothing will show in the gallery. sometimes i can gt it to show a "camera" folder and like 3 "download" folders, and some weird folders with numbers and stuff, but they never show thumbnails and wont let you click them.
Gone are my picture folders, and also the galleries from picasa web. I have the droid, with the latest updates and everything. Never had this problem before. Was working the other day. Today i was tryin to send someone a picture, and noticed this.
Is there a way to get the nexus one photo gallery on the Droid X?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have photos still in my gallery that I have deleted already. When I try to delete them again the "delete" option is grayed out. When I do the "select all" option it says that it is deleting them but they are still there.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have done some searches and cannot come with the answer I need. All the photos I take are moved to the SD card and not available to the gallery. It seem they stay in the gallery for about a day and then they are moved. I cannot figure out how to bring them back to the gallery or to so that I can send them out or edit them with the phones photoshop. The photos taken with the camera are on the SD card in the DCIM file while the downloaded photos are in the download file but I am not finding any menue that allows me to retrieve them back to the gallery.
View 22 Replies View Relatedis there a way to make folders in the droid picture gallery?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a particular folder titled "vacation", where I have all my photos from each individual place I've been. I've also downloaded the application "File Cover" [but we'll get back to that later] So the "Vacation" folder has individual sub folders: NY, Miami, Beijing, Canada...etc. When I pull them up in gallery, all the photos show up together. I dont, however want my Beijing folder to show up because it has photos from inportant artifacts and whatnot I dont want everyone to see. I downloaded "File Cover" to hide and password protect them. But they still show up in the gallery in small thumbnails, even though they are locked.
View 15 Replies View RelatedI have 3 pictures in my gallery that were originally downloaded off my picasa acct. since then i have deleted them, or so i thought. the thumbnails of them are still showing in my gallery but when i select one, the pic enlarges for a split second then changes to what i guess is androids generic "pic not available" icon. why are they still showing as thumbnails and how can i delete them for good?
View 3 Replies View RelatedSYMPTOM:
When I open Gallery, it immediately closes (it never displays any photos or thumbnails).
CAUSE:
I added some .nomedia files to my SD card (to hide album art from showing up in Gallery), and that's when Gallery refused to open. It just immediately closes/disappears anytime I try and open Gallery.
SOLUTIONS ATTEMPTED:
I'm trying to avoid a factory reset if possible. Here's what I have tried so far:
Cleared data/cache for Gallery app (at Settings>applications>manage applications>menu button>filter>all>gallery>clear data and clear cache). Problem still persists. I tried to repeat this, and now the Clear Data and Clear Cache buttons are both grayed out even after I force close Gallery.
Removed the files under: SD CardAndroiddatacom.android.providers.mediaalbu mthumbs
Removed SD CardDCIM.thumbnails directory
Removed all photos from the gallery and see if it still crashes. I manually deleted the DCIM folder, and snapped a couple test photos to force the recreation of the DCIM folder. I can view Camera Roll from the camera app, but Gallery still refuses to open.
I have also booted to recovery mode and noticed the following error: "E: Can't open /cache/recovery/command" From recovery, I used the "Wipe cache partition" utility, rebooted, and Gallery still won't open.
What else can I try? I'm at a loss here. I see a file called "thumbnailScale.trace" but am afraid to delete that.
We ran into a issue with my wife's phone. When she launches gallery/photobucket, she cannot log in.
I downloaded and installed the photobucket mobile app, and she can log in fine with that.
Any idea why it will not login with the fefault app? Does it have any additional functionality then the photobucket mobile app available in the store?
The stock gallery app sucks. Is there an app out there that let's me organize pics in different folders, and ideally allows me to encrypt or lock certain gallerys? I definitely do not like the way each gallery displays a preview picture on its cover.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy SD card had corrupt data on it. I fixed the files with my PC, now when I go to my gallery it say loading new albums and when its finished just an empty gallery. However, when I go into astro in the dcim folder I can view my pictures just fine. I've reset my phone, unmounted and remounted the SD card and still nothing.
View 2 Replies View Related1: I have noticed that after a couple of days any photos/images I have, be it downloads from a website or photos i've taken with the phone itself disapear from the gallery, but if I hunt for them in the file folder structure they are still on the phone! Similary with...
2: Music, despite me manually dragging some albums over from my laptop, be it in its own folder for the album title or stuffed into one folder called Albums, the music app or Cubed cannot see them, and when I open Cubed it says there are no playlists and dies a death, doesn't give me the opportunity to search for songs on the phone and create one!
Are these issues that have been documented elsewhere? Anyone experience anything similar? Should I be placing my music in one specific folder? the photos should not be disapearing since the phone dictates where they are kept so this one is irritating me!
Is there a view or option I'm missing? The thumbnail would be great if I didn't have 20 videos with the FOX 21th century logo as the picture.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have the updated gallery now for my Droid and I see the new folders, but the folder which had all the pictures I took with my phone's camera is now gone. If I go into the camera, I can see the pictures that way, but there used to be a "Camera" folder in the Gallery.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo whenever i save a picture using the default browser... it will not show up in the gallery. How do you fix this? Extremeeeellyyy irritating. When i look at downloads on the browser it will show only the picture you clicked on as being in the gallery, but as soon as you open the regular gallery outside the browser download menu... it wont show up. Who would have thought it would be so hard to update a twitter pic on such a "smart"phone -__-
View 1 Replies View RelatedAnyone else have this problem? I take a photo and its not there and takes opening and closing the gallery a few times. Sometimes I have to take another photo and then they both show up. Is this a bug with 2.1 or is there a fix for this?
View 28 Replies View RelatedI just got my new Droid phone 2 days ago. Great phone! But I have many things to learn. I have a question about the saved pictures. Why is it that when I open my photo gallery there are more than just the "all photos" folder. Seems when I take a picture, or save one off the Internet or transfer the pics off my old phone, that it makes a new folder for each different set of pics and puts all the pics in the "all pictures"folder. Is there any way I can just have the "all pictures" folder as the only one?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI want to develop an android photo gallery application. In which user should allow to select multiple images from the gallery and then user have to click submit button. When the user clicks the submit button then the selected images should be copped to a different folder.
If any one knows this please help me how to do it. If possible please share the code. Or give some URL so that i can get some useful information.
Does anybody happen to have the official Google Gallery .apk running on the X? I really miss having my Picasa photos available on the phone like I did with the original Droid. I could have sworn that I had the file somewhere, but I can't find it.
