Is there a way to get the nexus one photo gallery on the Droid X?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am just curious if we know this or not. I would like an invite, but it seems like the invites are inconsistent in terms of the turnaround time from the initial request. I have read recently how some have gotten an invite the next day and other have waited two weeks or longer. That said, could the N1 be delaying the invites? The Google Voice YouTube channel promotes the fact that the N1 comes with GV pre-installed. Does anyone know if this also includes an invite? I am will to be patient for a little while on GV, but if I have to wait too long, I may just have to go with YouMail.

The specifics of the Nexus One Dev Phone compared to a regular N1 Phone.I'd like to buy a N1 Dev Phone for dev purposes but also for ordinary everyday usage. So are there any specifics in the Dev Version of N1 I should care about? Is there anything that would inhibit a regular day to day usage and what are the differences to the regular retail version of the Phone?

View 10 Replies View Relatedvia iSuppli ... iSuppli Does Droid Teardown, Finds $187.75 Bill of Materials and Manufacturing Cost - iSuppli
Ah, here we go again: another report from iSuppli breaking down the bill of materials (BOM) for one of our favorite smartphones. This time it's the Droid / Milestone under scrutiny, Motorola's beefcake slider that currently sells for $560 month-to-month on Verizon ($199 on contract). According to iSuppli's analysis, Droid brings a $187.75 bill of materials that breaks down into $179.11 worth of components and $8.64 in manufacturing costs. Naturally, the BOM does not include licensing fees, software costs, accessories, or the massive outlay this device has received in advertising support. Nevertheless, it makes for interesting apples-to-apples fodder when comparing costs with the Nexus One ($174.15 in materials only), iPhone 3GS ($178.96 materials and manufacturing), and original Palm Pre ($138 materials and manufacturing). The single most expensive component on the Droid is the 16GB removable microSD card ($35) bundled with the Droid. And after a controversial MOTO report that demonstrated a lackluster capacitive touchscreen on the Droid, it's interesting to compare the Droid's 3.7-inch TFT LCD ($17.75) and capacitive touchscreen overlay ($17.50) with that of the iPhone 3GS ($19.25 spent on a smaller 3.5-inch LCD and cheaper $16 touchscreen overlay) and Nexus One (whopping $23.50 for 3.7-inch AM-OLED display and $17.50 for the touchscreen assembly). Rounding out the top-end costs are the Droid's 5 megapixel autofocus CMOS sensor ($14.25), Qualcomm baseband processor / RF chip ($14.04), and TI application processor ($12.90).
i have root and running ww and want the live wallpapers that the n1 has. all the live wallpapers on the market i have seen were not very good and all cost at least $1 for just one.
View 12 Replies View RelatedSo I know it's possible to install the 2.1 genie weather app and the Nexus gallery app on Eris 2.1. But is it possible to install the Nexus launcher on Eris 2.1? I'm not talking about some janky imitation that sort of looks like it, I mean the real thing. I'm talking about this:

I've looked at the tech specs of the Nexus One at the google store -Nexus One Phone - Feature overview & Technical specifications
I'm not that geeked up so, I'm wondering if it looks like the Nexus has anything on the Droid?
The 4 gb micro sd seemed pretty underwhelming to me. I know it's expandable to 32 but still...
I was able to get the animated live wallpapers working on the 2.1 ROM (only Nexus does not work). Disclaimer: This can brick your phone and should only be done if you know what you are doing and are willing to take the risk, I bear no responsibility for your actions. Directions.
1. Download this zip file, it contains the necessary lib files and the live wallpaper files. wallpaper files - MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service lib files - MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service
2. Unzip these files and place on your SDCARD. (I created 2 folders one named libs and the other app). You need to place the four Live wallpaper files in the app folder and the lib files need to be in the lib folder.
3. Restart your phone in the recover console.
4. Select mount sub-menu
5. mount sdcard and system
6. type busybox cp /sdcard/libs/* /system/lib
7. type busybox cp /sdcard/app/* /system/app
8. unmount both sdcard and system
9. restart your phone
I doubt anyone is as excited about this as I am but with the 2.1 update, the Moto Droid has received the Nexus One News and weather app. I have been searching for something like this for along time and there were a few out there but nothing like the one that 2.1 has just given us. I know I sound like a loon but news and weather is part of my daily morning ritual and this just made it better!

Nexus One and Motorola Droid to Get Android 2.2 Froyo
I really dont think so at all. I looked at some vids in you and that nexus is FAST!! I have my droid clocked at 550 firm all the time (its rooted) and it does not come close to how the nexus moves around and opens things up.I also know that one cannot compare speeds by simply opening things up. If that were true my wifes cliq is faster many times opening things up. But when you do things that need a strong proccesor theres where you will see the difference. For example, before I rooted the droid i could NOT stream tv shows (jetflicks) using wifi and a bluetooth stereo headset. the show would pause every 2-3 minutes, very annoying, and the voice would be of sync as well.
When I rooted the phone and installed an app that keeps the droid at 550 it worked PERFECTLY. No problems with sync or the show stopping every few minutes. SO, Im thinking that there cannot be no way in android world that the droid can perform at the same speed of the nexus when using apps that NEED a good fast proccesor.
I was wondering if there is available simply the nexus one stock theme that is available for the droid. I'm uses Pete's BB 1.0 also. I simply want the theme, not to change the Rom or anything.
View 5 Replies View RelatedGood review of the Nexus One from Engadget. My favorite line (I've been saying this for a while) following:
"It's a good Android phone, but not the last word -- in fact, if we had to choose between this phone or the Droid right now, we would lean towards the latter."
Full review here: Nexus One review -- Engadget
They compare it to the Droid a few times, specifically the screen, the lack of a physical keyboard, overall design and the network.
If the droid can be overclocked to 1.2 or 1.3 wonder how fast the nexus can be overclocked up to 2.0 lol cant wait til one of the snapdragon phones comes to verizon.

They are at the final battle. It looks like we might have a fight on our hands since the Palm Pre just got the free hot-spot options from Verizon. March Smart Phone Madness Finals: Motorola Droid vs. Palm Pre Plus
The main points that I like to enjoy is: Droid beat out the phone that beat the iPhone, and the Droid got further in the brackets than any other Android OS phone Some of the progress is due to hardware, some due to following (over the Nexus'), but a lot due to the v2.01 (and now 2.1) version of the Android OS. Also, this poll is open ALL weekend - it does not close until April 5th, so we have tons of time...but then again, so does the Palm Pre. Let's have at 'em!
The photo actually comes up in the email application, but are you seriously telling me that we can't save photos from emails unless they are attachments? Wow. The attachment downloads and comes up blank. It comes up blank every time. I tested it with my iPhone and each and every single one of those options work. I'm just trying to use the photo (in which I paid for an application to do so) for fucking artwork since the ******ed sync via Android is nothing compared to iTunes.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am very new to Nexus One. Just got it recently. While charging it gets really hot. Is it OK? or is there some problem with my phone?
View 3 Replies View RelatedNoticed this happen about 2-3 times since I got the phone on launch day... In fact, it just happened again. Was wondering if anyone else had this problem.I've noticed sometimes when I leave my phone alone (standby, screen turned off, etc) and try to wake my phone, the phone does not power back on at all. And yes, battery still has a good amount of charge left.I can press the power/wake button but no response. No unlock screen, nothing. I hold the power/wake button and it does not boot either. Only a battery pull will allow the phone to boot go back to normal again.Anyone have this problem before?
