Motorola Droid X : Is There A "deleted" Folder In Handcent SMSA?
Aug 21, 2010Phone was lagging and i accidental deleted an entire thread no way to get that back.

Phone was lagging and i accidental deleted an entire thread no way to get that back.
when the stock Messaging app wasn't cutting it, I installed Handcent. But it started flaking out on me, so I dumped it and went to the more-reliable chompSMS.I liked it a lot.But to be completely honest, I missed some of the features of Handcent. But reliability is Job 1, so I kept chompSMS for a few weeks. Then I heard that Handcent received a major update a few days ago, so I replaced chompSMS with Handcent. So far so good. I got all the features back, and I haven't had one single issue in days of texting. So if you're like me and you left Handcent for chompSMS, you may want to give the new version a spin.
View 49 Replies View RelatedUsing Handcent for texts, but went into the Messages app and saw a bunch of "ghost" messages with a date of 12/31/69 (tap on the messages and they don't load). It turns out that when I receive a text it displays the correct date and time in both Handcent and Messages, but when I delete in in Handcent it goes into this "ghost" state in Messages. Has anybody else run into this?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI own a rooted THL w8s. Today, I accidentally deleted a folder from the root menu.
The story is this one; I was trying to install an app but it would fail installation. So I read in here that if i moved the apk file in the root browser/data/app it would then get installed.
So I copied the file, went to the app folder but I couldn't find how to paste it. So I exited the app folder, long pressed it and a menu popped up that had the choice move. Unfortunately, what was moved was the app folder from the root menu and now no app is working! Worse than that, is that Google Play isn't available any more!
I cant seem to be able to add more then a gig or two of music before it all gets deleted into the LOST.DIR folder on my sd card when I try to add new music.Any idea?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI searched but couldn't find this problem. I use the Google Sync software on my PC to sync Outlook 2003 to my Google Account. I use the 2 way sync option.
When I create an appt. on my Inc. it shows up in my Gmail calendar fine but when the gmail calendar syncs to outlook that appt does not show up in the outlook calendar but goes directly to my "deleted items" folder and shows an appt date of 12/31/1997 no matter what date it is scheduled for.
Appts made from outlook synced to Google work fine and vise versa. Only appts made on my phone have this issue. I hope this makes sense and any help would be appreciated since I love the fact I never have to connect my phone to my PC.
i have Crony cn98 MID tablet (Chinese)
i deleted file bin from system folder by wrong
when i power up the tablet, restarting itself
what should i do to fix that problem
i have 2 tablets of this type
it means i can bring file bin
but how to put bin folder in the tablet?
I recently copied all the files on the sd card that came with my moment and put them on an 8gig card. Also created a music folder and stuffed it full of my favorite tunes. Now when I get a text in Handcent it plays 2pac (the first song in the folder) The whole song~! I also downloaded mixzing to listen to my music. After this happened I uninstalled mixzing but that didnt help. I can change the notification sound in handcent but that dont work. Any idea why handcent is firing up my music player or folder? Im back to using the stock player but it still happens.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI went to try and open a message but the app kept bringing up an error and I'd have to force close it. The screen would then switch to my home screen but with no shortcuts just a background then after a second go black until I hit the home button. I restarted the phone and when I opened messaging ALL my conversations were gone. Is this a known glitch? is there a way to get all my texts back?

View 4 Replies View RelatedWell a new version of my favorite ROM came out and I installed it. Sadly the designer deleted my wallpaper in the last update and in this one he deleted my ring tone and notification tones. How can I back up these choices and add them to the newest version of the ROM? The new version is much quicker and I want to use it but only with those tones.
View 6 Replies View RelatedMy droid deletes all my text messages randomly. I've had it for 2 1/2+ months and it has done it twice, leading me to believe that it happens every month, regularly, because it always happens at the beginning of the month. The last time it happened, I brought it to the Verizon store but all they do is blame the consumer for any faults with software because Android is open source. Is there a way to get my texts back and how can I solve this problem? Is there an app that deletes text messages every month or so because of a hidden setting? Is there a solution to this problem without reformatting (I have my contacts, calendar, and a bunch of other stuff on my phone and also apps and I don't wanna delete anything).
View 49 Replies View RelatedIt seems that I have deleted Need for Speed from my Droid X. Is there any way for me to get it back?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI was looking through the files via ASTRO and also Files last night. I noticed several cases where folders, which I removed the app, were still in the directory. Also, the Zedge folder was full of images from browsing I presume.
I've cleared the cache via the browser and a lot of stuff was not removed. I thought I deleted an app and traces still remain.
How can I best clean things up?
So my droid just deleted about 1,000 or so text and picture messages among 5 or 6 different threads. I don't know what I could have done to cause this, as I've had "never delete messages" selected since day one.
I've seen a few more instances of this happening on other forums, but no mention of it here. Has anybody else run into this bug? It's infuriating.
So like everyone else I was getting really annoyed about the time stamp issue with handcent under 2.2. I looked at the release notes for handcent and saw that version 3.27 added some sort of timestamp fix for the Droid X. Apparently this actually causes problems with the DroidX 2.2 official release. I got an older copy of handcent (version 3.26) and now everything appears with the correct time stamps. I got the apk from here: Download Handcent SMS for Android at Freeware Lovers. You will also need to use the app SMS Time Fix from the market to address the problem with the delay that causes messages to be out of order. So I guess one less thing broken, now if only they can fix the double lock.
