I just transferred my phone and there were issues, so a verizon tech had to do it remotely. I saw a screen startup right away to setup various accounts. How do I get to that screen, so I can set up facebook, etc?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have 2 gmail accounts. Unfortunately, one of them is for my calendar and contacts and the other is for my personal e-mail. As of now, my cal and contacts are syncing fine but I do not use the e-mail account that is associated with thier username. I have my other account (personal e-mail) set up sepeartely....along with a few other e-mail accounts(work and etc.). I would like to know if i can leave my cal and contacts setup on the regular droid sync account but change the e-mail account to my personal acct. so it will "push" by default with out having it in a seperate palce on the droid. I know this is confusing but i dont know how else to explian it.

I am coming from a BB Storm where my Road Runner (internet provider) email account worked flawlessly on the Storm. Back in the day when i had a Treo there was big work around you had to use in order to get email accounts like this to work on it.Is this the case with a Droid as well, or is it as simple as the BB storm where i just enter in my email and password in setup and it is done? The sales rep on the phone told me i would be able to get my RR emails on the droid but we all know how sales reps can be.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI can access my AOL, Comcast and obviously Gmail with no problems on my Droid. However I want to be able to access my companies email I have set up through powweb.com (they host my website). Anyway I keep getting error messages that it could not finish set up or sometimes it says Error: check user and password details. I triple checked and made sure I was putting in the right info and then I even went on the powweb website and made sure I was putting in the correct settings and even contacted someone there and they gave me some info to try and help and I am still getting error messages. I have tried POP and IMAP. The exchange account, is a fee based account.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy company's exchange server is similar to mail.company.com/exchange, but when I put in that address, it removes the "/exchange" and it gives me an error saying "Unable to open connection to server". Is there a way around this, or am I stuck without the ability to sync my work email?

Until I activate the Advanced Task Killer and shut them all down, the thing runs like a hog. I have quite a few programs installed, but I dont use them all all of the time. Why do they all start up and is there any way beside the ATK to stop them? Is there any way to modify the startup files?

I click on "e-mail", I type in my e-mail address and my password, and then I click "next". And then I get a message that says my username and/or password does not match. But I am positive it does, as I have gone online to test it. I have tried retyping my username and passwrod over and over again without any success. I can't get passed that screen.
I have Verizon FiOS at my house, so my e-mail is set-up through Verizon/Yahoo.
I have an android app and I want to set an icon. I have set the icon using androidmanifest.xml and that shows the icon inside the app list. However, I want the icon to be displayed while the application is running, also. Any help/hints?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI was able to successfully setup a POP account through the Setup Screen...in fact when I go back through Setup, I still see the account. The problem is I can't DO anything with it in setup (including deleting it to start over) and it doesn't show up in my Apps window with an icon! I see it on the setup screen labeled "Setup Accounts" but no matter if I tap it or hold it or swipe it or try to hit the menu key, it just sits there. There is a green button with the checkmark in it. I guess what I would think i ought to be able to do is to assign it an icon (or even get a generic one) and find the account listed on my app screen...I'm willing to reset it, but I can't even delete it to start!

Go to the GMail app, select add account, fill in the metrics and then...... "Needs to communicate" message for ~ 3 minutes, then bombs out with - "Can't establish a reliable data connection to the server". 3G is fine, on a wifi connection that is fine, web browser works fine..... Google Apps account works fine.

I thought I'd pass this new data to the activity as a message to the activity's handler. Now, my question is: how can I make sure that the activity has finished drawing the page and is ready to show the message data? The data might come from the cache, so I'm worried the message may land in the handler before the page is ready to display it. Is there a way to synchronize the page draw and the message handling? E.g., is it possible to suspend the looper till the page is ready? What's the preferred way of doing what I'm trying to do?
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I set up my Droid X, it used my default gmail address for Gtalk. As far as I can tell, there is absolutely no way to change your gtalk account to another account. My problem is, I want my girlfriend to be able to send me chat messages at any time of day through gtalk (she has a blackberry), but I don't want to have to set up my account as "always available," because I don't want people on gmail to send me chat messages and then think I'm at my computer and ignoring them when I don't respond. Before I got my Android phone, I was invisible 100% of the time. I can't set my account to invisible on my phone though because gtalk thinks I'm offline and forwards it to my email. I saw that there is some kind of mobile indicator that I turned on in options, but I have never seen it actually work. When I view my gtalk account from another account it just shows me as a available and doesn't indicate I'm on mobile. I thought I could get around this by setting up a separate gmail account ONLY to use for gtalk with my girlfriend. That way I could set it to Always On however gtalk will not let me add it. So how can I possibly set up gtalk so my girlfriend can chat with me at any time of day, yet I can keep my status as invisible so none of my gmail friends can?

View 26 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to purchase an app, but everytime I enter in my Google Apps premier account info, it just takes me back to the Account Sync page. The app never gets purchased. Is there a way I can fix this issue? I have purchased numerous things using my Google Apps account and all the information is current.
I did a number of searches regarding this issue, but either the question goes unanswered or the response is "just create another Google account to buy the app". I would rather not have to create another account just for this. If anyone knows how to correct this, please let me know.
possible to prevent processes from starting on reboot/boot for Droid 2.1?
there's a few processes that are always running, that turn themselves on, which i infrequently use. a couple examples are Voice Search and Skype, which when I ended processes for, freed up a significant amount of memory and 4 processes. I'd like to be able to set them up something akin to what windows will do, where they are on manual startup, and only start when app is called on. I still want to use the apps, just don't want background processes running constantly.
I tried to flash the Fission 2.0.2 rom earlier today. I am running the OTA Froyo update (can't remember the exact firmware off the top of my head) with the 928 Droid X Black Glass theme, so I was deodexed. I followed the instructions, I made a nandroid backup, wiped the cache and data, mounted the cache and data, installed the ROM and tried to reboot, and it poped up to the M.
I waited an hour and a half and it was still stuck like that. I pulled the battery hoping to get back into Clockwork recovery, but not it's still stuck on the M.
I am using T-mobile Samsung Vibrant (SGH-T959) aka Galaxy S unlocked version in India with Airtel. Somehow I am able to set the GPRS using APN settings; however I am not able to setup my google account. Similarly whenever I am aaccessing Android Market its asking for Google Account and failing as well...
View 2 Replies View RelatedEverything seems to be working fine except - no Picasa. I set up the phone with my Google account and calendar, mail, contacts are all synced fine. However, no Picasa albums in Photos section. Went to Account setup, clicked on Google account, no Picasa there either. On my wife's Droid (OS v2.1 also) Picasa is listed under Google account options. Is this an Incredible bug or am I missing something?
