I have a paid Windows Live account through school with an address ending in '.edu' I am struggling to find a way to set it up in the email function (obviously not the gmail function) on the phone. I really would not like to have to take the detour of forwarding my school email to my gmail account.

I have 2 gmail accounts. Unfortunately, one of them is for my calendar and contacts and the other is for my personal e-mail. As of now, my cal and contacts are syncing fine but I do not use the e-mail account that is associated with thier username. I have my other account (personal e-mail) set up sepeartely....along with a few other e-mail accounts(work and etc.). I would like to know if i can leave my cal and contacts setup on the regular droid sync account but change the e-mail account to my personal acct. so it will "push" by default with out having it in a seperate palce on the droid. I know this is confusing but i dont know how else to explian it.

I am coming from a BB Storm where my Road Runner (internet provider) email account worked flawlessly on the Storm. Back in the day when i had a Treo there was big work around you had to use in order to get email accounts like this to work on it.Is this the case with a Droid as well, or is it as simple as the BB storm where i just enter in my email and password in setup and it is done? The sales rep on the phone told me i would be able to get my RR emails on the droid but we all know how sales reps can be.

However I want to be able to access my companies email I have set up through powweb.com (they host my website). Anyway I keep getting error messages that it could not finish set up or sometimes it says Error: check user and password details. I triple checked and made sure I was putting in the right info and then I even went on the powweb website and made sure I was putting in the correct settings and even contacted someone there and they gave me some info to try and help and I am still getting error messages. I have tried POP and IMAP. The exchange account, is a fee based account.

Is there a way around this, or am I stuck without the ability to sync my work email?

I click on "e-mail", I type in my e-mail address and my password, and then I click "next". And then I get a message that says my username and/or password does not match. But I am positive it does, as I have gone online to test it. I have tried retyping my username and passwrod over and over again without any success. I can't get passed that screen.
I have Verizon FiOS at my house, so my e-mail is set-up through Verizon/Yahoo.
I built my first Android app. It is a Live Wallpaper designed for 2.2. When I press and hold the screen, select Wallpapers and then select Live Wallpapers, my live wallpaper has what looks like a default icon with the name of my live wallpaper overlaid. How do I set this icon?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI was able to successfully setup a POP account through the Setup Screen...in fact when I go back through Setup, I still see the account. The problem is I can't DO anything with it in setup (including deleting it to start over) and it doesn't show up in my Apps window with an icon! I see it on the setup screen labeled "Setup Accounts" but no matter if I tap it or hold it or swipe it or try to hit the menu key, it just sits there. There is a green button with the checkmark in it. I guess what I would think i ought to be able to do is to assign it an icon (or even get a generic one) and find the account listed on my app screen...I'm willing to reset it, but I can't even delete it to start!

Go to the GMail app, select add account, fill in the metrics and then...... "Needs to communicate" message for ~ 3 minutes, then bombs out with - "Can't establish a reliable data connection to the server". 3G is fine, on a wifi connection that is fine, web browser works fine..... Google Apps account works fine.

I just wrote my first live wallpaper and am getting ready to publish it, but I've hit a snag on something seemingly simple. I can't get the description to work. I've tried: 1) Putting raw text and string ids as android:description in the metadata for the service in the manifest 2) Putting raw text and string ids as android:description in the service's resource xml file none of those work. I checked the 2 live cube wallpaper examples and neither of those set a description. How is the description (the text under the name of the app on the live wallpaper chooser screen) set for all of those defaults that ship on the nexus?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I set up my Droid X, it used my default gmail address for Gtalk. As far as I can tell, there is absolutely no way to change your gtalk account to another account. My problem is, I want my girlfriend to be able to send me chat messages at any time of day through gtalk (she has a blackberry), but I don't want to have to set up my account as "always available," because I don't want people on gmail to send me chat messages and then think I'm at my computer and ignoring them when I don't respond. Before I got my Android phone, I was invisible 100% of the time. I can't set my account to invisible on my phone though because gtalk thinks I'm offline and forwards it to my email. I saw that there is some kind of mobile indicator that I turned on in options, but I have never seen it actually work. When I view my gtalk account from another account it just shows me as a available and doesn't indicate I'm on mobile. I thought I could get around this by setting up a separate gmail account ONLY to use for gtalk with my girlfriend. That way I could set it to Always On however gtalk will not let me add it. So how can I possibly set up gtalk so my girlfriend can chat with me at any time of day, yet I can keep my status as invisible so none of my gmail friends can?

View 2 Replies View RelatedEverything seems to be working fine except - no Picasa. I set up the phone with my Google account and calendar, mail, contacts are all synced fine. However, no Picasa albums in Photos section. Went to Account setup, clicked on Google account, no Picasa there either. On my wife's Droid (OS v2.1 also) Picasa is listed under Google account options. Is this an Incredible bug or am I missing something?

I need it for university and my job, however I can not for the life of me, after a week of trying to get the email app that came on the phone to work it will not work. I took the phone to the IT department if my university after I followed their instructions online for setting the email account up on the phone and every time I got to outgoing server settings the app force closed. The IT guy couldn't get it to work either.
I tried it a few times at home before it just sat for an hour trying to do something or other before my phone crashed and it turned itself off. I had a panic attack and thought I had broken it but alas my phone loves me too much to do that to me. So are there any other apps out there that are worth while for IMAP email (I do know its IMAP no idea what IMAP is =) that I can use with my G1 that I wont have to kill to get it to work?

2. GPRS is functioning correctly while accessing the links from browser but not able to use any application which is based on gmail account?

I am having some emails issues with Desire. Apart from this the phones amazing. I can send from the ntl account (set up outgoing with gmail as heard problems unless using it from home router) but I can't set up my ntl account at all for incoming.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI got my HTC Incredible running 2.1 when it was first released, setup my Exchange ActiveSync account, and noticed that my only option under Mail Size Limit is to download Headers Only. This got annoying very quickly, as I have to click 'Get Remaining' on every single email, regardless of the size. I researched this issue when the phone first came out and came up with nothing on it, and two other guys at work with the Droid Eris on 1.5 don't have this issue, they get the full range of size options to download.
Fast forward to today, one of the guys with the Eris installed the update to Android 2.1, and now he has the exact same problem I do. When I saw his issue, I started to research it again now that a month or so has passed, but I still can't seem to find any documentation or reports of similar issues.
Anybody else see this behavior with 2.1 + Exchange? I can't see it being a problem server-side since it works under 1.5, but my phone can download the whole message if I setup a regular POP account.
So, from what I am aware of, HTC Hero is able to use multiple email account (gmail and not). will I be able to set up a MobileMe account on it?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am a new owner of Photon 4g. I used to have a HTC touch. I am getting "login failed. please try again" message when I try to setup my corporate email.
1> I have tried using both domainusername and just username with no success.
2> Also have tried setting up gmail as corporate account and later changing to the desired account settings as suggested in other forums and it still shows the same error.
3> I have also tried unchecking "verify certificate"
I have been able to using the same credentials on my old phone and it used to work perfectly.
I was just entering my hotmail account details using the settings provided by a member here and it verifies nicely. When I enter the Mail app however it says that the "account for this widget has been deleted. Would you like to switch to another account?" When I select Yes it just leads me back to my account Inbox - the same account it claims was deleted This account was created using the Manual IMAP option.
Earlier today when I just put my details in normally, without selecting Manual, it was working okay - although the sync was a problem. At least, however, it had a notification icon on the App when I got a new email. But strangely after I wait a few minutes going back to that account inbox, it does show my emails. What can I do to stop this?
I am just wondering if anyone else is having an issue when trying to connect to Google? I have had zero luck since I purchased the phone yesterday. Signing in... Your phone is communicating with Google servers and setting up your account. This may take up to five minutes. Then two minutes into it the screen goes blank and I get this message: Can't establish a reliable data connection to the server. This could be a temporary problem or your SIM card may not be provisioned for data services. If it continues, call Customer Care.
Well, after 2 calls to customers care I am still getting the same error. I have full internet access, data capability and even setup my gmail account as the email to use. I can send and receive email/sms/mms, calls, etc... Anyone else have something for me to try before returning the phone to Sprint? (it was purchased at BB).
